Nigerian singer, Burna Boy has taken to social media to mourn the tragic death of South African rapper, AKA, who was his former friend.

KanyiDaily recalls that Burna Boy and AKA fell out for unknown reasons during the 2019 xenophobic attacks on Nigerians and other Africans in South Africa.

On February 10, 2023, AKA was shot dead outside the Wish Restaurant in Durban along with one of his best friends and former manager, Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane.

Reacting on his Instagram stories, Burna Boy shared an unreleased track in which he sang about the tragic death of AKA, recounting how he advised the rapper to purchase a gun, but the deceased called him “wild” for owning one.

The singer expressed shock over the demise of the rapper, confessing that despite their differences in the past, he never wished death for AKA.

Burna Boy further shared that he hopes the authorities apprehends those who killed AKA even as he hopes he rests in peace albeit that they didn’t share a cordial relationship before his death.

“WTF is all of that about? I just heard he died, seen that video at that restaurant. Took me out of a positive mood/ Took me back to that day when you saw my gun and you said I was wild/ Then I told you you should have one too,” he sang.

“But I didn’t want you dead, it was like that with me and you, have one too/ Cuz it weren’t like niggaz wasn’t dying but I thought you knew/ And I ain’t really f**k with you/

“Wicked! I hope they catch whoever did you wicked/ I hope you rest in peace, even though we ain’t kick it/ At the end of the day we some grown ass ni**az.”

Meanwhile, AKA’s family has announced that he will be laid to rest in a private funeral on Saturday, February 18 and his memorial service will take place on Friday, February 17 at the Sandton Convention Centre at 3 pm.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended one Chidozie Kingsley Nwachi, also known as Dozie, for allegedly defrauding his American wife, Nicole Kierulff Sayers, of $200,000. According to a statement from the EFCC, Nwachi was arrested in Abuja on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, based on Sayers' complaint that he had deceived her into a fraudulent marriage and swindled her out of her life savings. The suspect is currently in custody as the EFCC continues its investigation into the case.

EFCC reveals how man allegedly defrauded American wife of $200,000 using fake contract offer from Federal Ministry of Works and Housing in Abuja. According to the EFCC, Chidozie Kingsley Nwachi convinced his wife to finance the phony contract execution until she discovered the contract papers were fraudulent. Sayers reportedly experienced suicidal thoughts after realizing she had been defrauded and was facing bankruptcy. The EFCC seized Nwachi's possessions, including two cars, expensive wristwatches, iPhones, laptops, an international passport, ATM cards, and $2,204 in cash. The investigation is ongoing.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Taskforce has dislodged suspected illicit drug lords and scavengers allegedly carrying out nefarious activities in the Tora-Bora Hills and other parts of Abuja.

The FCT taskforce dislodged the drug lords through a raid it carried out in the area and other parts of the capital city.

The team consisted of operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), and Military and paramilitary agencies including the Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB).

The operatives invaded the hill, pursued the suspects, and destroyed makeshift structures providing cover for the illicit drug peddling and other nefarious acts at the location.

Reports say some suspected illicit drug lords took to their heels on sighting the Taskforce officials.

They abandoned packs of Indian hemp and other dangerous substances on heaps of refuse dump found at the notorious topside of the city.

Some of the items recovered included big and small wraps of fresh and dried Indian hemp inside clusters of black nylons and papers, drugs, and tubes of dangerous liquid substances.

The senior special assistant to the FCT Minister on Monitoring, Inspection, and Enforcement, Ikharo Attah, explained that the exercise became imperative as it was gathered that the dislodged drug lords and scavengers were regrouping at the hills.

Attah disclosed that the FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Bello, directed them to work under the guidance of the FCT Commissioner of Police, Dr. Sadiq Abubakar, who ensured that they revisited the place to dislodge the suspected criminals, as there is no hiding place for their nefarious acts.

“You know the minister had worked with several Police Commissioners on the issue. So we cleared the hill and removed the drug lords from the place. But, sometimes, when the Minister was passing through here, he saw that heaps of waste kept by suspected scavengers (Baban Bola) are returning to the Tora-Bora hill we had cleared.

“Yes, they are returning, but we will not allow that to happen here. And that is why we tell the illicit drug lords that they can’t come into the nation’s capital city to freely sell drugs. Tora-Bora hill is a beautiful topside overlooking the popular Apo Roundabout, and we will not allow such nefarious acts to be there,” he stated.

On some proactive measures taken to tackle the menaces on the hill, the Minister’s aide said the FCT Police Command has stationed a Police outpost there to be watching over and ensure that the drug lords do not return, adding that NDLEA has also established their presence by having an outpost at the foot of the hill.

“So, with the combined efforts of the security teams of the Nigeria Police, NDLEA, Military and paramilitary agencies including the AEPB, those who deal on all hard drugs would certainly remain out of business in FCT,” Attah added.

‘GOOD BAD BOY‘- Keshinro Ololade (born March 14, 1995), popularly known by the stage name Lil Kesh, is a Nigerian singer, rapper and songwriter who rose to fame after his chart-topping song titled “Shoki” became a national anthem in Nigeria and Aboard. Lil Kesh was born and raised in Bariga, a suburb of Lagos State.

Lil Kesh‘s music career started in 2012 while rapping among his peers in Bariga until he released “Lyrically”, a single that quickly became popular in Nigerian Universities. Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has threatened to demolish the property of Daar Communications, the owner of African Independent Television (AIT) and Raypower radio station.

Wike issued a 48-hour quit notice to Daar Communications to remove the building housing facilities of the media outfit at Ozuoba area of Port Harcourt or it will be demolished in 48 hours.

The governor gave the ultimatum in a quit notice issued signed by Mrs. Ebere Dennis Emenike, Permanent Secretary of the Rivers Ministry of Works Government dated Tuesday March 21.

Wike claimed that the building is one of the structures marked for demolition in GRA Phase 5 in Port Harcourt.

The quit notice reads, “Following the imminent commencement of GRA Phase 5 project the structures are impacting on the Right Of Way have been earmarked for demolition, including your own.

“Consequently, you are by this notice requested to remove Structures within 48 hours to allow for speedy progress of work”.

However, the Rivers State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), has appealed to the Government to drop its plan to demolish the structure housing facilities of AIT/Raypower media outfit.

The appeal is contained in a press statement jointly signed by Stanley Job Stanley and Ike Wigodo, the chairman and secretary of the NUJ in the state respectively.

The Union noted that the land on which the building housing AIT television and Raypower radio station was built has been a subject of dispute between the Rivers State Government and Daar Communication Plc for sometimes now.

However, the Council appealed to the Rivers State Government to review its position on the land dispute and drop its plan to demolish and take over the AIT property.

The Council urged the state government to open a negotiation channel with the media organisation for a peaceful resolution.

“We appeal to the Rivers State Government to review the quit notice given to Daar Communications Plc, owners of AIT and Raypower Radio Station.

“The Press and the Rivers State Government have come a long way as partners in progress. We believe that proper negotiation and peaceful resolution of the land dispute will serve the Government and people of Rivers State better.

“Whatever the merit of the quit notice by the Rivers State Government to Daar Communications Plc, we would not want the world to see the press in fight with the Rivers State Government in view of our long standing mutual relationship.

“NUJ will not be happy to see a Media House in Rivers State being demolished over a land dispute that can be resolved peacefully and amicably”, the statement said.

The founder Daar Communications, Chief Raymond Dokpes led the campaign of Atiku Abubakar for the presidential ticket of the People Democratic Party (PDP).

There are speculations that the move to demolish the building is linked to the politics of the 2023 elections between Atiku and Wike.

KanyiDaily recalls that Governor Nyesom Wike recently revealed that that he was drinking a 40-year-old whiskey with his friend when Atiku led a protest against the outcome of the presidential election at the INEC headquarters in Abuja.

“That indicates to me potentially what he saw in the indictment goes further than he expected to.”

Griffin said his lack of a statement could also signify that “the attorneys are likely at odds with the comms advisers.”

Trump officially became the first former president to face criminal charges.

Trump has just left the court area after arraignment.
