The Science of Music: How Music Affects Our Brain and Emotions by LoverBoy(m) : 2:00 pm On Apr 29

Since the beginning of time, people have always found a way to express themselves through song. It can cause a wide variety of feelings in us, and it also has the potential to impact our brains in significant ways. In recent years, scientists have been doing research into the science of music in an effort to get a deeper understanding of the ways in which music may influence both the brain and emotions. The intriguing ways in which music may affect our mental and emotional states will be discussed in this essay.

The Relationship That Exists Between Music and Feelings

Certain kinds of music might influence our feelings. One kind of music has the power to move us to tears, while another may get us up and move with delight. This is due to the fact that listening to music has the capability of stimulating the same regions of the brain that are connected with emotions, such as the amygdala and the hippocampus.

Research has demonstrated that various genres of music have the ability to evoke certain feelings in their audience. For example, emotions of relaxation and tranquillity are often connected with classical music, but feelings of anger and enthusiasm are frequently associated with heavy metal music. According to this, music has a significant effect on our emotional states and may be utilized to alter our emotions and our actions.

How Science Explains Our Ability to Interpret Music

The human brain is designed to react in a wide variety of different ways to different kinds of music. When we listen to music, our brains process different aspects of music, including the rhythm, melody, and harmony of the piece. The subsequent processing of these components takes place in many brain regions, all of which collaborate to produce a unified musical experience.

Recent studies have shown that the brain’s reaction to music is comparable to how it reacts to other stimuli such as food, sex, and drugs. When we listen to music, the dopamine neurotransmitter, which is associated with feelings of pleasure and reward, is released in our brains. This is why listening to music can make us feel so happy, and it’s also why we look for new music to listen to all the time.

The Role That Music Plays in the Improvement of Our Mental Health

A wealth of evidence points to music’s efficacy as a kind of treatment. The symptoms of anxiety and sadness, as well as improvements in cognitive performance, have been proven to be helped by listening to music, according to several studies.

This is likely because listening to music might lower the hormone cortisol levels related to stress. Music may also stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, which is part of the nervous system responsible for reducing heart rate and enhancing feelings of calm.

In addition, music therapy is effective in helping patients manage a wide range of mental health concerns, such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), drug misuse, and eating disorders. Individuals might find new methods to express themselves and work through the difficulties they are experiencing emotionally and psychologically when music is included in their therapy sessions.

Conclusion

The study of music as a science is an intriguing topic that has yielded numerous discoveries on the ways in which music may influence our thoughts and feelings. We can harness the power of music to improve our well-being and increase the quality of our lives by first understanding the myriad of complicated ways music influences our mental and emotional states. It doesn’t matter whether you play an instrument or just like listening to music; there’s no disputing the tremendous influence that music can have on our life.

Alan Walker Sasha Alex Sloan Hero Lyrics

Alan Walker teams up with the incredible Sasha Alex Sloan @sadgirlsloan for his new single ‘Hero’.

HERO LYRICS (Alan Walker & Sasha Alex Sloan)

Been here before
It’s in my muscle memory I’m pretty sure
I recognize you
There is something in your eyes
Won’t let you get away tonight
You leave me in the dark
I’m stumbling around like I’m a question mark
Wondering if you’re around to catch me if I fall
If I come crashing to the wall

Will you light me up
Jump start my heart
I need someone
Before the sun goes down
Who’s gonna save me now
Some kind of hero

I can’t breathe
Hoping you’re here to rescue me
Before the sun goes down
Who’s gonna save me now
Some kind of hero

Been here before
It’s in my muscle memory, I’m pretty sure
I’ve felt this energy
There’s something in your touch
Something reminding me of us

Will you light me up
Jump start my heart
I need someone
Before the sun goes down
Who’s gonna save me now
Some kind of hero

I can’t breathe
Hoping you’re here to rescue me
Before the sun goes down
Who’s gonna save me now
Some kind of hero

“I’m In Disbelief” – Atiku Kicks As US Secretary Of State, Antony Blinken Calls Tinubu by LoverBoy(m) : 3:01 pm On May 18

The presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has kicked againt the recent phone conversation between US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, and President-elect Bola Tinubu.

"I'm In Disbelief" - Atiku Kicks As US Secretary Of State, Antony Blinken Calls Tinubu

It was gathered that Bliken phoned Tinubu on Tuesday after announcing the imposition of visa restrictions on specific individuals who undermined the democratic process during the 2023 elections.

Blinken, in a statement by the spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State, Matthew Miller, told Tinubu that the Joe Biden administration is committed to strengthening ties with Nigeria.

He stated that the US-Nigeria partnership is built on shared interests and strong people-to-people ties and that those links should continue strengthening under Tinubu’s tenure.

The US Secretary added that he and Tinubu discussed the importance of inclusive leadership that represents all Nigerians and reforms to support the economic growth of Nigeria.

Atiku Reacts To US State Secretary’s Call To Tinubu

Reacting on his Twitter page, Atiku questioned Blinken’s decision to contact Tinubu, given US’s well-informed knowledge of the alleged fraudulent election that took place on February 25.

He emphasized that bestowing legitimacy upon an election widely regarded as fraudulent goes against the principles upheld by the United States, known as a bastion of democracy.

“I am in disbelief that @SecBlinken called Tinubu, a contradiction to the publicly stated position of the US on Nigeria’s 2023 presidential election. This is inconceivable considering that America, as the bastion of democracy, is well briefed on the sham election of February 25.

“To give legitimacy to the widely acknowledged fraudulent election in Nigeria can be demoralising to citizens who have hedged their bet on democracy and the sanctity of the ballot @StateDept @POTUS @USinNigeria,” he wrote.

KanyiDaily recalls that Atiku Abubakar said that Bola Tinubu is unfit to govern Nigeria because of the controversy trailing his true identity, age, state of origin and educational qualifications.

The Supreme Court Has Set May 26 For A Decision On The PDP's Lawsuit Against Tinubu And Shettima by LoverBoy(m) : 3:00 pm On May 23

On May 26, the Supreme Court will issue its ruling in the case seeking to invalidate Bola Tinubu's and Kashim Shettima's election as president and vice president, respectively, on behalf of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Three days prior to the president-elect and vice president-elect's inauguration, the judgment will be handed down.

The PDP alleged that Shettima's selection as Tinubu's running mate violated the terms of sections 29(1), 33, 35, and 84(1)(2) of the Electoral Act of 2022 in the lawsuit filed on July 28, 2022.

Shettima's nomination to run for vice president and the Borno central senatorial seat at the same time, according to the party, was illegal.

The PDP requested a ruling that would have invalidated Tinubu, Shettima, and the APC's eligibility to run in the presidential election.

The court of appeal's trial judge, Inyang Ekwo, dismissed the case on the grounds that the PDP lacked locus standi to bring it.

The PDP challenged the verdict because it was unsatisfied.
