Davido Finally Opens Up About Alleged Beef With Burna Boy & Wizkid by Folake(f) : 7:02 am On Oct 03

Sensational singer, Davido has finally opened up about his alleged beef with Wizkid and Burna Boy.

It’s no longer news that there has been some sort of rivalry between Davido and his fellow industry heavyweights, Wizkid and Burna Boy.  For years, fans still butt heads on social media every day, arguing about whose fav is the better and greater artiste. In a recent interview with Ebuka Ebuka for a Bounce Radio, Davido addressed the alleged beef with the singers.

According to him, he and Wizkid have known each other for a long time before things went sour when they both started getting bigger. He said that he never started any beef with Wizkid but said that fans of both of them made the whole thing a competition. He blamed the fans especially for not making things easier for them and also explained how they both came together to perform for Wizkid’s show.

Davido recounted how in 2017, Wizkid had called for Mayorkun to come to perform in his show. Wizkid’s bodyguard later reached out to Davido to come for the show and from there history was made. When asked why after the performance, there were still signs of beef between them, Davido said that he thinks they listen to their warring fans too much. He admitted to the fact that the beef helped propel their career but said they didn’t do it on purpose or never used it to chase clout.

Speaking on his alleged beef with Burna Boy, Davido said his track “FEM” wasn’t about him but for people that like to troll him. He added that he would love to resolve whatever issue he has with the “Way Too Big” singer. He also lamented that people in the music industry like to make him the bad guy for no reason.

He added that he once met Burna’s dad who called him “his son” and also how he likes to address issues with music just like he did with the Dele Momodu and Caroline issue. He said that Burna Boy and he are brothers, that he was the happiest of Burna’s success.

Author Stacy Amewoyi Writes: “What Do You Do When Life Turns Sour” by Folake(f) : 7:16 am On Oct 14

A feeling or an expression of resentment, disappointment, or anger can be termed as sour. A life gone sour or a sour life could also be when life becomes less enjoyable, pleasant, or good.

When there is enough trouble at every angle, when the love you look so much forward to comes to an abrupt halt and the relationship at the work place begins to go bad, one’s world could look hopeless at that stage. These are stages where you would hear the common phrase of, “I now believe my life is gone sour.”

They are moments of mistrust and misjudgment; a period of disgust and hatred, frustration and bitterness, unhealthy competition and enviousness and at worst the contemplation on suicide.

One common mistake we make is the fact that, we think we are in charge, but in actual sense we are not. We believe to have made the perfect plans but on the scheduled day, there goes a heavy downpour.

We are bugged with this unknown sickness all of a sudden, or our reliance absents himself, or even the lights go off. Terrifying is the traffic jam. I just want to remind you that you are never in charge of anything in this world, not even your life.

The good book says that, though we may make all the plans, it is our good Lord who perfects them all. So you can plan all you can, get all the links, but if it’s not in the will of God, your plans will come to ruin.

No matter the backup plans you make, just come to an understanding that, you live in an imperfect world. Circumstances go awry and people do stupid things, that’s life, and that’s how it is.

The adventures of life are to learn. The purpose of life is to grow; the nature of life is to change. The challenges of life are to overcome the essence of life is to care, the opportunity of life is to serve, the secret of life is to dare, the spice of life is to befriend and the beauty of life is to give.

Let’s learn to give glory to God in all of these by picking up the pieces left and making a better return from learning from our mistakes. Another thing is to surround ourselves with people who uplifts our spirits not dumping them. It is a perfect choice. It could be your spouse, siblings or parents.

Healthy friendships are built on mutual good will, so it’s not unreasonable to feel hurt by inconsiderate behavior, but it is unreasonable to feel that your friends are obligated to you.

If a friend lets you down, it’s disappointing for sure, but you’re not entitled to some sort of emotional compensation. If you are in a friendship with someone who repeatedly takes more than they give, the purposeful thing to do is to stop giving so much and re-evaluate the friendship. Not get angry and seek reparation or retribution.

The more you know who you are and what you want, the less things upset you. You have to let people go, everyone who is in your life is meant to be in your journey but not all of them are meant to stay till the end.

Men marry women with the hope, that they will never change, women marry men with the hope that they will change, invariably, they are both disappointed. Albert Einstein. Therefore, don’t rely on someone else for your happiness or self-worth, only you can be responsible for that.

Pain changes people, it makes them trust less, overthink more and shut people out. Hence, when you find no solution to a problem in life, it’s probably not a problem to be solved but rather a truth to be accepted.

With that notwithstanding, if uncertainty is high, the constant internal churn of thwarted desire can curdle into resentment. Elation turns to anger and instead of pleasant daydream fantasies, rumination becomes more bitter.

But responding by giving in to those resentments is a big mistake, and a major barrier to recovery. You are only hurting yourself, it robs you of your agency making a belief that, the sourness has power over you, but no. Your giving in, has rather rendered you powerless.

A thousand words will not leave so deep an impression as one’s deed, meaning actions have a greater impact on a person. “They hurt me so I’ll hurt them back” is a pretty toxic thought.

It can lead you to do things that compromise your integrity out of misplaced indignation and the belief that it’s okay to punish others for their bad behavior. Escalating revenge is a spiral you don’t want to get caught up in.

Who you used to be no longer exist, so stop reliving the past. Though the pain may cause so much damage, disallow it from taking center stage of your life. Focus on those that brighten you up and move on. Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass but learning to dance in the rain.

You were never created to be depressed, defeated, guilty, condemned, ashamed or unworthy. You are victorious. Seek to be the best, not arrogantly or in a crooked manner, but what refreshes your own soul.

If you can’t love and respect yourself, no one else will be able to make that happen. Accept who you are completely, the good and the bad, and make changes as you see fit not because someone else wants you to be different.

Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding. It can be helpful to take those feelings of anger and frustration and use them to realize that it isn’t this hugely desirable person.

Recognize that, the sick feelings of resentment are coming from your decision to stay connected to them. Come to terms that if you continue to indulge with that obsession, those gross feelings are going to carry on.

By choosing to continue a relationship with your sourness, you are inviting in these awful feelings. You can use that to teach yourself that being around pain makes you feel bad.

The solution, of course, is to stop being around things that put you down. Relief from your sourness means liberation from those bitter thoughts and feelings. It’s the classic message of recovery: don’t look to them to save you, just go ahead and save yourself.

Obstacles bind us together, strengthening the foundation of disallowing it to overcome you and having the urge to moving on without looking back at the faults, introduces you to a more optimistic and happy life. Lean not on your understanding either but put God first.

Laser Cameras, Not CCTV Removed At Lekki Tollgate ― Sanwo-Olu by Folake(f) : 7:03 am On Oct 23

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has debunked claims that the close-circuit television at the Lekki toll gate was removed before the shooting of #EndSARS protesters by masked men believed to be soldiers.

Mr Sanwo-Olu said during a live programme on ARISE TV on Thursday that the CCTV captured the shooting and that it would be submitted to the judicial panel on police brutality, extra-judicial killings and extortion.

“I will just speak up the truth on what actually happened. There are security personnel of The Lekki Concession Company on the ground. I had called the Managing Director that night when I saw the pictures. What he said to me is that because of the curfew that has been announced, they took a decision that they will take out installations that are critical to them,” he said.

“That camera that you saw is not a security camera or a motion camera. The camera is a laser camera for vehicles. It picks the tag on cars and number plate.

“It is not for a camera for human beings. It is an infrared camera that just picks the tag on the vehicles. Security camerals for the plaza are still available. These are some of the footage that we are going to use for our investigation. Security cameras are installed on top of towers and they are there because I have seen them. Nobody can touch the security camera.

“These are things that we can leave open for citizens to come and verify when the panel of enquiries start. We will adopt this as evidence so that experts can come and review what kind of cameras are those shown at the footage.”

When asked if the footage of the cameras can be assessed, he replied “absolutely”.

The management of the Lekki Concession Company Limited (LCC) has also released a statement saying the CCTV at the Lekki toll gate is intact.

DJ Switch Shares Her Heartbreaking Experience At The #EndSARS Lekki Toll Gate massacre by Folake(f) : 2:38 am On Oct 26

On Tuesday, 20 October 2020, an unforgettable day in Lagos, peaceful protesters at Lekki toll gate, a key rallying point for peaceful demonstrations, witnessed the brutal massacre of innocent youths by officers of the Nigerian Army, injuring and killing several people.

What started out as a peaceful protest for a better Nigeria, and better governance, turned into bloody and unforgettable unrest.

DJ Switch who was among the peaceful protesters, was present when soldiers opened fire and streamed the scene live on her Instagram, has now shared her experience.

In the video she posted on her official Instagram page, the Disc Jockey urged Nigerian leaders not to insult the intelligence of Nigerians and their families by downplaying the incident. She and other survivors took the victims’ bodies to the soldiers who took them away, something she wished they never did.

To our leaders, please I urge you not to insult the intelligence of Nigerians and their families. Something I think about now in hindsight is, I wish we had not done it, but we carried the dead bodies and dropped it at the feet of the soldiers so that they could see what they did to us. When I asked their unit commander, ‘Why are you killing us?’ I wish we had not done that because they ended up throwing the dead bodies in their vans. This happened till the next morning.

Detailing her experience before and during the shooting, she said:

Yes, there were soldiers there. Another thing people are not talking about is that the Police were also there. The SARS people we are talking about also came about 45 minutes after the soldiers left. We were tear-gassed; the tear gas felt like Cotonou pepper mixed with acid.

We would run and come back and the only thing we fought with was our flags. We would sit on the floor; raise our hands up singing the national anthem. That was all we had. They put off the lights, even if there was no power supply on a good day, in that axis, there is always light at the Toll Gate. It was pitch-black.

…A boy jumped on me and kept shouting, ‘cover her, cover her.’ I did not even understand why he did that. They shot that boy while he was on my back.

In the video, she showed some of the bullets the protester picked up as proof.

While the soldiers were picking their shells, we were running around picking their shells too because we wanted proof.

The military, they were there on Nigerian soil, killing Nigerian citizens. The police and SARS people came doing the same thing. Aiming and shooting; aiming, they were pointing the guns at us and shooting live bullets. Who takes live bullets to a protest? Who does that?

She added that claims of 78 people dying during the shooting are totally false; however, she said she counted about 15 dead people.

I also want to appeal to the people opening fake accounts in my name; please it is already hard as it is. People risked their lives to get me out of the place I call my home. Please, stop saying things you do not know. I understand things are hard and difficult. In this era of social media, you want to get followership that can help you make some money; I understand but at least copy the truth and put it out. That is all I am asking.

Please, I never said 78 people died, I do not know that. I do know that as at the time I was doing the Live video, seven people had died. When my battery died we had counted about 15 people. I don’t know if it was more than that because we had a lot of people that were hit by stray bullets. 78 people? I do not know where you got that information from.

She said she will still continue with the peaceful protest.

We must continue to move because if we stop, it might take the next 60 years before we talk about this again. We must continue but we must continue peacefully.

I condemn any sort of violence. I condemn the burning of buses and the source of people’s livelihood. I know we are angry but the most powerful weapon we have is peace. Let us continue, I cannot wait to come back because I will definitely be back on the street peacefully.

Court Fixes Nov.26, For Hearing Of Appeal Against Death Sentence by Folake(f) : 7:01 am On Oct 27

A High Court sitting in Kano on Monday fixed Nov. 26 for hearing in an appeal filed by Yahaya Sharif-Aminu against the judgment of an Upper Sharia Court which condemned him to death for blasphemy.

Those joined in the suit are Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje and Commissioner of Justice and Attorney General.

Mr Sharif-Aminu prayed for the court to set aside the lower court judgment, arguing that it was unconstitutional, null and void.

“Having grossly violated and conflicted with the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended.

“Having violated the African Charter on human and people’s rights and the universal declaration of human right respectively,” he argued.

Sulieman Usman a representative of the appellant’s counsels, prayed for adjournment of the case to enable them appear before the court.

“The appellant lawyer are in Lagos, they served on a short notice on Oct. 22, we need more time to be in Kano,” he said.

However, counsel to the respondent Musa Abdullahi-Lawan told the court that no service addresses were provided when they served with first motion and affidavit.

The court therefore adjourned the case to November 26 for hearing.

An Upper Sharia Court had on August 10 sentenced the appellant to death by hanging after his conviction for blasphemy under Section 382 (b) of the Kano State Sharia Panel Code Law 2000.
