The management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) says it has disassociated itself from a rumor circulating the media about a 3-week orientation for BATCH A 2017 (stream 1 & 2). The NYSC, in a statement released on Wednesday, said all information about the orientation shall be posted via their official pages. The Media Officer of the Super Eagles, Toyin Ibitoye, has said that captain of the team, John Obi Mikel, will return to the squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa next month.

Mikel Obi was missing as coach Gernot Rohr released a list of players for Nigeria’s friendly against Corsica on Monday.

But Ibitoye has clarified the situation in a tweet, saying: “the 25-man Super Eagles list out on Monday is for the Corsica friendly/Paris camp, not for the 2019 AFCON clash versus South Africa.

“At the end of May, the list of players for 2019 AFCON qualifiers versus Bafana Bafana on June 10 2017 in Uyo will be released.”

Assistant captain of the team, Ogenyi Onazi, was also left out.

Rohr however included four players from the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL): Stephen Odey, Sikiru Olatunbosun, Alhassan Ibrahim and Ikechukwu Ezenwa.

A woman has been left devastated after her husband died while surfing at a beach north of Perth, just two months after their wedding. Trent Walker, 36, was surfing at Dewars Beach in Two Rocks on a Saturday morning two weeks ago when he collapsed in the water, reported The West Australian.
He was pulled from the water by friends and given CPR, but was unable to be resuscitated.

The circumstances surrounding his death are unconfirmed, as he was reported to be fit, healthy and a talented surfer.

Mr Walker's wife Lauren told The West Australian she was devastated and said she had 'lost her soulmate and love of her life'.
The couple were only married eight weeks ago in Margaret River in the state's south west.

'My darling husband, words can’t describe the pain I feel with the loss of you,' Mrs Walker said. 'You were taken from us way too early and no one understands why. 'I will love you forever.'
A Go Fund Me page has been set up to support Ms Walker with a target of $18,000, but it has already raised more than $22,000.

The singer who had earlier put up a post when she was still missing says she had been missing since April 28th, and was found killed and burnt beyond recognition by an abusive ex-boyfriend. She shared a private conversation she had with Karabo and wrote;

Controversial property speculator and Lagos-based businessman, Mr. Felix Ezeamama, has been accused of manhandling the occupants of an apartment on Kingsway Road, Ikoyi, Lagos who include a 90-year-old woman, Alhaja Halima Abubakar. It was learned that Ezeamama led some uniformed men and hoodlums armed with machetes and another dangerous weapon to the Block A, Flat 1 and 2 of the apartment at about 4 am on May 6, 2017.
Daughter of the nonagenarian, Aisha Abubakar, who narrated the ordeal of her grandmother, said the thugs asked the three of the occupants who also include her mother to sit on the floor as they destroyed their property in addition to allegedly carting away her mother’s gold jewelry and cash.

“We heard bangs on the gates as they arrived at our home in the early hours,” Aisha said.

“They hit the gates so hard that we initially thought they were robbers. They broke down the gates and the wall, forced themselves into my mother’s room and then dragged us out. We tried to escape but they threatened to kill us if we dared.

“I sat defenseless as they took my mother’s trinket. They also took foreign currencies and about N7million-proceeds from the sale of her wares and took foodstuff from the refrigerator.”

The grandmother also showed the cuts she sustained from the attack to our correspondent, saying the incident had left her devastated.
Meanwhile, the matter of the disputed property is before Justice Wasiu Animasahun at the Lagos State High Court in Ikeja, where Alhaja Halima Abubakar has accused Mr. Ezeamama of forcibly snatching the offer letter issued to her by the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing as proof of ownership of the Kingsway Road apartment.

Alhaja Abubakar said the property was allocated to her by the Federal Government when the government resolved to divest all buildings and lands in Lagos State.

She claimed that while herself and the 13 other occupants of the flats negotiated with the Federal Government Implementation Committee, Mr. Ezeamama had requested to be granted permission to interface with the government on their behalf due to his experience in property business.

“Upon our consent, he expressed his intention to acquire our interest in the property once we received an offer letter from the government and offered to purchase each flat at the cost of N7million,” Alhaja Abubakar disclosed, adding that Mr. Ezeamama proceeded to pay a non-refundable fee of N500,000 to each of the tenants as “commitment fee” and promised to pay the balance after the deal had been perfected by the government.
She, however, said that things turned sour after Mr. Ezeamama tampered with the terms of Agreement.

According to Alhaja Abubakar’s lawyer, Mr. Carlos Mbaka, his client owns two flats (Flats 1 and 2) out of the fifteen flats in the premises and ought to get 14 million for the sales of both flats but Mr. Ezeamama insisted he would pay her N7million just like the other tenants with one flat each.

The lawyer also claimed that the disagreement led to his client’s offer letter being snatched from her by Mr. Ezeamama, after which the matter was reported at the police station.
In the suit filed by Alhaja Abubakar’s lawyer against Mr. Ezeamama, Web Towers Limited, Mr. Ezeamama’s property company, and the Registrar of Titles Federal Land Registry, she stated that sometimes in 1992, the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing by a letter dated June 10, 1992 with ref No-HMW/41026/SAII/06/VOL1/3837 allocated to her flats 1 and 2 of Block A, 41 Kingsway Road Ikoyi. She prayed the court for a declaration that she should remain in possession as the owner of the property.

Alhaja Abubakar, who is the claimant, also asked the court to declare that she could not be compelled to sell her interest to the defendants or anyone acting for them while urging the court to declare that the purported Acceptance Form being paraded by the first and second defendants was obtained by fraud, as well as a perpetual injunction restraining the defendants, their agents and any other person from trespassing on the property.
The defendants, however, argued through their lawyer, Mr. C.O. Ejezie, that the claimant had employed the services of several solicitors to ensure that the property was offered to her with the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and other contracts entered into between her and the first defendant, urging the court to declare the claimant's rejection of the offer of N7million as a breach of contract while also praying the court to order the claimant to vacate the property and pay the sum of N2.8million as damage.

Saharareporters learnt that Mr. Ezeamama has gained notoriety for harassing owners of properties over disputes that were already in court. He was variously reported in the media to have brutalized business owners at 17 Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos on September 19, 2016, over payment of rent.
It was also learnt that the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), the Federal Government’s agency established to resolve non-performing loans with Nigerian banks, had filed a debt recovery action against Mr. Ezeamama on the said property in Ikoyi. He was consequently restrained from dealing with or charging any existing tenants’ rents as the court order expressly directed that all tenants were to accord recognition to AMCON as the de-facto landlord.

Despite the restraining order, however, Mr. Ezeamama was reported to have hired some thugs to evict, harass and brutalize the tenants to force them into paying him rent.

Russian blogger has been convicted for inciting religious hatred for playing “Pokemon Go” in a church and given a suspended sentence.

Ruslan Sokolovsky posted a video on his blog last year showing him playing the smartphone game in a church built on the supposed spot where the late Russian star and his family were killed. He has been in detention since October.

Judge Yekaterina Shoponyak on Thursday found Sokolovsky guilty of inciting religious hatred and gave him to a 3 ½-year suspended sentence. It is the same offense that sent two women from the Pussy Riot punk collective to prison for two years in 2012.

She earlier said Sokolovsky’s behavior and his anti-religious videos manifested his “disrespect for society” and that Sokolovsky “intended to offend religious sentiments.”

Nollywood Actress, Mercy Aigbe who is currently in a legal tussle with her husband, Lanre Gentry over domestic violence has said that she still wants to build a home with her husband, adding that they just need some help.

Gentry was on Tuesday sent to Kirikiri prison over allegations of domestic violence by the actress.

However, the actress in an interview with Broadway Africa disclosed that she came out in public because she needed to seek help for her husband, adding that she does not have the plan to dump him.

According to her, she had stayed to endure all the beating because she did not want to disappoint people that see her as a role model and also for her children.

“My husband was in detention for over seven months and I never left him or go anywhere. Why would I want to go now? He says all this is make-up. He is not showing any form of remorse and still sponsoring lies against me.

“It’s not like I wanted to walk away but I just feel like we need help. I spoke to my husband’s brother about it. I told him I was going to pack out for some time while my husband seeks therapy.

“I just wanted to feel safe, that is why I moved my things out. This last beating was brutal. I actually thought I was going to die. I’m still coughing and sneezing blood even after three weeks.

“I stayed because of my children and because a lot of people look up to me. I was a role model of some sort and I really wanted to keep it together. I just wanted a home,” she said.

When asked how long the beating had continued, she said for as far back as 2013.

Women must struggle for political power says Governor Wike

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has advised women to struggle for power, rather than expect that men will bequeath power to them on a platter of gold.

This is as Former First Lady of Nigeria, Dame Patience Jonathan declared that Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has worked hard to empower Rivers women.

Also, Wife of the Rivers State Governor, Justice Eberechi Suzzette Nyesom-Wike described  her husband  as a women-friendly governor who is implementing  policies and programmes to uplift  women.

They spoke at the Women's Day of the Rivers Golden Jubilee Celebration in Port Harcourt on Thursday.

Governor Wike said that nobody is stopping women from excelling  in the political arena, pointing  out  that women must work  for their political  emancipation.

He said: "When it comes to power, you have to struggle for  it. If you  are prepared for politics, you must equipment yourself ".

The governor urged women  not to beg for positions. He said they should set up structures that would help them get political  mileage.

He, however, assured Rivers women that he will  continue to work for their development  and growth in all spheres  of life.

The governor  announced that his administration  will  construct  a women development  centre with all facilities to empower Women.

Former First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan said Rivers women will remain grateful  to Governor Wike  for giving them political and professional leverage.

She said that the governor's  choice of female deputy governor  and the appointment of the first female Chief Judge and President of Customary Court of Appeal ensured that Rivers women took their pride of place in politics.

Wife of the Rivers State Governor, Justice Eberechi Suzzette Nyesom-Wike said the Women's Day  is set aside to honour women for their contributions  to  the  creation and growth of the state.

While saying that efforts to empower Women must be strengthened, Justice Nyesom-Wike noted that women have attained  positions of responsibility, not envisaged  before.

In her guest lecture, Wife of Former President of Nigeria, Professor Uche Nnamdi Azikiwe said violence can only be reduced across the world when women assume  leadership.

In her paper titled: "Status of Women and politics in Nigeria ",,Prof  Azikiwe said the political  marginalisation  being suffered by women  are man-made.

She urged women to unite  and play significant  roles in their respective communities. She called for urgent steps  to address the dwindling fortunes of women in Nigerian politics.

Chairman of the Rivers Golden Jubilee Committee, Chief Ferdinand Alabrabra lauded Rivers women for their roles in the development of the state.

The Women's Day of the Rivers Golden Jubilee Celebration witnessed Special Songs by New Rivers Vision Women Team, cuisine, art and craft competition, traditional dances and traditional fashion parade.

I’m Still Coughing blood

My Husband Was Sleeping With a Girl 
Also revealed that the last incident started few days before when she discovered that her husband was sleeping with a lady.

A lady she claimed to be her friend whom she was close to. This was a regular attitude from her husband; a man she claims has slept with a lot of people close to her, even her PAs. She confronted him and it led to a huge argument which was turning violent before she had to keep quiet.

He Kept Beating Me. On the day of the incident, Mercy had informed her husband that she was attending a burial of her colleague. After his hesitance, she explained that it would not be fair on the lady since she had promised to be there and even invited him to come along.

Mercy revealed that it was her refusal to go and pick her husband up while she was still at her designer’s place that brought the fury of the man on her. He was said to have driven there and started to beat her in the presence of everybody.

“Immediately, I opened the door, he kept beating me. I was begging him and asking why he was beating me. He said he would destroy my face such that no make-up would fix it and destroy my career. He was acting like someone who was possessed. I told him “Lanre, mo ma bi mo fun e” (translated as “I have a child for you").

I agree that I am a fool 
In the exclusive interview, Mercy said she agrees that she was a fool for staying that long even with all the beating and humiliation. “I believed that a wise woman builds her home. That’s why I stayed that long”, she said.

About Cheating 
“If he had shown a bit of remorse, maybe things would have been different. He went on saying that I cheated on him several times. I never cheated. That’s why I told him to come out with proof”, she said.

My Husband was in detention for over 7 months 
“My husband was in detention for over seven months and I never left him or go anywhere. Why would I want to go now? He says all this is make-up. He is not showing any form of remorse and still sponsoring lies against me."

A viral video of a porn star being attacked by a shark is a fake, a diver has claimed. Molly Cavalli was filmed jumping into a cage in just a skimpy swimsuit as a number of lemon sharks were apparently nearby (see HERE).
In the clip posted online, within seconds one attacked - leaving her with a nasty bite on her ankle. Some viewers were a little skeptical of the picture Molly later posted on social media of her injuries.

And now a veteran shark diver has come forward to claim the whole thing was a stunt.

Bryce Rohrer, owner and operator of Florida Shark Diving, said he was approached by CamSoda about filming a promotional video.

"[Molly] said ‘we want to do a film shoot with a few scantily-clad women diving with sharks,’ and we were kind of sceptical of even that," Mr Rohrer told RealClearLife.com. "Then once we started getting the facts of what they actually wanted to do ... we declined."
Mr Rohrer claims Ms Cavalli went on to explain that the company wanted to film a fake shark attack in the hope that the clip would go viral.

But the diver was uninterested as he thought it would be "unhelpful" for the public perception of sharks.

In a bid to convince him, the actress allegedly texted a picture of a fake foot wound.
"Just wanted to show you what the bite would look like. It’s more of a little knick," the alleged text says. "We were doing this as I was speaking to you today. "I know that you are shark lovers and don’t want it to be a negative thing on sharks but I just wanted to show you that it’s not some huge aggressive a bite if that makes a difference."

If, as claimed, the attack was staged to gain publicity, it has worked.
The clip has clocked up more than 14million views on YouTube.
