Love is our true destiny. We do not find the meaning of life by ourselves alone - we find it with another be my VAL.

If you have only one smile in you give it to the people you love or give it to me if you love me, be my Val,

True love comes quietly, without banners or flashing lights. If you hear bells, get your ears checked

We've spent so many Valentine's Days together! Yet every year you always manage to make me feel like the most precious woman in the whole world. Happy Valentine's Day to the most romantic man I know!

When I think of you, an uncontrollable smile crosses my lips because I'm so lucky to have a kind, smart and handsome man.? Happy Valentine's Day.

You've always been my sunshine on a cloudy day, my shoulder to cry on and a helpful hand when I needed you. You deserve this special day as a reminder of the impact you've made on my life.

Time is too slow for those who wait, too swift for those who fear, too long for those who grieve, too short for those who rejoice, but for those who love, time is eternity.

What I need to live has been given to me by the earth. Why I need to live has been given to me by you

A day without you in my life should never come and even if it does, let that be the last day of my life.

Even though Valentine’s day costs a lot more with a girlfriend, you are the one girl in this world who is totally worth it.

Hey! Do you know what I just noticed? Cute has U in the middle! No wonder I found you so sweet and special all along. Happy Valentine’s Day!

My days and nights are spent thinking of you. My dreams have come true now that you are in my life. Happy Valentine’s Day!

In life, love is never planned, nor does it happen for a reason. But when love is real, it becomes your plan for life and reason for living. Happy Valentine’s Day my love.

Even though we don’t get to be with each other as much as we’d like, I wanted you to know… In the morning… In the night…. You are on my mind 24 x 7

No poems, no fancy words. I just want the world to know that I LOVE YOU my Princess with all my heart. Happy Valentine’s Day.

Love is missing someone whenever you’re apart, but somehow feeling warm inside because you’re close in heart. As we are, Happy Valentine’s Day sweetheart.

There are only two times that I want to be with you
NOW & FOREVER

Love can be expressed in many ways.
One way I know is to send it across the distance to the person who is reading this.
♥ ♥ ♥ Happy Valentine’s Day ♥ ♥ ♥

I can fake a smile when I feel sad, I can pretend to be happy when I feel bad. But one thing I can’t do, is pretend that I don’t love you.

You are my heart, my soul, my treasure, my today, my tomorrow, my forever, my everything. Happy Valentine’s Day.

You have seen all the outstanding text messages/sms for this year 2016 valentine day and you are to chose anyone of the messages that sounds good and perfect to you.

Why Pakistan President Banned Valentine Celebration(must see) by Emlr(f) : 12:21 pm On Feb 14

Pakistan's president has denounced St Valentine's Day, saying the festival has no connection with Pakistani culture and should be avoided.
President Mamnoon Hussain told students that it was a Western tradition and conflicted with Muslim culture.
His remarks came after a district in north-western Pakistan banned Valentine's Day celebrations.

Valentine's Day is popular in many cities in Pakistan, but religious groups have denounced it as decadent.

Earlier this week, the local government in Kohat, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, told police officers to stop shops from selling Valentine's Day cards and items.
Kohat district is run by a religious political party and borders Pakistan's conservative tribal areas.
Meanwhile, the Peshawar local council also passed a resolution to ban celebrations of what it called a "useless" day.
Kohat district administrator Maulana Niaz Muhammad told the BBC Urdu: "Valentine's Day has no legal grounds, and secondly it is against our religion, therefore it was banned."

Protesters in Karachi hold banners with slogans such as 'No love, no Valentine'
While giving cards and flowers was not in itself a bad thing, linking this to a specific day was not appropriate, Mr Muhammad said. He added that he felt such practices could encourage obscene behaviour.
However, officials in both places later said the bans had been discarded or ignored for being unpopular.
Earlier this week, there were unconfirmed media reports that Valentine's Day gifts had been banned in the capital Islamabad - although this was subsequently denied by the government.
No love lost over St Valentine's Day

The issue of St Valentine's Day is a polarising one in Pakistan, a country where it has only become widely marked in recent years, writes the BBC World Service's South Asia editor Charles Haviland.
In the run-up to this year's festival, one conservative newspaper described it as a "festival of obscenity", asking if Pakistanis would next start celebrating the Hindu Diwali or the Christian Christmas.
In past years, conservative social groups, who view the day as a festival of immorality detrimental to traditional marriage, have declared the day to be "shameless".
Renowned civil society activist Sabeen Mahmud once set up a demonstration with slogans including "Karachi says Yes to Love". (Last April, she was killed in a drive-by shooting, although not necessarily for that particular issue.)
In neighbouring India, Valentine's Day also garners opposition, usually from Hindu conservatives who say it is alien to Indian culture and - as argued by Pakistani Muslims - contrary to traditions such as arranged marriages.

Wicked and Greedy Politicians: $1m found inside soak-away in Badagry(Photos). by Emlr(f) : 6:04 pm On Feb 14

$1m out of the $3m found inside soak-away in Badagry.
* The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested, Lara, the wife of the immediate past Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Adesola Amosu (rtd), over the arms procurement scandal.
She has been in the custody of the EFCC in Lagos for the past one week. Mrs. Amosu’s arrest followed the alleged discovery of about N3 billion in her bank accounts. She was allegedly holding the money in trust for her husband.
[img][/img]
A source informed that other properties traced to the former CAS were also being held by his wife and children. Amosu was arrested some weeks ago by the EFCC over his involvement in the arms scandal. “Shortly after Amosu was picked up in Abuja, his wife, Lara, was subsequently arrested. Investigations conducted showed that some of the monies the former Chief of Air Staff made through some contracts and procurements in NAF were traced to his wife’s accounts.
We also learnt that the EFCC retrieved $1 million cash in Amosu’s residence in his residence in Badagary, Lagos and that the money, in foreign currency, was retrieved when EFCC operatives carried out a search on Amosu’s residence in Badagry.
According to the source: “In continuation of the investigation into the arms probe, the EFCC operatives took Amosu to his residence in Badagry. After a thorough search of the residence, a fresh small ‘soakaway’ pit was discovered in the compound.
The operatives suspected foul play, which informed the breaking of the ‘soakaway’. Surprisingly, $1 million was found in it. The money was subsequently confiscated.”

ECHO Forum, Please help: He's R*ping Me But My Mother Say I Should Not Talk... by Emlr(f) : 9:10 pm On Feb 21

This is a sad story of a young girl being abused by the son of a rich family that helped she and her mum:

Dear Aunty Temi,
I love your column, it’s really impressive. After my father died four years ago, his friend has been the one supporting my mother and I. Last year, our landlord gave us a quit notice and my late father’s friend offered us accommodation in his home. He and his wife were very kind to us. I was very happy and comfortable with them until their son returned from the U.S. He pressurised me to be his lover and I told him that wasn’t possible. He eventually r*ped me and deflowered me in the process.

I told my mum and she said I shouldn’t ever say anything about it again...
Because my mum didn't say or do anything about it, now he wants to have carnal knowledge of me at the slightest opportunity. I’m scared and don’t know what to do.
- Janet, 19

Below is Aunty Temi's reply to Jane...
To say I was aghast when I read Jane’s message is to say the least. I called her on the phone and inquired if there’s someone she could tell her ordeal if she no longer felt safe living there and she told me there was no one she could open up to except me. I empathised with her and advised her to tell her r*pist’s mother. At first she was very scared and hesitant until he r*ped her a second time and the thought of getting pregnant scared her.

When she informed me about the second r*pe incident, I had to convince her to report the incident to the boy’s mother assuring her that as God lives, she would never regret her action. Surprisingly, she reported the case to the boy’s mother the following day and sent me this text:

Aunty Temi,
I called you severally today but you didn’t pick your phone. I actually wanted to tell you that I told his mum about it. She was so angry with him and threatened to get him imprisoned next time he touches me and that he’ll be returning to the U.S. in the next two weeks. Thank you aunty Temi, I don’t know what I’d have done without you. And thank God the woman has been extra kind to me.
- Jane

Aunty Temi's conclusion...
Jane may have been spared the nightmare of being forced to have s*x but I tell you her mother has laid a very bad foundation for her. Now that Jane has just gained admission into the university and has inadequate funding for her needs, how on earth won’t she be tempted when men offer to take care of her needs while she “services” them in return?

BREAKING:How Dollar Crashed Significantly Against The Naira After Ifeanyi Ubah’s Revelation by Emlr(f) : 8:36 pm On Feb 24

The US dollar yesterday evening dropped to N310 just 2 days after Chief Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, the CEO of Capital Oil revealed he has the ‘magic wand’ to equal the dollar to N200 in a month if consulted by the Federal Government.

Ifeanyi has also revealed that the dollar scarcity is artificial, that he was ready to name people behind the fast dwindling of the nation currency against it foreign counterpart.

Ubah, a renown oil magnate in a sponsored post on facebook yesterday evening claimed the dollar has dropped to N310 from it initial N385 per one dollar before his revelation.

His words; ” Fellow Nigerians, I wish to thank you for the support and encouragement you have given me so far. It has been unprecedented.”

“As at this evening, the Dollar has dropped further to N310 as against N390 on Sunday evening before my interview on Channels.”

“This shows that the earlier increase has been artificial as some people were manipulating and benefitting from it. They will all be fished out in due course so that Nigeria will be better and the suffering of the masses will end.
With God and our sincere efforts, even when we have not been fully consulted, the Dollar can still be brought down to N200 and below.”

Top Secret: How GEJ Minister, Abba Moro Duped Immigration Job-seekers NN676m by Emlr(f) : 8:38 pm On Feb 24

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission says it is set to arraign the immediate past Minister of Interior, Mr. Abba Moro, for allegedly defrauding graduate applicants of N676,675,000 during the 2014 Nigeria Immigration Service recruitment during which about 20 job seekers lost their lives.

The EFCC said in a statement by its Head of Media and Publicity, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, on Tuesday, that a breakdown of the money implied that N1,000 was allegedly extorted from each applicant through e-payment for the online application.

To this end, the EFCC will arraign Moro on 11 counts bordering on obtaining money by false pretences, procurement fraud and money laundering.

Also to be arraigned alongside the ex-minister are Anastasia Nwobia, F.O. Alayebami and Drexel Tech Nigeria Limited.

Contrary to earlier reports, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Works and Housing, Abubakar Magaji, was not arrested by the EFCC. Rather, the permanent secretary picked up by the EFCC on Monday was Nwobia.

The accused persons were alleged to have contravened the Public Procurement Act No. 65 of 2007 in the contract awards by not following the necessary procedure laid down by the government.

According to the EFCC, the award of the contract to Drexel Tech Nigeria Limited had no prior advertisement, no needs assessment and a procurement plan was not carried out before the award of the contract.

The commission added that there was no budgetary provision for the exercise in the 2014 federal budget, hence, the applicants were made to bear the responsibility of funding the project without the approval of the board, contrary to Section 22(5) of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission Act, 2000.

8 Places Where Men Can Get A Wife Material In Nigeria. by Emlr(f) : 11:40 pm On Feb 25

Before i go ahead to list these places,i must state emphatically that women are women. I know plenty of people in great relationships that have met in places like pubs and dance clubs. same goes for super markets and sidewalks. there are skanky bitches every where and there are awesome chicks everywhere so the list does not apply 100%.

Nevertheless,in my opinion,i have meticulously sieved out great places where men can have a real good chance of meeting ladies who will most likely make good house wives and mothers and while some may sound realistic to you, some may sound odd and outright funny but i will try my best to give a concise and brief reason why i chose these places so lets take a ride.

1.The food market: You will likely see ladies who are well groomed in kitchen affairs in the food market especially in the section where great experience is needed in deciphering good food items from bad ones and of-course a lady who understands how to stock the kitchen will have a good idea of how to make good meals and the way to a man's heart stil remains through his stomach.

2.Catering Schools: Trust me,most ladies in catering schools are definitely interested in learning the kitchen tricks and i can't stress it enough that a lady who knows how to cook very well will definitely make her husband happy.

3.The mid-week religious gathering: Yes you will be wondering why i chose the mid-week. The truth is that any lady can go to church on Sundays or to jumait service on Fridays but it takes a lady who is really close to GOD or have the love for GOD to go to religious gathering during the week when she can as well be at home watching telemudo and a lady who loves GOD will surely love her family.

4.Marriage classes : Make no mistake about this,a single lady attending marriage classes is definitely interested in making her future marriage secured and when you find any single and searching lady in this meeting please go for her and you will most likely never regret it.

5.BRT BUS TERMINAL: I know this will come as a surprise to many people but it may interest you that waiting to get into a BRT bus most times requires lots of patience and a lady who can be patient enough to wait in line for a BRT bus to show up will most likely be patient with her hubby through trying times lol!

6.Mama put joint:Yes very very funny but think about it.Many ladies prefer the effizy of going to big time fast food joints just to form butty and would rather prefer to eat pizza in these restaurants whereas the worms in their belly are yearning for good amala with gbegiri and ewedu soup with choice meat or any decent meal.So if you see a lady in mama put restaurant innocently swallowing her amala please pay attention to her because she is likely to be a down to heart zero-effizy and humble lady which are good qualities of a wife material.

7.ECHOnigeria romance, food, family and religion section: This is very realistic because the internet is one place where you can be yourself and on nairaland forum we have various sections you can visit uninhibited so if you see any single lady viewing the family, religion or food section asides front page topics then she is truly religious, family oriented and naturally inclined to food matters so tell me if such a lady will not make a great wife?

8.Her work place: Definitely ladies who have groomed themselves to be financially independent and busy doing one thing or the other rather than jumping from one place to another with different guys are likely suitable as wife materials.

I guess i have tried and you are free to add yours

Video: Child Marriage in Nigeria - Religious Perspective by Emlr(f) : 12:50 am On Feb 26

The issue of child marriage in Nigeria has been reignited by Nigeria's Senate, led by Senator Yerima, bid to re-approve a clause in the Constitution that many fear will allow child marriage in Nigeria.

"We are going inside the UNILAG mosque to ask the Imam and Muslim scholars how they feel about this controversial issue - child marriage," explains Adeola, BattaBox presenter.

A proposed constitutional amendment defined the age at which Nigerians can renounce their citizenship at 18 - but a majority of Senators, led by Yerima, voted down the amendment stating it is against Islamic law.

BattaBox heads to the mosque in UNILAG, Lagos to ask students what they feel about the issue of marriage to young children:

"I have no doubts, no negative things to say to it - if she is ready and I can observe that she is ready - I will give her hand out," says one man.

When asked if Islam permits a female child as young as nine to be married, another man says - "Yes, it permits it."

None of the students disagreed with the proposal that girls around the age of nine years old can marry an older man.

There are many reasons for this - firstly, that the prophet Mohammed himself took a much younger wife. But also, the students argue, that the institution of marriage helps uphold a moral and strong society.

But everyone agrees, the girl must agree and the family must also agree to the marriage - it cannot be done by force.

"When we say maturity - we mean from the biological perspective... once a woman has seen some adult signs like menstrual cycle, the breasts, and things like that - she is matured. Age is not a barrier."

Child marriage is still banned under Nigerian law but according to UNICEF 39% of Nigerian girls marry under the age of 18 in Nigeria.

What do you think - at what age can someone marry?
