Undeniably true, American-born Kenyan singer and songwriter, Victoria Kimani happens to be one of the most attractive females in the Nigerian music industry and she has no problem flaunting it.

In a closed interview with Potpourri, the Chocolate City first lady explains her own perception when being seen as a sex symbol. According to her, being seen as a sex symbol is not bad.

In her words; I don’t think that is a bad thing. I am quite aware of that. Besides, why should I apologize for owning up to what is mine. At times, I can choose to wear Hijab to cover it up. Sometimes, I decide to flaunt it. I don’t even look at what people say because this is me and I try to be myself oftentimes.

It is people who look at me as sex symbol. I think seeing me as a sex symbol should be for some people because I have not worn anything my mind did not accept. The way you see my dressing depends on who you are, if you are somebody who is extremely religious, the idea will be different. Dressing is a thing of choice, what others like might be what others hate.

Victoria who had started her music career in America, always wanted to come back home (Kenya) and make her mark but spotted that Nigeria had a profitable market and a major populace of the youth were very involved in music;

Before I was signed to Los Angelos Laker Ron Artist, I knew I had always wanted to come back home and do music that will be accepted in Africa as a whole. I knew that if I had gone to Kenya it could be cool but everyone knows that when you talk of music and entertainment in general, Nigeria is like Hollywood, compared to other countries in Africa. So I said to myself, I need to find myself here because there are so many talents.

So many people including the media are so interested in music compared to Kenya where less than 65% of Kenyan youths are interested in music but here in Nigeria it is like 70%. So when I was in the US I told myself that I need to go back home and be a pan-African artiste; that artiste who will be able to move around the continent. So that was the reason for my coming in here. I am so grateful to God, almost three years into the business I would say that I am getting closer to my goal but there is still a lot of work to be done.

Real Madrid and Wales star Gareth Bale has reportedly postponed his summer wedding after his fiancee’s family were allegedly embroiled in a gang feud. Bale was due to marry his childhood sweetheart Emma Rhys-Jones in the summer, but the Sun claim their big day has been pushed back.

The paper says her family are being targeted by a drugs gang after a suitcase containing £1million went missing. And the couple are now said to be worried that the gang will target their wedding ceremony.

A source told the newspaper that: ‘Security has been stepped up in Madrid until this blows over. ‘They had planned to marry this summer, but it won’t be happening now. Emma’s very upset but she’s in total agreement that it is the best thing to do.’

Emma’s father was handed a six-year jail sentence in August for his part in a multi-million pound shares scam. He could be released this year on good behaviour grounds as he has already spent four years and three months in custody in the US and Spain.

Abba Kyari, chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, is exploiting the President's ill-health, sources have told SR. He is said to have prevented the suspension of Mr. Jalal Arabi, Permanent Secretary of the State House from taking effect, as ordered by President Buhari.

Sources say Mr. Arabi has been suspended by the President, but the suspension was stopped from taking effect by Kyari, to whom the Permanent Secretary is very close.

The President was said to have suspended Mr. Arabi over a series of indiscretions, which included refusal to pay State House staff for up to six months. He was said to have since paid much of the arrears, leaving 2 months outstanding. Mr. Arabi is said to owe his position to the Chief of Staff.

Sources told SR that Mr. Arabi failed the examination into the Permanent Secretary cadre, but Kyari facilitated his appointment without an interview.

His failure to pay State House workforce on time was said to have sparked widespread misgivings among the staff, many of whom have their finances seriously stretched.

A Notorious militant leader, Ossy Ibori known for criminal activities in Niger Delta has met waterloo in Ondo state on Sunday, the 30th of April 2017. Eric Effiong, 32, has been arrested for allegedly absconding with a school bus belonging to Peak Lane International School. Effiong, a father of two, before he absconded with the school bus worth over N3.6 million, had worked with them for six years.

He stole the bus on March 7 and was finally arrested by operatives, who tracked him down in Calabar, Cross State, where he had already changed its number plate, re-branded it with Cross Lines Transportation Company colours and was operating Calabar-Uyo routes.

Speaking to Vanguard, Effiong said: “I really feel bad that this thing happened to me. I just pray my boss would forgive me. While on official duty earlier this year, I hit a child of about one year and broke his leg. I spent over N200,000 to treat the baby.

When I ran out of cash I began to sell my items to raise money. In the cause of that, my rent expired and my salary was N54,000. Because the school doesn’t give loan, I became frustrated. I did not know what to do and decided to abscond with the bus.”

Gregory Anyansodo, 47 and a member of The Lord Chosen, was on last Thursday arrested in Lagos for impersonating the Nigerian Police and extorting traders in Oshodi. The suspect had surreptitiously and under the guise of arresting a trader, stole N125,000 from the trader, Mrs Emmanuella Joseph.
The victim reported Anyansodo thinking they were colleagues. Typical of the RRS operatives, they never dismissed the lady’s claim. They followed her in search of Anyansodo until he was arrested few hours later.

Found on Ayansodo were a walkie – talkie and a fake police identity card portraying him as an agent of Lagos State Taskforce AGENCY; Criminal Investigation Department, SARS and Police Command Panti Unit 9 (only God knows where those exist in Lagos).

Gregory Anyansodo confessed but maintained he didn’t steal N125,000. He stated that he only threatened to arrest her in order to extort her.

He added that he has been making between N10,000 to N15,000 daily impersonating police in Oshodi and that he has been lodging in hotels in Lagos since December, 2016 when he came to Lagos.

The suspect added that he has been arrested six times in Owerri by Police for impersonating WAEC and JAMB officials deceptively collecting N25,000 from applicants.

Confessing about how he spent what he made, the suspect said, he has never sent a dime to his wife and his six children based in Owerri, adding that, his wife has been the one catering for the children.

To cap it all, he “call the wife occasionally”.

Anyansodo came to Lagos to attend The Lord Chosen convention in Ijesha in February before deciding to stay in Lagos for employment opportunity.
