Festus Keyamo (SAN), spokesman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council, has dismissed reports that the G5 Governors may endorse the Labour Party presidential flag-bearer for the 2023 election, Peter Obi.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that governors who are members of the G5 are Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Samuel Ortom (Benue), Ifeanyi Ugwanyi (Enugu), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia) and Seyi Makinde (Oyo). The five men are chieftains of Nigeria’s main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

They have been at loggerheads with their party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar after Wike failed to win the party’s presidential ticket.

They are also unhappy that Atiku rejected Wike as a running mate and are demanding the resignation of Iyorchia Ayu as the party’s National Chairman, allegedly to reduce the dominance of the PDP by the North.

It was gathered barring any last-minute change in political permutations, the aggrieved PDP governors who are presently in London, United Kingdom (UK) for strategic meetings, may have concluded plans to endorse Obi, a former governor of Anambra State.

Reacting to the report of the G5’s imminent endorsement of Obi, Keyamo said the Labour Party has no electoral value.

“The Labour Party that you claimed many of these G-5 governors are looking at is untested and cannot be trusted. It has no electoral value for now because it has not been tested.

“It is a known fact that anybody who has been tested has already gone through the ballot box and the LP, as presently constituted, has not done that.

“As proper politicians, there is no other place to take a chance outside the APC,” Keyamo told Punch.

Lina Sardar Khil was 3 when she barely escaped a terrorist attack during the fall of Afghanistan. While living in San Antonio, she went out to play and has since not been found.

Now, San Antonio police have released new surveillance footage showing the moment a three-year-old Afghan girl walked away from a playground before her mother reported her missing last year, Daily Mail reported.

Lina Sardar Khil was last seen at the playground inside her gated Villas Del Cabo apartment complex on December 20, 2021.

Her mother Zarmeena had said she was watching Lina play with her younger brother when she turned around for five minutes.

When she turned back, she could not see her daughter among the dozen-plus children.

Footage taken from a resident’s security camera now shows Lina playing with her mother and younger brother on the playground that day before she walked out the gate.

The young child looked both ways and twirled her hair before walking out of view.

It is the last known sighting of the young girl before she was reported missing from the playground on December 20, 2021

Local authorities working with FBI say they have received hundreds of tips, but nothing has panned out.

Det. German Fuentes, of the Special Victims Unit, added that he thought the circumstances of the young girl’s disappearance were suspicious, saying ‘children don’t just vanish into thin air.

‘To be honest, they are suspicious circumstances based on the child’s age, the fact that we have not found any evidence to indicate where she is at,’ he said in the video posted to the San Antonio Police Department’s Facebook page.

Fuentes added: ‘There is a critical witness somewhere out there. That person that knows something needs to come forward and disclose what they know.’

And, Volz said, the San Antonio Police Department will not give up on the search for the young immigrant.

Kanyi Daily earlier reported that Pele, who was a three-time World Cup winner died on Thursday aged 82 at the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo.

The football star had been treated for colon cancer, following surgery to remove a tumour in September 2021, and had required regular medical treatment.

After being admitted back into the hospital at the end of November to re-evaluate his cancer treatment, he was diagnosed with a respiratory infection before subsequently being moved to palliative care when his body became unresponsive to chemotherapy.

The news of his death was confirmed by his daughter, Kely Nascimento on Instagram.

Obi, in a short tweet on his official handle, said the legend of Pele endures, adding that he lived his best life.

According to him, the deceased lived out his destiny and impacted the football game, immeasurably.

The former Anambra governor noted that generations of football stars take after him.

Pele, he opined, was a fulfilled man, and above all, a legend.

Prince Harry has claimed a woman with “powers” relayed a message from his late mother Princess Diana, telling him he was “living the life she wanted for you”.

The revelation was made in leaked passages of the Prince’s upcoming memoir, Spare – which is due to be released in the UK next week but was accidentally sold early in Spain.

Throughout the book, Harry writes often of the grief he experienced after his mother’s untimely death in 1997, when he was just 12 years old.

Towards the end of the book, he describes how this pain led him to seek help from a woman who “claimed to have ‘powers’” after trusted friends recommended her.

According to excerpts from the book obtained by the Guardian, Prince Harry “felt an energy” around the woman from the moment he met her.

She then told him that his late mother was with him “right now”.

It was after this that Harry describes feeling his neck growing warm and his eyes watering.

The prince doesn’t name the woman or say when or where they met, but he claimed she told him that Diana knew he was looking for “clarity” and could feel his “confusion”.

Relaying a message from his late mother, Harry then said that the woman told him: “You’re living the life she couldn’t. You’re living the life she wanted for you.”

Harry went on to say that while he wanted to believe what the woman was telling him, he still wanted “proof”.

Prince Harry’s revelation that he killed 25 people while serving as an Apache helicopter pilot in Afghanistan has been criticized by an MP who was a commanding officer in the army and a Royal Marine who the Duke of Sussex once described as a hero.

In his bombshell autobiography, Spare, Harry reportedly writes about his two tours of Afghanistan, in 2007/8 and 2012/13.

The Telegraph, which obtained a Spanish language copy of the memoir from a bookshop in Spain, says Harry describes the “din and confusion of combat” and says he did not think of those he killed as “people” but instead as “chess pieces” that had been taken off the board.

He says his aim was to ensure “baddies eliminated before they could kill goodies” and that he felt neutral about killing that number of people. He says he would watch a video of every “kill” from a camera attached to the nose of the helicopters he flew.

“It seemed to me essential not to be afraid of that number. So, my number is 25. It’s not a number that fills me with satisfaction, but nor does it embarrass me”.

The revelations have been criticized by the Conservative MP for Beckenham Bob Stewart, who questioned why the duke was being so open about his time in the army.

“I wonder why he is doing such things,” Stewart told the Daily Mail. “Real soldiers tend to shy away. People I know don’t boast about such things. They rather regret that they have had to do it.

Stewart, who served seven tours in Northern Ireland and led UN troops in Bosnia, added: “I feel really sad for the King. Because the King is a good man. I have met him a few times, he was my colonel of the regiment. He is a very sensitive decent man and this will be really hurting him a great deal, all this furore.”

Further criticism came from former Royal Marine Ben McBean, a double amputee who shared a transport plane back from Afghanistan with Harry and who was described by him as a “real hero”.

McBean tweeted: “Love you Prince Harry but you need to shut up! Makes you wonder about the people he’s hanging around with. If it was good people somebody by now would have told him to stop.”

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State on Thursday criticised the national leadership of his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for their failure to resolve the disagreement with several disgruntled party chieftains.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Ortom accused the Iyorchia Ayu-led National Working Committee (NWC) of arrogance.

The PDP has been embroiled in an internal dispute which has polarised the opposition party since mid-last year.

As a result, Ortom and four other governors (G5) refused to openly support their party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Giving an update on the rancour, Ortom said there is no new development.

Speaking with journalists, Governor Ortom said: “So, no efforts by the leadership of our party have been able to address the issues that we are raising.

“They have not been able to adopt methods that will pacify and placate the G5. This is not right. So, on the G5, that is where we are.

“Arrogance, impunity, mischief, will not really help matters.

“One will expect that humility, it is said that you stoop down to conquer even if you want to make it.”
