The Anambra State Police Command has confirmed
that a gunmen attacked St. Philip Catholic Church, Ozubulu, Ekwusigo Local Government Area on Sunday .

Police claims 8 worshippers were killed, while 18 others were injured, a figure that has remained contentious.


Mr Garba Umar, the State Commissioner of Police, said the remains of the dead had been deposited at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital in Nnewi, while the injured have been taken to hospital.

Umar also said investigations showed that the attack was executed by a native.

“From our findings, it is very clear that the person who carried the attack must be an indigene of the area.

“We gathered that worshippers for 6 o’clock Sunday mass at St. Philip Ozobulu were in the service when a gunman dressed in black attire covering his face with a cap entered the church and moved straight to a particular direction and opened fire.

“The man after shooting at his targeted victims still went on a shooting spree, killing and wounding other worshippers,” he said.

The Police Commissioner also stated that they have information, that the attack was a result of a quarrel between two natives of Ozubulu residing overseas.

“Such conduct shows the people behind the act do not fear God,” he added.

Safetrust Mortgage Bank Limited has declared profit before tax of N76.8m for the financial year ended 31st December, 2016.

The Chairman of the bank, Mr. Akin Opeodu, at the 2017 Annual General Meeting said it closed the year with over N1.5bn in interest earnings, N8.1bn in total assets while the capital base and shareholders fund stood at N2.77bn.

He added that the financial year under review was a very challenging period due to the economic recession.

 “The situation was further heightened by increased volatility and uncertainty in the global economy, persistent decline in crude oil prices and incessant damages to oil installations in the Niger Delta that resulted in low levels of oil production with impact on foreign currency availability for business,” he said.

He said a major development during the financial year was the retirement of Mr. Yinka Adeola, having served the maximum period of two terms of five years each as the managing director while Mr. Akintayo Oloko, was appointed the new MD of the bank.

Catchment Area

The School being established by the Northern State Governments is open to all interested applicants from the 19 Northern States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

Entry Requirements

Candidates aspiring to gain admission in Ahmadu Bello University Zaria via SBRS’s Remedial programme must:
Successfully sit and pass the pre-admission test examined by SBRS at Funtua.

Have obtained at least three (3) credits and two (2) pass in English Language, General Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Geography and Physics in WAEC and or NECO.

The remedial section of the school also organizes

JAMB CLINIC

classes for all students and SPECIAL classes for students with deficiencies in their O-Levels.
The Remedial programme generally last for Nine (9) months divided into two semesters. During this period, students are exposed to intensive lectures from Mondays to Thursdays every week and a weekly C.A. test on Fridays.

GROUPS & SUBJECT COMBINATIONS

All successfully admitted and registered students are placed into one of the four (4) academic groups:- RS1, RS2, RS3 or RS4. Each student is given a group by considering his/her intended feature carrier and the O-Level credits obtained. Courses in each group are:
RS1:- Biology, Chemistry and Geography

RS2:- Biology, Chemistry and Physics

RS3:- Biology, Geography and Physics

RS4:- Chemistry, Geography and Physics

Note:

English Language and General Mathematics are compulsory for all students apart from the subject combinations they are expected to offer in their various groups.

Admission in Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria is automatic provided a student successfully completes the remedial programme as follows:
Obtained a minimum of 2.0 CGPA from 3 subjects undertook at the school.

Choose ABU Zaria as first choice in JAMB and has also obtained the required JAMB scores (which is generally determined by JAMB) and

Remedied all necessary O-Level deficiencies.

A former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ishaya Bamaiyi (retd.), has said that the Senate is not serious about supporting the anti-corruption war of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.

He stated that it was worrisome that those who were supposed to boost the anti-graft fight were rather the ones frustrating it.

He spoke on Friday in an interview with journalists on the sidelines of the 40th General Conference of the United Missionary Church of Nigeria in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

Bamaiyi said, “I am disappointed. My disappointment is that those who are supposed to fight corruption are really against it. If you look at what is happening in the Senate, it is not encouraging at all.

“It appears that there are people in this country who do not want corruption to be overcome because they are involved. I think it is an unfortunate issue, but I believe that the government is doing well. I want them to continue to fight until they win.”

The retired army general thereafter cautioned citizens against asking Buhari to resign on account of his illness, stating that any person could fall sick.

He said, “In the first place, every human being can fall sick. The President is a human being. He is sick; he took all the constitutional steps before he left this country. I think some people who are close to the President are the ones causing a problem for him because there is no reason why they should not talk about the President’s health.

“If the President feels he cannot continue, he is the one that will tell you that he is going to resign. I know the President very well; I worked under his directive.”

Brazilian football star Neymar is willing to pay a fine of $2.5 million to settle tax evasion allegations in his country, his lawyer said Friday.

The 25-year-old wants to leave the fight with Brazilian authorities behind him as he prepares for a new professional life with Paris Saint-Germain after his record $261 million (222 million euro) transfer buyout from FC Barcelona, Neymar’s lawyer Marcos Neder told a press conference.

“This process has stretched on for more than three years and our goal is to move ahead with the new phase that Neymar has begun,” Neder said.

In September 2015, Brazilian tax authorities seized what was then the equivalent of $55.7 million in Neymar’s assets to cover what they said were unpaid taxes from 2011 to 2013, plus penalties and interest.

The case has been snaking its way through the courts ever since. Neymar has scored some victories such as having the amount of seized assets reduced.

However, it is now up to tax authorities to decide whether they accept the amount that Neymar’s defense team has calculated that he owes.

Neymar also faces corruption charges in Spain stemming from his transfer to Barcelona from the Brazilian team Santos in 2013.

Harvey visits Louis in his office. Harvey tells him how Paula is being sued. He wants Louis to help.

Louis asks why he doesn’t help her. Harvey tells him he is dating Paula. Louis agrees to meet Paula and not tell Donna about the two of them.

Mike tells Oliver to continue working the case. He needs to get to the firm before Harvey wonders where he is.

Harvey meets a client who has had his technology stolen. Harvey gives his pitch and warns the man that if he doesn’t hurry his product will go to market. The client gives him 3 days to prove himself.

MY OPEN LETTER TO DANA AIR

I’m usually not the type to rant, but today i am beyond upset, this gross Nonchalance & general misconduct by service providers in Nigeria has gone on for to long it needs to STOP, you can’t keep treating paying costumers with reckless disregard, & expect them to remain silent forever. Rampant delays & Sporadic cancellation of scheduled flights without concern for the traveler’s engagement has now become a Norm in our Aviation Sector.

So yesterday my colleagues & i were booked on the 7:40am flight to Owerri, only for them to announce by 9am that due to “operational reasons” a term airliners now carelessly use, that the flight was moved to 12:30pm, pls note that our engagement was billed to start by 11am, long story short, calls were made top staff were woken up & a plane “Miraculously” surfaced to evacuate us by 10am, we narrowly made the event on time.

Now, today our departure back to lagos was set for 8:45am then for “operational reasons” it was moved to 12pm then for another “operational reason” it was moved to 2pm then 4pm then eventually we left by 5:30pm which leaves me wondering whether they were operationally assembling the plane in the backyard. Also Note that all this while NO member of staff from DANA AIR came to address us or comfort us or even offer us water, all these information you had to go & get from their desk, when i asked the man behind the counter he said that FAAN (Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria) would not allow them come to the departure lounge to address the passengers.

Interestingly we found out that the Md & GM of DANA AIR who was scheduled to be on the same flight as us after a while of delay flew off on AIR PEACE, wow! How cool is that? Perhaps they had more “important things” to do in Lagos than little ol me.

I’ve come to the logical conclusion that the management of DANA AIR are insensitive, nonchalant, carefree, unperturbed & unbothered of their customers well being & prior engagements.

As an Entertainer all i have is my voice & i’ve decided to speak forth on an issue that affects all & sundry.

Finally If i can’t change the situation i wish i spark the Brain that does.

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane sent a message of support to those affected by terrorist attacks in Barcelona and Cambrils that have left 14 people dead and over 100 injured.

“On behalf of the club, of everyone, I want to say we had a minute’s silence and we are thinking of all the families of victims who were affected,” Zidane said on Saturday ahead of Real’s La Liga opener at Deportivo la Coruna on Sunday.

“In these very tough moments, we just want to tell them loud and clear that we are thinking of them.”

Thirteen people were killed when a van ploughed into packed crowds on Barcelona’s Las Ramblas on Thursday.

Attackers struck again in the early hours of Friday morning in Cambrils, 120 kilometres south of Barcelona, where a car rammed into pedestrians, killing one person.

All games across Spain’s top two divisions will be preceded by a minute’s silence this weekend.

Barcelona players will also wear black armbands and shirts with ‘Barcelona’ replacing individual names on the back when they host Real Betis on Sunday.

They vowed to buy off the delegates but I tell you it will become a case of use and dump” 

Onitsha North and South delegates who spoke commended Okonkwo for his unique approach in the exercise especially his different style of politicking which uncommon among other APC aspirants they have seen. They further applauded him for having his wife’s presence at the gathering, which they said is a moral boaster to the women group.

A mum-of-two has spent £10,000 on a year-long makeover to turn herself into a real life $ex doll. It has taken a boob job , hair extensions and having her lips pumped three times a month to fulfill Cindy Moore’s dream of looking like a walking, talking inflatable doll.

But although she gets lots of attention from men, Cindy says she sometimes feels “people don’t realise I’m actually a person and not really a $ex doll”.

The final touch to her transformation has even seen 31-year-old Cindy put a new car registration plate spelling out ‘Doll’. Her £7,000 boob job saw her go from a size A to a massive double-F and she spends £250 every 10 days on painful lip filler injections .

And she says she still isn’t finished yet or satisfied with her extreme look. Cindy, from Salford in Greater Manchester, said: “I want another boob job and probably a tummy tuck. I’m lucky because of my skin I don’t really need Botox.

“I used to be around a size A, but now my B00bs are double F’s. “I’ve still got a long way to go. I’m trying to lose more weight and look even more like a $ex doll.

“I’ve just always liked it when I saw the look on other people. I think it makes me look beautiful.”

Cindy has been a fan of the “fake” look since she was 19 and loved bleaching her long locks and wearing dramatic make-up.

She said: “When I first met my ex I was 19 and I had started looking like I do now, but definitely not as extreme.

“But after we had two kids I ballooned by about seven stone and kind of gave up on it.

“When we split last year I looked at myself in the mirror and just thought ‘this needs to go’, so I trained hard and cut the carbs and lost it really rapidly.

“I’ve always liked the bimbo blow-up doll look, ever since I was younger so I just started taking it to the next level.

“Since I split up with him I’ve felt good about myself overall because I had my B00bs done and lost a lot of weight.”

Cindy went on a strict diet and training regime every day to lose five stone, dropping from a size 24 to a size 12.

Cindy says that she knew that the $ex-doll look was right for her after watching herself on Channel 5’s reality TV show ‘100% Hotter’, which was filmed in December 2016 and aired in February this year.

The TV show takes men and women with extreme looks and tones them down to a more natural style.

But it had the opposite effect on Cindy – who made her look more extreme.

She now sells Raunc#y photos of herself to 100 online followers who pay her £25 a month.

Cindy said: “My six year old daughter says that when I’m all done up I look like a doll. She really loves it too.

“My son is eight, and he prefers it when I have my make up on too.”

But some of the attention hasn’t been ideal, admitted Cindy.

She said: “I try not to go out clubbing too much because I get lots of stares and wolf whistles. I think some of it is because of my B00bs are so big.

“I get a lot of attention from men so I think I could be going on dates every night if I wanted to.

“But sometimes it’s like people don’t realise I’m actually a person and not really a $ex doll.”
