Ancient tribe in Indonesia roasts dead relatives by Whatelse(m) : 11:33 pm On Aug 16

There is a village in Indonesia where they
roast their dead and store them rather than
bury corpses
The village is called Wogi and is owned
by the people of the Dani tribe in New
Guinea
The only way to get to Wogi is via air
travel because there are no roads there

A village has been discovered in Indonesia
where the dead are not buried but roasted
over an open fire and kept as mummies for a
long time.
Daily Star UK reports that the “ Dani people
from the central highlands of western New
Guinea, Indonesia, have been able to preserve
their dead for centuries with smoke”.
Though it reports that the technique is no
longer in use, a tribe in Wogi – a village
close to the regional capital, Wamena – has
held on to a number of mummies which it
refused to bury.
According to tradition in that region, smoking
someone over a fire for weeks, or even
months, is the ultimate show of respect for
the deceased in Dani culture.
In recent years, this bizarre culture has
brought tourists to this isolated part of
Indonesia, more than 2,000 miles from the
capital, Jakarta.
Daily Star UK reports that “Visitors can also
get a glimpse of Dani traditions at Baliem
Valley Festival, an annual event with mock
battles between tribes.”
The Dani tribe was first encountered by
explorers in 1909, when they played host to
a Dutch expedition in one village for several
nights.
One part of the tribe, the Grand Valley Dani,
remained undiscovered until 1938 when an
American spotted them from a plane.

the nylon bag was not mine.
When they got to NEPA Junction, they attempted
to cross to the other side by driving against

Super Eagles coach, Rohr stranded in Germany, players ordered to fly economy class by Whatelse(m) : 2:31 am On Oct 03

Nigeria’s preparation for their 2018 World Cup
qualifier against Zambia on October 9 is in
disarray, after it emerged that coach Gernot
Rohr is stranded in Germany.
This is after the Nigeria Football Federation
(NFF), asked Rohr and the foreign-based playes
in the team, to buy their flight tickets and get a
refund.
It is understood that this order was sent late,
catching most of the players off guard. Several
players were to arrive on Saturday, but because
of this mix-up, it is uncertain when they will
report to the Abuja camp.
“Rohr is still in Germany after it was first agreed
he will be sent his ticket before he was then
asked to buy it and get a refund on arrival,” a
source informed AfricanFootball.com
“The players have also been caught off guard by
this order to buy their tickets.”
The players are also angry with NFF officials,
after they were told to travel on only economy
class. Apart from that, they have reportedly not
been refunded for tickets they bought to fly
down for last month’s 2017 AFCON qualifier
against Tanzania.
The federation had earlier denied that it was
unable to fly the Super Eagles to Ndola for the
match

UK Newspaper Warns Nigerians Off MMM by Whatelse(m) : 3:34 am On Oct 03

Sequel to the crash of the Mavrodi Mondial
Moneybox scheme in Zimbabwe popularly known
as MMM , the UK Independent newspaper has
warned Africans against investing their money
into the Ponzi Scheme.
There are similarities about this scheme in
Zimbabwe and Nigeria, as it follows the same
model . Both countries are also experiencing an
economic crisis and many of its citizens have
turned to the MMM Global as a means of
livelihood .
An excerpt from The Independent’ s article stated ;“ That ’s despite a warning from the Reserve Bank of
Zimbabwe that the scheme was fraudulent. RBZ warned members of the public that existing investors were “ paid money not from genuine market investment of their funds , but from contributions made by new investors , until a point when the scheme can no longer attract new investors ” .
What it simply means is that the number of people in need of help has outnumbered the number of people joining. Right now we have nowhere to get our money which we invested. ”Despite the cautionary tales of Zimbabwe and
South Africa – and indeed the original MM scheme – a branch is now proving increasingly popular in Nigeria .
A quote from a Central Bank official said ; “ These people always come with very interesting propositions, ” Mr Okoroafor said . “ These are fraudsters who are just out there to collect people’ s money and run away as soon as they hit their target. ”
Nigeria’s Central Bank and the Securities and
Exchange Commission have warned Nigerians off the scheme but the promise of 30 % Returns hasproved too much for most people to resist .
