Katsina Housewives Who Were Chained For 10 Months By Their Husband Take Action by Folake(f) : 9:33 pm On Feb 14

Housewives chained

The victims

According to a report by Punch Metro, two housewives whose husband, Samaila Musa, allegedly locked up, chained and subjected to inhuman treatment for 10 months in the Rimi Local Government Area of Katsina State, on Thursday urged a Katsina Upper Sharia Court to dissolve their marriage to the man.

Fatima and Hadiza, both 20, prayed the court to dissolve their marriage, insisting that Musa violated their fundamental human rights.

The housewives told the Sharia Court that Musa, among others, starved, prevented them from interacting with their family members and forcefully shaved their hairs for unknown purposes.

The duo further told the court that if permitted, they were ready to expose other atrocities that Musa allegedly perpetrated against them.

The two women, who were present at the court sitting, showed the pictures of their alleged maltreatment.

Their counsel, Hamisu Malumfashi, who led a team of lawyers to the court, cited several instances in the Holy Quran to justify the divorce request.

Malumfashi told the court that there were witnesses, including the police, who were ready to testify in the case.

Musa, who was also brought to the court by the police, denied all the allegations.

He told the court that he was being framed up.

The court’s Alkali (judge), Ali Ingawa, adjourned the case till  February 20, 2020, to enable the witnesses to testify.

A Katsina-based non-governmental organisation, Gender and Social Inclusion, had approached the court on behalf of the duo and filed a case of infringement on their human rights.

The police had on  January 23, 2020, arrested Musa following a tip-off at Yan-Mabayye village in Rimi  LGA.

The spokesman for the Katsina State Police Command, SP Gambo Isah, who gave reasons for the arrest, said on January 23, 2020, around 3.30pm, a team of policemen, led by DPO Rimi division, uncovered the house where the suspect incarcerated his two wives and shackled them with a chain in one room.

He said, “In the course of investigation, the police discovered that the victims had marks and signs of brutalisation on their bodies. They defecated in the same room where they were chained and their hair barbed for ritual purposes by the suspect.

“He also ground pepper and put it in their private parts and eyes, among others, during their menstrual periods. The suspect also asked them to clean up the semen on their clothes after having sex with them and forced them to drink the water.”

Four Powerful Reasons You Must Run From Premarital Sex On Valentine's Day by Folake(f) : 3:33 am On Feb 15

Valentine

By Sunday Akanni Moshood

Please, don't joke with these things, and ignore people that would take them with levity.

1. It Makes You Unguarded And Open To Attacks:

If you want to go far in life, you must take spiritual things more serious. The physical things that happens around us which we can see with our eyes, are mere reflections of the things that had already happened in the spiritual realm.

In the spiritual realm, everytime, every moment, the evil devil and his evil cohorts keeps roaming about looking for those to destroy.

However, you are being guarded by God your Creator in the spiritual realm, as He has put a hedge of protection around you that prevents evil darts from the evil ones from getting to you.

But once you had premarital sex, you commit a sin that makes you slip away from God's hedge of protection. Sin separates man from God - God is a Holy God Who won't have anything to do with the dirt of sin.

This will open you to attacks from satan and his evil demons (spiritual attacks, physical attacks, financial attacks, health-related attacks, marital attacks, etc)

2. It Can Send You To Your Early Grave:

You should agree by now that the richest place in the world is the graveyard - because many people (especially young ones) died unfulfilled. Those meant to be great inventors, scientists, lawyers, politicians, sport men/women, writers, etc, died untimely without becoming what they are destined to be.

NOTE THIS: Many Of Them Dug Their Graves With Their Own Hands While They Were Still Alive

Premarital sex is sending people (especially our young ones with bright futures) to their early untimely graves. Sexual Transmitted Diseases keeps killing our youngsters every year. Do you know thousands of young people have died as a result of HIV? Condoms? Condoms can't help them!

After having premarital sex and getting an 'unwanted pregnancy', many ladies resorted to abortion. As a lady, when you have sex this Valentine Day and you get pregnant, what will you do? Abortion? Listen, IT CAN SEND YOU TO YOUR UNTIMELY GRAVE! According to reports, about 68,000 women die of unsafe abortion every year!

Why not just run away from premarital sex and wait till you get married to enjoy sex comfortable?

Those babies being aborted (they are murdered), you are sending them too to their untimely graves because they also have their own lives to live and destinies meant to fulfilled. Indeed, premarital sex sends people to their early graves!

3. You Will Defile The Temple Of God, And There Are Severe Punishments For That:

Some young people would say 'It's my body, I can live the way I like'.

What is that supposed to mean? Did you create yourself? No of course! God created you well, and He wants your body to be a temple He can dwell (because He loves you)

In the Bible, according to 1 Corinthians 6, you do not belong to yourself, but to God. And your body should not be used for sexual immoralities, but to serve the Lord (because He has bought you with a price by sending His only Begotten Son Jesus Christ to die for your sins).

God being the Creator of sex has ordered that all manner of sexual activities must be between a husband and his wife in the safe confine of their marriage union, with no other party involved.

Any other thing is a sin to God. When you commit a sin, you are insulting God - and it will attract punishments. What you sow is what you reap. If you are disobedient to God, you will definitely be punished. God knows everything (He is the wisest). If God asked us not to do something, it is for our own good.

4. It Can Lead You To Hell Fire:

Gone are the days when only old people die constantly. Today, many young people are dying on a regular basis. What if it's your turn to die this Valentine week? What if you die on your way home after fornicating on Valentine's Day? What if you die the next day?

What if Jesus even comes when you are on that bed of immorality? And let me tell you with full confidence that JESUS CHRIST will come anytime soon! He might even come back for His saints on Valentine's Day, or the next day.

Where will you find yourself when you die, or when Jesus comes. Heaven, or Hell? Live carefully as if the trumpet will sound (or you will die) the next minute.

And if you are wise, you will avoid all forms of sins, including premarital sex on Valentine's Day and beyond.

If you are yet to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, please do so now. Just call on the Name of Jesus, and He will come to you. God bless you.

Unbelievable! Nigerian Pastor Flogs His Own Son To Death Over Alleged Witchcraft by Folake(f) : 8:02 pm On Feb 15

pastor flogs son to death

File photo

According to Punch Metro, a pastor, Amos Kosini and his wife are on the run after the self-acclaimed cleric allegedly flogged his son, Faithful, to death over allegation of witchcraft.

It was learnt that two other children of his church member, Paradise, and Godspower, also sustained severe injuries in the hands of the cleric and now in a critical condition at a hospital. Kosini was alleged to have used a wire to inflict injuries on the children.

The incident, according to sources, occurred at Ogirisen community of Elume, Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State while Kosini was conducting deliverance sessions on the children for allegedly possessing ‘evil spirits.’

The children were said to have been camped at his self-contained apartment in the agrarian community.

As the news of the incident filtered in, Kosini alongside his wife, reportedly absconded from the community in the dead of night apparently to avert an imminent attack from angry residents

Aged five years, Faithful reportedly died of the injuries inflicted on him by Kosini on Thursday, February 6, 2020.

Among the five children tortured by the cleric while conducting ‘spiritual deliverance’ are four females and a male – Paradise, Wonderful, Winner and Goodness.

Gloom pervaded every nook and cranny of the community when our correspondent visited. A community youth leader who simply identified himself as Francis, said, “The incident happened last week Thursday. He (Kosini) tortured his son to death for being a wizard and possessing evil spirits. People are sad since the incident happened because we trusted him. He killed his own son in the name of deliverance.”

When our correspondent visited the community hospital where the children were receiving treatment, a worker who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed the incident.

“Wonderful lost so much blood when she was rushed to this place. We did all we could do to revive her and she is now gradually responding to treatment,” the official said.

When contacted on the incident, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Hafiz Inuwa, said the incident had yet been reported to the police.

Kano corps members who got married in their Khaki reveal why they did by Folake(f) : 9:03 pm On Feb 15

Two serving members of the National Youth Service Corps in Kano State, who met each other during the one-year programme, Muhammad Musa and Hauwa Bagudu, recently made headlines after getting married in their khaki uniforms.

The young couple got married last Friday at the Juma’at Mosque, Nigerian Air Force Base in the state after dating for just 10 months.

In this interesting chat with Ted, the couple revealed why they rushed into marriage and their love story.

You’re from Nasarawa State, what tribe are you?

Muhammad: I am Afo from Nasarawa Local Government Area, Nasarawa. I studied History at Nasarawa State University, where I earned BA degree. My elder brother earlier married from the Yoruba community. I am the second person within our family to marry outside my tribe.

How old are you?

Muhammad: I’m 28 years old. I did not plan to get married during my service year. It was God’s plan for us to get married.

You are from Niger State, what tribe are you?

Hauwa: I am Nupe; a proud one for that matter.

How did you meet Hauwa?

Muhammad: We met at NYSC kitchen when we were in camp. We just clicked when we first met; it was love at first sight! We were both struggling to be served lunch. But the moment I saw her, I fell in love with her. However, I did not realise that it would culminate into marriage so soon. It’s God’s work.

What really attracted you to her?

Muhammad: Her simplicity and beauty were the things that attracted me to her. Also, when we started the relationship, I discovered how kind and caring she is, and those are the attributes I have always wanted in any woman that will be my life partner.

What qualities of his attracted you to Muhammad?

Hauwa: He is religious, intelligent, simple, generous, wonderful and caring. He is simply the best (man) I have ever come across. I like him because he is amiable, caring and friendly. These attributes of his attracted me to him.

How did Muhammad Musa show interest in you?

Hauwa: It was an amazing moment. When we first met, we clicked on the spot. It was love at first sight. I did not accept (to date him) that same week; it was two weeks later that I accepted.

So you initially play hard to get?

Hauwa: Yes, of course. I did because as a woman, it is our pride to prove difficult before eventually succumbing (to propositions).

What made you to accept his proposal?

Hauwa: He is just too natural and real, that was why I accepted his proposal.

You met in camp and already getting married, why did you not wait till after service year?

Muhammad: Time, they say, is of essence, and marriage is an institution ordained by God, who is the owner of our lives. I rely on this to hasten the marriage, instead of waiting for the end of our service year. I felt if I waited much longer than now, I might change my mind and start a fresh relationship with someone else who may not be right for me. So, I hastened the marriage because I felt it was an opportunity I could not afford to miss.

How long was your courtship?

Muhammad: Our courtship lasted for 10 months.

Some people believe courtship should last longer than that, how would you react to that?

Muhammad: It’s not how long the courtship lasts that matters but how well it is. What is more important is to understand each other’s behaviour, rather than a long-term courtship to understand each other.

Why are you so sure she is the right one for you?

Muhammad: During our three-week orientation, I discovered she has good character, which she demonstrated during our courtship. I also investigated and discovered that she inherited her good character from her family; she has a good family background.

What are the other things you love about her?

Muhammad: I do not only love her, my passion for her developed further when I discovered she was religious, intelligent, simple, kind, hospitable, loving and caring. I was convinced that when we start having children, she will inculcate such attributes in our children.

When you told your parents that you planned to get married to a lady you met in camp, what were their reactions?

Muhammad: My parents’ reactions were not only positive; they were also supportive of the idea. They both agreed that as long as we love each other and agree to live together in peace and tolerate each other for the rest of our lives, they were in support.

How did you tell your parents you found the man you would marry in camp and would want to get married now?

Hauwa: It was an uphill task to speak out to my parents but I later summoned courage to inform them. I told them point blank that my feelings towards him were becoming too natural and real.

And how did they react?

Hauwa: My mum was so happy about it but my dad objected to it at first for reasons best known to him. Thank God, he later accepted so as not to hurt my feelings because he believes that my happiness should come first.

How do you plan to handle the financial responsibilities that come with marriage?

Muhammad: I’m an artisan, with specialty in tiling floors.

What are your plans to handle your financial responsibilities?

Hauwa: I am serving my nation for now as a youth corps member. At the end of my service year, I will grab any opportunity that comes my way, so as to reduce the burden on the shoulders of my husband.

Some people believe it is better for a couple to start working before getting married but both of you are still corps members.

Muhammad: We will continue to do our best and allow Almighty God to provide our daily bread and needs.

What made you trust him?

Hauwa: If you meet your Mr Right, you don’t need to be told. Aside from that, his simplicity and calmness made me to truly love him. He is simply the best for me.

Some people believe that courtship should be longer, how would you react to that?

Hauwa: It’s not how far but how well. All you need in courtship is not about the duration but how well you understand each other. We were friends for few days and when we became lovers, it became so overwhelming and amazing. Everything became so interesting as my world reached its destination.

Did you receive any support for the wedding?

Muhammad: Yes, especially from my family and friends. They rallied round to ensure the success of the wedding. The NYSC band graced the unique occasion, during which they played concordant tunes to add colour to the historic wedding. NYSC members and our parents also attended the occasion to demonstrate their support for the marriage.

Did NYSC sponsor the wedding?

Muhammad: NYSC did. The Kano State NYSC Coordinator, Ladan Baba, also attended the wedding, alongside our parents and family friends. They all contributed to the success of the wedding.

You said you’re the second person in your family to marry from another tribe, did you nurse any fear before the marriage?

Muhammad: I never did because we met while we were in camp and both realised on the spot that we were meant for each other. Based on this reality, I had no fear whatsoever.

Were you initially apprehensive about marrying someone from another tribe and state?

Hauwa: Not at all, I always stand for the unity of our country, Nigeria, before my friends.

Do you think your action will inspire a lot of people and probably encourage unity in the country?

Muhammad: My action will inspire more Nigerians to marry outside their states and tribes. Also, I am not the first from my family to marry from another tribe, so I have no fear at all.

I also believe that it will not only foster unity among us, it will encourage Nigerians to love and encourage one another.

Where do you plan to settle down?

Hauwa: Suleja in Niger State.

R. Kelly Slammed With Fresh Accusation Of Sleeping With Teen Girl In 1990s by Folake(f) : 11:32 pm On Feb 15

American singer , already facing trial in three states on sexual abuse, child pornography, kidnapping and obstruction of justice charges, has been hit with an updated indictment in Chicago stemming from a newly-identified victim, court documents showed on Friday.

The superseding indictment, filed in U.S. District Court in Chicago, identifies the latest accuser only as “Minor 6” and charges Kelly, 53, with engaging in sexual acts with her in the late 1990s, when she was 14 or 15 years old.

The new charges also seek forfeiture of assets from the Grammy-winning R&B performer’s production company and a separate firm owned by his manager Derrel McDavid, a co-defendant in the Chicago case.

A victim previously included in the indictment and known as “Minor 2” was removed from the charging documents for reasons that were not made clear.

“We are aware of the superseding indictment. We continue to fight for him and look forward to the day he is free #notguilty #rkelly,” the entertainer’s criminal defense lawyer, Steve Greenberg, said on Twitter.

“The superseding indictment was expected and does not change our position. We look forward to taking this matter to trial,” McDavid’s attorney, Vadim Glozman said.

Kelly has pleaded not guilty to all criminal charges filed against him in New York, Illinois and Chicago.

The entertainer, best known for such hits as “I Believe I Can Fly” and “Bump N’ Grind,” has faced sexual abuse allegations dating back more than two decades. Some of those accusations were detailed in a Lifetime documentary, “Surviving ” first broadcast in January 2019.

Federal prosecutors in New York have also charged Kelly with running a criminal scheme in which women and underage girls were recruited to have sexual activity with him.

In that case Kelly is accused of bribing an Illinois official in August 1994 to obtain a fake identification for the singer Aaliyah so they could get married.

Kelly was then 27 and Aaliyah was 15, but according to published reports their marriage license listed Aaliyah’s age as 18. The marriage was annulled in 1995. Aaliyah died at age 22 in a 2001 plane crash in the Bahamas.

Prosecutors in the Chicago case charged Kelly last July with engaging in sex acts with five minors, recording some of the alleged abuse on video, and using threats to keep victims quiet.

Kelly was also charged last February by Illinois state prosecutors with aggravated sexual abuse, and last August by Minnesota state prosecutors with soliciting sex from a minor.

In 2008, Kelly was acquitted at trial on state child pornography charges in Illinois.

Nigerian man shares lovely photo of his “God-sent wife, 5 awesome biological children, 3 amazing adopted kids and one fantastic house maid” as he celebrates 16th wedding anniversary by Folake(f) : 1:17 am On Feb 16

A businessman from Akwa Ibom and University of Uyo graduate, Nature Udoh warmed hearts online when he shared a lovely photo with his wife, 5 biological children, 3 adopted children and their househelp on his 16th wedding anniversary today, February 15.

Udoh also used the opportunity to share insightful marriage advice.

“Celebrating 16th marriage anniversary with:
One God-sent wife,
Five awesome biological children ,
Three amazing adopted kids and
One fantastic house maid.
It’s been God all the way.
Here’s what I wish we’d known back when we got married:

“1. You’re going to fight. Every couple fights, but the amount of fighting, and what you’ll fight over will be shocking. When you’re young, and money is tight, and you’re learning things about each other, and still figuring out who you are, there will be heated misunderstandings. The key is learning how to communicate effectively and authentically.

“2. You’ll probably struggle with jealousy.
When you’re young, you might not be so great at managing difficult emotions, like jealousy. Unfortunately, getting married only amplifies that. After all, you’ve made the ultimate commitment to each other, so you’re likely to feel jealousy if your partner even suggests anyone else exists. You want to be their one and only.

“3. You’ll still be attracted to other people.
There are some beautiful people out there and you’ll look. And when you get married young, most of these people are single. Look once and let it go, that second look is what will hurt your marriage.

“4. You will need some time apart.
During the honeymoon phase, everything is chocolate and champagne. But it doesn’t take long for the day-to-day of marriage to set in and you’ll soon realize you need time apart. Don’t worry when you do need a little space; time apart will help you miss and appreciate each other more.

“5. Merging your lives can get messy.
When you get married, you’re combining two lives into one. Topics like money can get tricky. Maybe you’re still figuring out how to earn it or save it. Your vision for your lives may change as you get older; it may not be what it was when you dated. Getting married means that you’re still figuring out who you are, and you’re doing that while committed to another person. Get ready to really get to know each other as you go through this process.

“6. You’ll lose some of your single friends.
Yes, some friends you have for life. But some single friends will fade away because your interests are different. They want to go out and meet people, while you just want to hang out. That’s OK. It happens.

“7. There’s only so many times you can have sex.
When you first get married, you won’t be able to keep your hands off of each other. Everyday will be a challenge to find a new position and crazy place to have sex. After a while, you’ll need a break. (And some electrolytes.) You have to make your relationship about more than sex.

“8. Your in-laws will get intimately involved in your life.
When you fight, one of you will likely want to talk to someone, usually a parent. The parent, of course, will have advice for both of you, and will get in your personal business. It’s going to be irritating at times, but it’s not a deal breaker.

“9. You have to fall in love all over again … every day.
A wise counselor taught us that love isn’t a feeling. It’s a decision. There will be days when you think you’re falling out of love, there will be days when you think about calling it quits. Love is a decision to stop listening to your emotions, and choose to stay together through the tough times.

“Love is waking up each day and recommitting to your partner. Love is deciding you’d rather die than violate your partner’s trust with someone else. Love is a daily decision that you might have to make multiple times a day.

“If you wake up everyday and make the decision to love, the decision to put your partners needs first, you will beat the odds. If you’re honest and communicate, you’ll beat the odds.
Those first few years of marriage were rough, but they taught us how to love each other and to appreciate what we have. We made it and I know you can, too.
Feel free to Share.”

The decision is subject to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Manchester City say they are “disappointed but not surprised” by the “prejudicial” decision and will appeal.

The independent Adjudicatory Chamber of the Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) said City had broken the rules by “overstating its sponsorship revenue in its accounts and in the break-even information submitted to Uefa between 2012 and 2016”, adding that the club “failed to cooperate in the investigation”.

It has been reported that City could also face a Premier League points deduction because the league’s FFP rules are similar – although not exactly the same – as Uefa’s.

However, the punishment has no implications for City’s women’s team.

Manchester City said in a statement: “The club has always anticipated the ultimate need to seek out an independent body and process to impartially consider the comprehensive body of irrefutable evidence in support of its position.

“In December 2018, the Uefa chief investigator publicly previewed the outcome and sanction he intended to be delivered to Manchester City, before any investigation had even begun.

“The subsequent flawed and consistently leaked Uefa process he oversaw has meant that there was little doubt in the result that he would deliver. The club has formally complained to the Uefa disciplinary body, a complaint which was validated by a CAS ruling.

“Simply put, this is a case initiated by Uefa, prosecuted by Uefa and judged by Uefa. With this prejudicial process now over, the club will pursue an impartial judgment as quickly as possible and will therefore, in the first instance, commence proceedings with the Court of Arbitration for Sport at the earliest opportunity.”

City have been drawn to face Real Madrid in the last 16 of this season’s Champions League, with the first leg to be played on 26 February at the Bernabeu.

La Liga President Javier Tebas praised Uefa for “finally taking decisive action”.

“Enforcing the rules of financial fair play and punishing financial doping is essential for the future of football,” he said.

“For years we have been calling for severe action against Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, we finally have a good example of action and hope to see more. Better late than never.”

Family Mourns UNIMAID Female Student Burnt To Death By Boko Haram by Folake(f) : 8:02 pm On Feb 16

The family of Fatima Babagana, a 19-year-old student of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) who was part of about 30 people killed last Sunday by Boko Haram fighters, have been left heartbroken.

Although Ms Babagana is only one out of the many who were burnt to death and others reportedly abducted, her case has drawn attention since the incident occurred, with colleagues and teachers at school paying tributes on social media.

Babagana was recently offered admission to study political science after a diploma in mass communication. She told people of her desire to become a journalist.

Her dream came to an end after the militants set fire on stranded travelers caught in a roadblock in the remote village of Auno.

Dozens of travellers were prevented by soldiers from passing through the village marked as one of the gateways into Maiduguri. The soldiers, Babagana’s uncle told newsmen, said they had missed the 4pm curfew.

The uncle, who did not want to be named for fear of being attacked, said they had to pass the night in their vehicles.

At the time the militants arrived in droves shooting everyone in sight, most of them were asleep, he said.

“Fatima was sitting in the backseat and typing on her phone. They saw the light from the phone because it was very dark. Next thing I knew, they had shot her in the head,” her uncle said.

According to him, they kept shooting at people fleeing into the bushes.

Babagana’s uncle said he was able to escape with his friend. They later saw flames and smoke billowing from where they had fled. The attack lasted more than four hours.

Borno State governor’s media aide, Isa Gusau, told CNN that 18 vehicles, including those carrying food and other goods to be taken to a market the next day were burnt.

Her mother, Hafsat, told Daily Trust on Saturday via a telephone interview that Babagana was planning to get married in March.

“I am pained by the state they left my daughter’s remains. It wasn’t enough that they shot her dead, they went ahead and burnt her beyond recognition. They should’ve left her body for us to see and give her a befitting burial,” she said.

Babagana’s remains, which were recovered from the burnt car, have been buried, her uncle said.

Her father is a soldier fighting in Maiduguri under Operation Lafiya Dole. Hafsat said he was injured recently, went through surgery and was on six months leave. He left Kano for Maiduguri on Monday morning when the family got the news.

Hafsat blamed the soldiers for the attack, saying they were ‘reckless’ and ‘careless’.

“Since they knew that they were not going to pass the night there, they should have allowed them and this unfortunate incidence would have been averted. They blocked the road and vanished into thin air,” she said.

On a condolence visit to the state on Wednesday, President Muhammadu Buhari was booed by a crowd of people in Maiduguri.

Buhari came directly from Addis Ababa, where he had been attending an African Union Summit for heads of state. He met with rulers and security agencies in the state asking for their support in the fight against the militants, according to a statement from his media aide, Garba Shehu.
