because we have to continue with our

Nigerian government to go back to the drawing
board and map-out pro-agriculture policies and
programmes.

unemployment in the country, said improved
agriculture would have solved the challenged if

Nigerian journalist wanted over Chibok girls' abduction by Whatelse(m) : 11:20 pm On Aug 16

Nigeria 's army has declared three people,
including a journalist, wanted for allegedly
concealing information on more than 200 girls
abducted from their school in Chibok in April
2014, a spokesman said Monday.
Colonel Sani Usman told AFP that local
journalist Ahmad Salkida had been in contact
with the Islamists, as had Ahmed Bolori and
Aisha Wakil.
" There is no doubt that these individuals have
links with Boko Haram terrorists and have
contacts with them, " he said.
" They must therefore come forward and tell us
where the group is keeping the Chibok girls and
other abducted persons to enable us to rescue
them. "
Usman said the military would work with other
security agencies to bring in the suspects " if
they fail to turn up".
He added that authorities also want to talk to
the suspects over a recent video released by
Boko Haram on the girls.
Salkida is said to have high-level contacts
among the group's leaders and is believed to
have been involved in failed talks between Boko
Haram and the government of former president
Goodluck Jonathan .
On Sunday, Boko Haram released a video of the
Chibok girls, showing some who are still alive
and claiming that others died in air strikes.
The video was the latest release from Boko
Haram's embattled leader Abubakar Shekau,
who this month denied claims that he has been
replaced as the leader of the jihadist group.
The video demanded the release of Boko Haram
fighters held by the government in exchange for
the kidnapped schoolgirls. The government said
it was studying the footage.
The mass kidnapping of the schoolgirls from the
town of Chibok provoked global outrage and
brought unprecedented attention to Boko Haram
and its bl**dy quest to create an Islamic state
in Nigeria's mainly-Muslim north.
Throughout last year the military announced the
rescue of hundreds of people, most of them
women and children, who have been kidnapped
by the Islamists.
But the missing schoolgirls were not among
them, despite several unconfirmed sightings.
Boko Haram's seven-year insurgency has left
some 20,000 people dead and forced at least
2.6 million others to flee their homes.

‘We’ll march to Villa every day till girls are released,’ Ezekwesili says by Whatelse(m) : 11:23 pm On Aug 16

Founder of the Bring Back Our Girls
(BBOG) organization, Oby Ezekwesili has
said that the group would not hesitate to
march to the Presidential Villa everyday if
that would lead to the rescue of the
abducted Chibok girls.
Ezekwesili made the comment following Boko
Haram’s release of a video showing some of the
girls alive.
“We are not going to let up until this government
acts. Let them get ready because every day we
shall be marching to the (Presidential) villa. These
girls were kidnapped in the course of getting
education, which annoyed me to no end,” she
said according to Punch.
“It is on this basis of education that I became
what I am today. If it means marching to the villa
every day to demand the release of our chibok
girls, so be it….Only three choices are available –
negotiate to release our girls, use the military
operation or a combination of the two. We don’t
want to see a fourth video,” she added.
The sect released the video, which showed 50
of the girls, on Sunday, August 14, 2016.

The video also shows one terrorist who accused
the Nigerian Army of killing some of the girls
during an airstrike.

Chibok Girls ‘Buhari administration more clueless than Jonathan’s,’ Parent says by Whatelse(m) : 11:26 pm On Aug 16

Esther Yakubu, the mother of one of the
Chibok girls who was shown in a video
released by Boko Haram on Sunday,
August 14, 2016, has said that President
Muhammadu Buhari’s administration is
more clueless than that of his predecessor,
Goodluck Jonathan.
Esther’s daughter, Dorcas, along with 49 others,
were shown standing with a member of the
terrorist sect which kidnapped the girls in April
2014.
“I wanted her [Dorcas] to have the best of
education, I planned to sponsor her education to
whatever level she wanted, but she could not sit
for her final examinations because she was
abducted,” she told Punch.
“Boko Haram in the video asked the government to
release their members so that they could release
our girls. If the government knows that it cannot
handle the insurgency, it should invite other
countries. It is not a crime to seek assistance in a
war. It is a shame for them to allow our
daughters to languish in captivity for over two
years.
“I don’t regret sending her to school, but I regret
putting her in boarding school. If she was a day
student, she would be home with me that night.
The abduction affected her because she was in
boarding school,” she added.

Esther, who said she recognized 20 other
Chibok girls in the video, urged the government
to release Boko Haram detainees in exchange
for the girls.
Meanwhile, Bring Back Our Girls founder, Oby
Ezekwesili has said that the group is ready to
march to the Presidential Villa every day to
speed up the girls’ rescue.
