The 75-year-old royal donned
her rarely seen Diamond Thistle Brooch to attend the moving church service
alongside her husband, the new King Charles III. The brooch was originally
one of the Queen Mother's go-to pieces and she would often pin it to her
hat for formal visits. The jewel was later passed on to the Queen when her
mother passed away in 2002, who then presented it to Camilla.
It's not known when the brooch
was loaned to Camilla, but the Duchess didn't debut it publicly until 2015. It
is still a fairly rare piece, and we haven't seen the royal wear it very often.
She memorably sported it
during a Burns Night address back in January 2021.
The Queen Consort was aptly
dressed for Monday's service, sporting a coat dress, feather embellished hat,
leather clutch and a mid-heeled court shoe.

She had donned the very
same coat dress for the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral. Her go-to
three-string pearls, a gift from her husband King Charles, adorned her neck.
The King led members of the
royal family on foot behind the Queen's coffin, including Prince Edward, Prince
Andrew and Princess Anne. Meanwhile, the Queen Consort and other
members of the monarchy followed behind in cars.
Camilla looked elegant in a feathered hat and black jacket
After the procession, Charles
will hold audiences with First Minister Nicola Sturgeon and Alison Johnstone,
the Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament.

Words of sympathy will be
expressed by the Scottish Parliament when Charles and Camilla attend to receive
a motion of condolence, with the King replying.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the panel of judges for the Nigeria Prize for Science received 107 entries from scientists worldwide for the 2022 edition.
A panel of judges led by Prof. Christian Agbo, from the Department of Agriculture, University of Nigeria Nsukka reached the decision on the winning entries.
Other members on the panel were Ms Funke Opeke, the Chief Executive Officer of MainOne and Prof. Mohammed Magaji, from the Department of Agronomy, Usman Danfodiyo University, Sokoto.
Nnaji said that one of the outstanding works was on:â€Gains in Grain Yield of Released Maize (Zea Mays L.) Cultivars under Drought and Well-Watered Conditions†by Muhydideen Oyekunle and Shehu Ado.
He said that the second one was on: “Development of Process Plant for Plantain Flour†by Sesan Ayodeji and Emmanuel Olatomilola.
According to him, the two groups will split the 100,000 dollars grand prize.
On the judges’ report, the chairman said that the works addressed food security which was a key component of the national agenda.
He said that the works were in line with goal two of the Sustainable Development Goals which sought sustainable solutions to end hunger in all its forms by 2030 and to achieve food security.
Nnaji further said that the choice of the judges reflected a multi-disciplinary approach relevant to the theme in focus.
He said the advisory board was particularly pleased that in evaluating the entries, the judges upheld the objectives of the prize which sought to identify and promote excellence in utilising scientific knowledge.
“Muhyideen Oyekunle, a Maize Breeder and Prof. Shehu Ado, an Agricultural Expert’s work on: “Gains in Grain Yield of Released Maize (Zea Mays L.) Cultivars under Drought and Well Watered Conditions†provides us with a unique opportunity.
Â
“The maize seeds they selected courtesy of a breeding programme has been tested to be high yielding and water stress tolerant.
Â
†Prof. Sesan Ayodeji, from Federal University of Technology, Akure and his colleague, Mr Emmanuel Olatomilola’s work on “Development of Process Plant for Plantain Flour†is important for reducing spoilage of farm products and package for distribution as well as value addition for farm products,“ he said.
The advisory chairman commended the NLNG board and management for instituting, sponsoring and sustaining what was arguably the biggest science prize in Africa.
In his remarks, Mr Andy Odeh, NLNG’s General Manager, External Relations and Sustainable Development said that the science prize was growing in strength as the 2022 verdict depicted.
Odeh said that the advisory board and NLNG were working behind the scenes to review the prize for bigger impact and inclusiveness for the good of society.
He said that science could provide solutions to most of the country’s challenges and urged relevant stakeholders and the public to continue to support NLNG through the Nigeria Prize for Science.
He noted that stakeholders could do this by making scientific breakthroughs the biggest enabler of development in Nigeria, adding that industry and public investors should consider the commercial value of the winning works.
The general manager commended the winners for the big feat and called on all past winners of the prize to synergise and become a think-tank that could generate and sustain the flow of ideas, innovation and scientific advice to the public and private sectors.
He further said that this would make scientific ideas and innovations beneficial to the people, thereby helping to build a better Nigeria in line with the vision of the organisation.
Odeh added that the winning works had the potential to significantly impact the country’s food security positively through stable, efficient and sufficient system of food production.

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has said it would ground activities at the local and international airports across the country beginning from Monday, September 18 over the lingering strike action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
It said its decision to ground airports activities was due to the successes recorded in its road protest during which several highways were blocked.
The leadership of NANS, which spoke in Akure, the Ondo State capital, said the grounding of airports was to make the rich share in the pains of the students occassioned by the prolonged strike action.
Chairman, NANS National Task Force on ‘End ASUU Strike Now,’ Comrade Ojo Raymond Olumide, said students were tired of pleading with both parties to end the strike.
Olumide cautioned ASUU not to call off the strike after any increment in their salary but to insist on other demands that led to the strike action.
According to him: “We shall begin another round of protest next week by storming the airspaces on Monday, 19th September 2022 to #OccupyTheAirports. We want to let the world know about the pains and anguish students are going through.
“Nigerian students whose parents create the commonwealth cannot continue to be suffering at home alongside our lecturers while the few who gain from our sweats and blood have their kids abroad.
“We call on students to rise and join us as we take our destinies into our hands. Our demands remain consistently clear and simple. We call on ASUU leadership for a meeting as soon as possible to discuss solidarity actions and plan for the next phase of the struggles.â€
He explained the students’ body need not inform the police about the planned protest to ground airports because they were not subjected to security agencies
“Grounding the airport is for us to get solidarity and we will keep on grounding the local and international airports and they know the effect of us grounding the airport.
“The only thing we request for them is to open our campuses back. We Call on the Buhari government to pay all outstanding arrears and salaries of the lecturers. The policy of “No Work No Pay†is a fascist one. It is, therefore condemnable and nonacceptable to all the millions of students in Nigeria.
“We will, by this statement, not beg again. We shall be mobilizing all students to shut down the country. No Education! No Movement,†he said.
