In a related development, two people have also been killed by the same group of suspected militants in the Rivers state Judiciary complex, Port Harcourt. Though reasons for the coordinated attacks are still sketchy, unconfirmed information has it that the attacks are not unconnected to the proposed arraignment of three suspects standing trial over the alleged killing of a Niger-Delta warlord, Soboma George. DJ Zeez in trouble as court orders him to refund N22 million to his record label by dimexy247(m) : 12:36 am On May 11 |
Remember Zeez, formerly known as DJ Zeez? He is a Nigerian singer and producer best known for his pre-2010 smash hit “Foka sibeâ€. Well, going by reports, he is in a financial quandary as a Lagos High Court has ordered him to refund N22.3 Million to his record label, HF Music. Pulse is reporting that the singer was dragged to court in September 2015 by HF Music following his inability to meet his obligations as outlined in his contract, with the main complaint stating that the singer refused to record music, as contained in the record deal. The presiding judge, Honourable Justice B.A. Oke-Lawal (Mrs) in the case brought before the High Court of Lagos State, ordered that Zeez, real name – Kingsley Elikpo, should refund the sum of N22,378,605.70 (Twenty-Two Million, Three Hundred and Seventy-Eight Thousand, Six Hundred and Five Naira and Seventy Kobo) being the total amount spent by HF Music through various advances made to and on his behalf, from the commencement date of his contract with the label until the point when it was breached by him. “This judgment is expected to have serious implication on the Nigerian music industry, as record label owners and investors can now feel safe investing in artistes, knowing that their investment is protected by the law. On the other hand, artistes are now expected to sit-up and take their contractual obligations more serious, knowing that breaching their contract might turn out to be a career ending move.†A close source told ECHOng.

10 Mysterious Places On Earth Scientists Still Can't Explain by dimexy247(m) : 12:56 am On May 11 |
The Creepiest Abandoned Places on Earth 1. Hotel del Salto — San Antonio del Tequendama, Colombia No, it’s not the set of American Horror Story: Hotel, even though La Casa del Salto del Tequendama does have a past twisted enough to shoot a movie. It was built up in 1923 and named the Hotel del Santo in the 50s. Picturesque location alongside the Tequendama waterfalls in central Colombia attracted many travelers. A few decades later the level of river pollution caused the hotel’s abandonment. Recently it has been changed into a museum, though. And still, the creepiest part remains the same; many believe that this place is haunted since it was known during its prime time as a site for numerous suicide cases. 2. Pripyat, Ukraine An abandoned city, located in northern Ukraine, once bustled with almost 500,000 residents is now a radioactive ghost town over-run by nature. In 1986, Pripyat became a ground zero for the deadliest nuclear disaster in history when an ‘accident’ destroyed a reactor and caused deadly radiation to spread throughout the city. The levels of radiation remain too high for people to live there again though it’s safe for tourist to visit. The city will stay abandoned forever, as that much radiation won’t vanish for hundreds of years. 3. House of the Bulgarian Communist Party — Mount Buzludzha, Bulgaria The Buzludzha monument or the ‘House-Monument of the Bulgarian Communist Party’ used to be a wonder back in the day. Opened in 1981, it served as a symbolic meeting point for the communist regime. But with the fall of the Soviet Union in less than a decade later it went into disrepair; now abandoned, this huge concrete building looks like an alien ship. The extreme location of this otherworldly monument, on Mount Buzludzha, puts it in the path of severe storms, ravaging winds and harsh winters. The outer windows were the first to go, escorted by the most of the metal-tiled roof, which is why the plans are being made to restore it. 4. Kolmanskop, Namibia Kolmanskop is one of the most famous haunting ghost towns in the world. It is located in the Namib Desert and was founded in the 1900s when first diamond was found in the sand. Within a few years, hundreds of German families set up homes here desperately seeking their fortune. Year by year it has been turning into bustling oasis which had to be abandoned to the wind and sand within just 50 years. Run-down buildings are falling apart, and their insides are filled with sand from the surrounding desert. The remains of Kolmanskop work as a magnet for ghost hunters, which is why De Beers Company set a museum to keep the town in somewhat decent shape and preserve the history of Kolmanskop. 5. Danvers State Insane Asylum Bet, this time, you’re positive the exteriors for the 2nd season of the AHS: Asylum were filmed in this creepy place. Nope. Wrong again! Danvers State Hospital in Massachusetts has gone by many names; it’s been variously known as the Danvers Insane Asylum, State Lunatic Hospital, even h3ll House on the Hill and other such lovely monikers. During its heyday in the 20s and 30s there were controversies over its given out the use of drugs, shock therapy and lobotomies – as a matter of fact, it may have been the birthplace of lobotomy. Eventually, Danvers transformed into unsanitary and equally dangerous place for both the patients and staff. And since its closure it has fallen into a state of despair and severe creepiness. Beware, as it’s one of the most violently haunted asylums in the world. 6. Sanzhi UFO Houses, Taiwan Other-worldly appearance and wacky architecture of these saucer-like houses made them widely known as Sanzhi UFO houses the mysterious “ruins of the futureâ€. Sanzhi Pod City became abandoned two years after it was built. This resort complex was built in 1978 in Taiwan. In 2 years due to some investment issues and other financial losses, the project was abandoned and left to the mercy of time. Sanzhi Pod City managed to find its way onto various A-lists of eerie ghost towns though and even has been used by MTV as a filming location. 7. Red Sands Sea Forts, the United Kingdom These huge metal Maunsell gun towers were originally constructed in 1943 during the Second World War to protect Britain from the German Navy. The bizarre-looking concrete monsters are named after Guy Maunsell, the engineer that designed them. Some of the towers survived to this day after they were decommissioned and left abandoned in the 50s. A few of them are still standing out as sea, remarkable as ever. Even though their lives weren’t rather long, these forts are outstanding relics of 2WW architectural history. 8. Mirny Diamond Mine – Eastern Siberia, Russia The second largest excavated hole in the world- Mirny was made by Stalin, who desperately wanted a more independent economy for the USSR. It was the 1st and the largest diamond mine in the Soviet Union. The Mir mine also known as Mirny mine is now inactive after 44 years of surface operation. The mine is 1,722 ft deep and has a diameter of 3,900 ft. It started to develop in 1957. Climate conditions were extremely harsh to mine: 7 winter month of frozen ground vs. brief summer month of the slush-turned ground. And yet Mir mine was producing 10,000,000 carats of diamond/year in the 60s. 9. The Haunting New Bedford Orpheum -U.S.A. Not only is April 15, 1912, a significant day because of the Auditorium opening, but also it happened to be the day the Titanic sunk. It functioned as the Orpheum for 47 years. This once-mighty theatre space was used to entertain the immense audiences. Since the New Bedford Orpheum closed its doors in 1959, part of the building became a supermarket ant then a warehouse. Sadly today, it remains completely abandoned, and still it never fails to impress, though. 10. Underwater Lost City Shicheng, China Fifty-seven years ago, the Xin’an River Hydropower Station trapped the 1,300-year-old Chinese city of Shicheng (Lions City) under water. It was named Lion City after 5 Lion Mountain risen largely behind it. It is truly an astonishing sight. The city stands preserved from destructive forces of erosion, like sun, wind and rain, beneath the Qiandao Lake, so it were almost untouched and managed to stay in pretty good condition. Archeologists call it a “virtual time capsuleâ€, but if you wanna open it, you’ll have to get some scuba gear.

200 naked women protest in Ebonyi by dimexy247(m) : 6:33 am On May 11 |
The women protested against the continued detention of the president general of the community, Ndubuisi Ekumankama, by the police.
Over 200 naked women from Nkwegu community near Abakaliki took to the street of the town in protest against the continued detention of the president general of the community, Ndubuisi Ekumankama, by the police on Monday, May 9. Ekumankama was reported to have broken down the house of a widow in Amangwu Edda community of the state and had been incarcerated for it. According to Punch, the women, believed to be about 200 in number were protesting all the way to Ebonyi State Government House in Abakaliki before they were intercepted by policemen who became confused upon seeing the naked women. The police public relations officer, Ebonyi state command, George Okafo said: “Last week, a group of women numbering about 20 stormed the police headquarters to protest the arrest and detention of a suspect who was being held for demolishing a widow’s house in Amangwu-Edda. “After we spoke to them, they even saw the suspect and he spoke to them. This showed them that he is alive. They went back. “Today, we got information that the same women had gone and mobilised over 200 other women to storm the Government House in protest. We also got information that they were coming into the town naked so, we tried to halt them from gaining entry into the city. “Our men who earlier got to the scene were repelled because of the sight of the nakedness of these women and we had to mobilise our policewomen, led by a female Assistant Commissioner of Police. Their action was unfortunate and shameful.†The State Police Commissioner, Ibekwe Abdallah, sent some female police officers to the scene to plead with protesters. Meanwhile, after receiving heavy knocks from Nigerians including frontline human right lawyer, Femi Falana, over the continuous attacks on Nigerians by Fulani herdsmen, the inspector-general of police (IGP), Solomon Arase, has directed commissioners of police (CPs) to convene town hall meetings in their respective commands.

10 ways to make your husbands love you more by dimexy247(m) : 7:11 am On May 11 |
It is no longer news hearing that couples are breaking up or experiencing problems in their marital lives. While the society has chosen to see this as a norm, it is far from being normal.
It is no longer news hearing that couples are breaking up or experiencing problems in their marital lives. While the society has chosen to see this as a norm, it is far from being normal. We need not tell you the reasons why people come together in holy matrimony to become one; we need not talk on the expectations of individuals who venture into marriages. But one thing that is certain is that they go into it to work on themselves. It is far from the expectations of couples for them to divorce or drift apart in their sojourn as husbands and wives. And in this present day generation, it is pathetic seeing young married people that are separated or those who still live in the same house but with love that has grown cold. The society lays more emphasis on the women and the role they have to play to make their marriages work. As a matter of fact, most people think it is totally up to the women to build their homes and make something out of the union. On this note, it would be great for us to drop our own disclaimer. Women should not, in a bid to savage things, succumb to domestic violence. They should learn to speak up and walk out from abusive relationships. As a woman, below are some of the things you could do to make your husband love you the more: 1. Call him pet names It is boring calling your husband by your child’s name; he had an identity before he became a father. Use beautiful words for him, generate your own unique name and make him feel special. 2. Allow him to be the head No man wants his authority to be challenged as the head of the family. Learn to make him the head in his jurisdiction; do not make him feel less of a man by questioning his authority. Even if you earn more than him, being submissive would make him love you more and respect you. 3. Learn to say sorry when you are wrong Saying sorry saves you from further fights and arguments. As a woman, it may be up to you to let peace reign. Please, sorry and thank you are words we should learn to use always. Do not say apologize grudgingly, do it with a gesture of affection. 4. Make him his favorite dish when he is broke Men go through lots of mental stress when they are broke. This is because they know they have a family who depends on them for their survival. You can ease your husbands’ stress by making him his favorite meal when he is low on cash. By doing this, you are lending him support and inspire him to be better. 5. Do not leave his affairs to the maids If your husband is as important as you say he is, then make it your duty and yours only to serve him and tend to his needs. Do not assign a maid to him as he could become so used to them and choose the maids over you. Your husband would love you more when he sees the efforts you make in seeing to his welfare. 6. Drop him short notes Women should stop using children as excuses. Your husbands married you as a woman, not as a mother. Do not stop being that woman because you are now a mother. Remember the children would leave some day and you would be alone again. Would you be strangers or friends then? Drop him notes and call him to check on him while he is working. 7. Help him undress each day If you want your husband to love you more, make it your duty to give him a warm embrace when he returns. Help him undress and rub his back while he is having his shower. This would draw you two closer each day and help him save his energy for you. 8. Learn to pray for him While you do not like to be disturbed early in the morning, adapt to a new system of waking up while he gets up to dress for work. Pray for him and pray with him. It would give him a sense of assurance; he would also love you more for that. If there are other women apart from you, they would gradually lose their holds on him. 9. Do not starve him sexually Most women make their husbands beg them before they agree to sleep with them. This is wrong! A man is expected to wake up with a hard on, be readily available for this. He may be too tired at night to lift a finger so touch him then till he gets the urge to drive into you. 10. Encourage him to take care of his family members The woman is the home maker. While your husband is busy striving to put food on the table for you and your children, be a good partner by encouraging him to do so for his family too. His parents would respect you and speak for you when you have challenges. In cases where he cheats, he would always know deep down that you are an amazing woman that cannot be compared to other women out there.

GOOD NEWS: FG to build 3 new refineries to end fuel crisis by dimexy247(m) : 8:16 pm On May 11 |
– Nigeria says it will build three refineries in Kaduna, Port Harcourt and Warri to end fuel crisis permanently
– FG also announced that it will give free gas cylinders for homes and begin exportation of fuel by 2019 Dr. Ibe kachikwu, the Minister of state for petroleum With reoccurring fuel crisis in Nigeria, the federal government has announced that it will build three refineries in Kaduna, Port Harcourt and Warri to end fuel crisis permanently. The minister of state for petroleum resources, Dr Ibe Kachikwu made this known when he spoke at a town hall meeting organised by the Federal Ministry of Information in Kaduna. He said when completed as planned by 2018, Nigeria will, for the first time, start exporting refined petroleum products. He also unveiled the government’s plan to provide every household with free gas cylinder before the end of next year, to stop dependence on kerosene for cooking. The minister said the Federal Government would in the next few days unveil a new policy to address fuel subsidy. “We are coming up with a policy in the next few days that will allow us develop the price modulation that allows us swing our price along with international pricing. “We are now transiting into fuel modulating pricing because we do not have sufficient foreign exchange to continue fuel importation we have been doing. “Therefore, NNPC has to produce about 100 per cent of the product, that is the cause of the scarcity. “The Federal Government has struggled to offset about N600 billion subsidy balance when the administration came into power.†Speaking on oil exploration in Northern Nigeria, the minister said the government had invited investors to explore for oil in the region. “I am one of those who believe that with modern technology, oil and gas exist in every part of Nigeria. We are putting a lot of investment and we are inviting people to invest money. We have set up a department which is doing three things for the North. “First, we are going bullishly and trying to find oil and it is in our own interest, especially given the problems we find with pipelines. “We are focusing on clean energy, solar; we should be able to provide sufficient solar energy in the northern part of this country.†According to Kachikwu, “the refineries to be built will take advantage of the shared facilities. And if we do this, by 2018, if all our refineries are working, we will drop importation by 60 per cent. And by 2019, if the four located refineries begin to work and I’m sure they will, we will actually begin to export petroleum product for the first time in this country.†Meanwhile, Nigeria has been secretly exchanging its crude oil for refined petroleum products to the detriment of revenue accruing from sale of crude oil

Domestic violence: My husband ties me up, rapes me daily – Victim cries out by dimexy247(m) : 11:33 pm On May 11 |
Following the death of the Lagos-based banker, Ronke Shonde, who was allegedly killed by her husband, Lekan, a woman identified only as Esther, a 27-year-old victim of domestic violence has spoken out. Esther told Channels TV on Tuesday that she had been a victim of domestic violence for the past seven years but held on to her marriage because she had nowhere else to go. She revealed how she was impregnated at 18 due to the hostility in her by her stepfather. She said after the birth of her child, the father of her child began abusing and beating her. â€My problems began after my mother remarried 10 years after my father died,†She said. “My step father does not want to see me. He hates me and my kid brother with a passion. He keenly shows me hatred to the extent that whenever he is at home, I can’t go into the house, I hang around, and I will not even be able to sleep in the house. “Owing to this treatment from my stepfather, I had to leave his house since the condition there was unbearable and I got into a relationship with a man and my life became a living hell. “I have no access to anything in the house; when he wants to go out, he will disconnect the wires and lock up the refrigerator. He denies my basic needs by locking up vital items in the house while he went to work. “When he is at home, I can’t come out to his presence, I can’t sit on the bed or chair unless he asks me to. He would always say I didn’t come to his house with chair so I can’t sit on it. “I became pregnant for him at 18 and safely put to birth. “My baby was 9 days old when my husband started sleeping with me. I will complain of pains and he would not care. He will shout at me, tie up my hands and legs to have s*x with me daily. “I endured all these because I had nowhere to go. I was there until I had 2 children for him despite the torture. “After 2 more children and 3 abortions, I knew I had to move on with my life, else I will die in that house. “I left the relationship after 7 years,†She narrated. Esther and her children currently reside in the Ijora area of the state with her mother. Esther advised abused women to speak out as soon as possible, adding that the only way to break free from the abuse was to break the bond of silence.

I am Not Interested in Apologies from David Cameron – Buhari by dimexy247(m) : 11:40 pm On May 11 |
President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday said he is more interested in repatriating Nigeria’s stolen assets than any apology from British Prime Minister, David Cameron, following sour remarks ahead of the Anti – Corruption Summit in London. He said this during a question and answer session with journalists after delivering a keynote address on “Why We Must Tackle Corruption Together†at a pre-summit conference of development partners, the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council, Transparency International and other civil society groups. Mr Cameron was caught on camera telling the Queen that the UK would be greeting leaders of some ‘fantastically corrupt’ nations on Thursday and citing Nigeria and Afghanistan as one of those countries. The Anti-corruption Summit that will begin in the UK on Thursday is expected to come up with a declaration that will make it faster to repatriate all stolen funds back to their countries of origin. The Acting High Commissioner of Nigeria to the United Kingdom, Mr Simon Orga, said the declaration would remove all obstacle and bottlenecks that had impeded the repatriation of such funds. Agreement will also be reached on the repatriation or extradition of persons that had looted their nation’s funds to ensure they faced trial. Mr Orga expressed optimism that the summit would remove all impediments to the efforts of the Nigerian President to get all stolen money in the UK repatriated. “At the end of the conference there will be a declaration and it will focus on all stolen wealth that are in the UK to have them repatriated. “It will be faster to facilitate the repatriation of the assets that are abroad and even the people behind it, leaving abroad could be extradited to Nigeria. “It has gone beyond the shores of Nigeria and many world leaders already know the implication of fighting corruption and that is why they have conveyed the summit,†he told journalists present.
British PM David Cameron British Prime Minister David Cameron has explained his comment after describing Nigeria as being a ‘fantastically corrupt’ country. The news about David Cameron’s description of Nigeria spread like wild fire and had the internet abuzz. The British PM was taking questions in parliament on Wednesday, May 11, the day after he was caught on camera telling Queen Elizabeth that leaders of some “fantastically corrupt†are visiting United Kingdom. Angus Robertson, SNP Westminster leader, then asked a question about the anti-corruption summit and the allegedly corrupt nations. Addressing the question, Cameron said the point of the summit being held in London is to show that action to tackle corruption is needed by developed as well as developing countries. Cameron says the government is taking steps to ensure “plundered money from African countries can’t be hidden in London.†Meanwhile, President Buhari has revealed that he does not want an apology from Cameron, but a return of the assets that were taken out of his country and sent to the UK.

Nigerian music entertainer, born Chinedu Okoli, popularly known as Flavour, has debunked rumours making the rounds that he is having a sexual affair with female colleague, Chidinma Ekile, better known as Ms Kedike. The duo had been rumoured to be dating after they were seen in public places kissing on several occasions and in one of his hit songs, Ololufe, where he featured the star singer. Debunking the rumours, the ‘N’abania’ crooner explained that the chemistry between them was only about music. Flavor, in an interview with Soundcity, said their music is more authentic when they sing together and people tend to connect more. He said, “Chidinma is just my friend. Our strong vibe comes from how deeply we feel about music, sometimes, when you want to do a music video, you want to make it look real. “We are not the first people. You see the likes of Drake, Nicki Minaj giving lap-dance on stage. “Are you feeling it? It’s not about the kissing. People felt the song; they were swept away by our delivery, it was so original, that’s why people were all thinking that there was something going on between us.†When asked about the kiss he gave her at their live performance in Onitsha, Anambra state, the single father of two said, “We wanted to be free! “For real, there is nothing going on. We are just very good friends and I respect her for that,†he quipped.

I did not marry Obasanjo for money, he doesn’t joke with it – Wife by dimexy247(m) : 3:59 am On May 12 |
Wife of Nigeria’s former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, Bola, says her husband does not joke with money and does not like lazy people. She said this on Wednesday at the Ogun State 3rd Investors’ Forum. Bola said she did not marry the elder statesman for his money. She said, “I thank God that I am with baba. Don’t think that it is because of his money, not at all, he doesn’t joke or mess around with his money. “If he says he loves you, you must be hardworking. We nicknamed baba, wole joko jeun (enter, sit and eat) because of his busy nature. He is always attending to people. He has got answer to everybody’s problem. “At times in our house, we receive over 100 guests in a single day, and we serve food to them.
