Billionaire Kidnapper Evans Father Opens Up; says wife misled him by AngelPrisi(f) : 2:31 am On Jun 14

Following the arrest of his son Chukwudi “Evans” Dumeme Onwuamadike (a man who has made dirty money through evil and living large), the father of the arrested billionaire kidnapper, Mr. Stephen Onwuamadike, who revealed how poor he was to newsmen because of a bad wife he married (Evans mother) disclosed what transpired between him and his son the last time he saw him.

According to him, the last time he saw his son was in 2008 and he warned him to desist from illegal means of acquiring wealth. He further stated that it was Evans’ mother who misled him and this has been on since he was a little boy.

In a chat with New Telegraph, Evan’s dad said he used to be very wealthy but Evans’ mother led to his downfall and she left him with nothing. His current wife and their son also accused Evans’ mother of being the person behind Evans’ predicament. They painted Evans as a good and loving son who landed in the mess of get rich quick through the negative influence of his mother.

His father said: “I was devastated when I heard the news through a telephone call; since that call, I had not been able to sleep. I believe in a straight forward and honest life. If I noticed someone is not honest, I run away from the person.

When my business was thriving, I did business with white people. I was one of the early millionaires that emerged from this town until things went wrong courtesy of my first wife (Evans mother) in 1985.

She caused me so many problems and eventually caused my financial ruins. In fact, she brought me down to where I am today. I’m suffering and I can barely put food on my table.”

Stephen who lives in his home at Akammili, Umudim, Nnewi, Anambra State, said that he tried his best to raise Evans by sending him to the best schools around.

“My estranged wife kept interfering in his academics. You won’t believe that my son, Chukwudumeje (Evans) has not visited home since 2008. The last time I saw him was 10 years ago. I asked him the sort of business he was into.

He said he was into drug trafficking. I advised him to desist because it was an illicit business and the law was against it. I told him plainly that it was better to be involved in a legitimate business and wait for God’s blessings. I did good business and it thrived; I was very successful. I have travelled to so many countries of the world in the course of my business,” Stephen said.

He added: “His mother started manipulating him when he was only three years old; look at where it has got him. I don’t even have his phone number. I’m pleading with the Nigerian authorities to have mercy on him and give him a second chance.

He was misdirected and misled by his mother. I heard about all the millions, and I said to myself, do I have such manner of rich son and the roof over my house is leaking. I now survive by selling pigs.”

Police sources have confirmed that Evans also confessed that his mother his aware of all the bad things he was doing for money.

May the good Lord have mercy on them.

Yes, A City Is Coming And We Can’t Wait! by AngelPrisi(f) : 8:40 pm On Jun 16

It’s official; there is a new city coming to Nigeria and I am excited. Excited not because of the buzz that has surrounded its impending unveiling, but because of what it represents for me – a breath of fresh air.

If you still don’t know what I am talking about then I will assist you in playing catch up. Hardly can you go anywhere in the past few days without a billboard or another telling you ‘A city is coming’. And if you manage to miss that it’s almost impossible for you to miss the buzz online and on social media with everyone wondering what the city is about.

No, I am not writing to tell you what the city is about. You know why? I don’t know it. But I will tell the promoters of the city what I expect from any new city.

SECURITY: The city must not only welcome everyone that can afford to reside there, it must also be planned well enough to take care of the lives and property of those living there.

Everyone who gains access to the city, regardless of where it is located, must be assured of their safety and that of their friends and family.

FREEDOM: Everyone in this new city must be assured of a freedom to associate, network, and socialize with friends and family. There must be no restriction on the basis of class, gender, ethnicity, or any other factor for that matter.

The residents and visitors will be there to savour new experiences and they should be allowed to do that free of restrictions.

LEISURE & ENTERTAINMENT: Living in Nigeria takes a lot out of you. The hustle and bustle of daily living can be exhausting. So any time we get to unwind, relax, and let our hair down is precious to us.

That’s why we fill up movie theatres, watch soccer games every weekend, and hit drinking bars almost every night. In essence, the city we are all expecting must have the facilities and aesthetics in place for people to unwind, enjoy the good life, and create good memories.

So while I wait in anticipation for the unveiling of the city, I expect that is not only a place with beautiful structures and aesthetics, but one which we can all call home.

I Will Defeat President Buhari and Become the Next President of Nigeria – Gov Fayose Boasts by AngelPrisi(f) : 12:15 pm On Jun 17

A popular Governor from the western part of the country has sounded a note of warning to President Muhammadu Buhari that he will be defeated in 2019.

Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, on Friday in Ado Ekiti, said he would become the next president of Nigeria, according to a report by The Punch.

Fayose said that he had the attributes to wrestle power from the President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress in 2019.

The Governor who is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party further boasted that former governors Segun Oni and Kayode Fayemi would fail if they contest the 2018 governorship election in the state.

He revealed these at a meeting with political office holders at the Government’s House, Ado Ekiti, where he also inspected Osoko Political Institute Centre.

He said, “Just because Ayo Fayose has won a second term to become governor of Ekiti, some people also think they can come back now, but I want to tell them that it is not possible. I am the man wholeheartedly loved by Ekiti people because of the many developmental projects that have brought great infrastructural and developmental advancement to Ekiti.

“If you go around Ekiti, you will see my handiwork dotting every nook and cranny of the state. This is why I am the man who every Ekiti people will follow in 2018.”

Fayose said he had the penchant for taking powers from people having defeated two former governors (Niyi Adebayo and Fayemi) in governorship elections.

“I have penchant for taking powers; that one in Buhari’s hand. I will take it. I’m going straight to that villa. I’m the next president.

“I want to be the next president of Nigeria. My own won’t be this change that has brought nothing, we are going to represent the people well and tell them the truth.”

Read Michelle Obama’s Adorable Father’s Day Message To Barack Obama by AngelPrisi(f) : 8:00 pm On Jun 19

The former First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, joined others all over the world to wish her husband a happy Father’s day.

She shared a throw back photo of Barack Obama cradling their daughters and wrote;
“Happy #FathersDay @BarackObama. Our daughters may be older and taller now, but they’ll always be your little girls. We love you.”
To which he replied;
“Of all that I’ve done in my life, I’m most proud to be Sasha and Malia’s dad. To all those lucky enough to be a dad, Happy Father’s Day!”

Michelle met Barack Obama when they were among the few African Americans at their law firm, Sidley Austin LLP (she has sometimes said only two, although others have pointed out there were others in different departments), and she was assigned to mentor him while he was a summer associate. Their relationship started with a business lunch and then a community organization meeting where he first impressed her.

Before meeting Obama, Michelle had told her mother she would focus solely on her career. The couple’s first date was to the Spike Lee movie Do the Right Thing Barack Obama has opined that the two had an “opposites attract” scenario in their interest for each other initially since Michelle had stability through her two-parent home while he was “adventurous”.

See Photo Of APC Chieftain Who Was Kidnapped Last Week In Ondo Found Dead by AngelPrisi(f) : 1:46 am On Jun 20

Olumide Odimayo, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state who was kidnapped last week Thursday has been found dead, local vigilantes has told SaharaReporters.

The corpse of Mr. Odimayo was found near Ogolo River, between Sabomi and Igbotu in Ese Odo Local Government Area of the state.

Unknown gunmen had last week Thursday abducted Mr. Odimayo popularly called “Londoner” at his home in Igbotu community.

SaharaReporters had reported how the armed hoodlums entered the community through the bush, shot into the air and whisked away the APC chieftain.

A source who confirmed the sad news to SaharaReporters on Monday disclosed that the corpse of the deceased was found by members of the local vigilante group that constituted a search party.

The source stated that the people of the local community were thrown into shock immediately the news of the tragedy filtered into Igbotu from the vigilante group.

According to the source, members of the local vigilante group have also arrested two persons suspected to be in connection with the kidnap of the late All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain.

“A few moments ago the death of the victim (Odimayo) was announced to us by a member of the local vigilantes who was also part of the rescue team.

“The vigilante said his corpse was found in Ogolo River which is very close to Sabomi and Igbotu in Ese Odo area.

“It is unfortunate that we, the youths could not rescue Odimayo alive despite our efforts to locate the kidnappers’ den. Currently, we are mourning his painful death” the source added.

Also, a youth from the community who was angered by the tragic incident blamed security agencies particularly the marine police for the failed rescue of the victim.

“If the security agencies mostly the marine police in the area had put more energy in the search of the kidnapped victim and work with local vigilante group, maybe he would have been rescued alive.

“The victim (Odimayo) arrived from London not too long ago before he was kidnapped. He is not too familiar with the terrain of the water, he might have died as a result of the stress during his abduction”.

Femi Joseph, the Police Public Relations Officer in Ondo State Command could not immediately be reached for his reaction.

Reacting, the All Progressives Congress (APC) spokesman in the Ondo state, Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya, expressed shock at the tragic death of Odimayo.

“The tragic death of Mr. Olumide Odimayo is a rude shock to us in the party because this is someone who came from London and started the struggle with us.

“I can’t get myself as I am speaking with you. Although, our party members have been sending their condolences to his family but his death is very painful to us all” he said.

3 Ways A Good Father Can Leave A Positive Legacy by AngelPrisi(f) : 2:29 am On Jun 20

Being a father is tough because we learn how to parent while on the job.

Love Your Wife.
Affirm You Children.
Enjoy Life Together.

Ken Druck and James Simmons in The Secrets Men Keep discuss six major secrets men have. At the top of the list is that “men secretly yearn for their fathers love and approval.” This is often without their conscious knowledge that this yearning manifests itself in the drive that many males have to prove themselves. The authors say:

It may surprise us to know that the most powerful common denominator influencing men’s lives today is the relationship we had with our fathers …. Of the hundreds of men I have surveyed over the years, perhaps 90 percent admitted they still had strings leading back to their fathers. In other words, they are still looking to their fathers, even though their fathers may have been dead for years, for approval, acceptance, affection, and understanding.

These article is not about being a perfect dad. If it were, I would be completely unqualified to write it. I am simply seeking some ways to have a better chance to leave a positive legacy as an earthly father.

The first way to leave a good legacy is found in Paul’s letter to the church at Ephesus.

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.(NIV, Ephesians 5:25)

The translation in The Message says this.

Husbands, go all out in your love for your wives, exactly as Christ did for the church–a love marked by giving, not getting.

The number one way to leave a great legacy for your children is very simple:

Love your wife.

Theodore M. Hesburgh wrote that the “most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother”.

Your children watch how you treat their mother. They watch … and they are learning and forming their concept of marriage from you. You are creating a pattern, a blueprint for marriage with your children.

The second part of leaving a legacy that endures is to be an encouragement to your children. Paul wrote this simple instruction to the church at Colossae.

Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged. (Colossians 3:21)

The Message translates this verse like this….

Parents, don’t come down too hard on your children or you’ll crush their spirits.

I cannot remember hearing a lot of teaching on that verse over the years. It is really easy in this success mad culture to discourage your children. Nearly every dad wants his child to be successful. What is wrong with that desire? There is nothing wrong with that goal if we balance it with love, encouragement, and awareness of your child’s unique design. Sometimes we forget the journey we have traveled in our own lives. Frank Clark said that “a father is a man who expects his son to be as good a man as he meant to be.” Ouch.

I am not talking about being a perfect father. These kids (and many of us) are simply looking for the affirmation and blessing of our earthly fathers.

When Scripture says that God is our Father, it is telling us that these needs can be met by Him. This is where our role as Christian dads becomes so important. There are no perfect earthly dads. But it is critical that we understand the impact that we have on our child’s relationship with God. Some may find it hard to get excited about the scriptural descriptions of God as a father because of the imperfect models of fatherhood they have experienced here on earth.

Some remember a father who was too wrapped up in his job, his buddies, and his hobbies to provide much support or affirmation. He might have been one of those men who believed that their only job was to bring home a paycheck, while Mom was responsible for everything else. Others might recall a dad that was demanding, cold, and unapproachable. Children can tend to transpose their father experience when they think of God as Father.

I have talked to many adult men who are still desperate for the approval of their fathers. And I know that is true for women as well. Jim Valvano, the now deceased coach, said “My father gave me the greatest gift that anyone could give another person, he believed in me.”

The third way to leave a positive legacy as a dad is to simply be present and enjoy every mile of the journey as you model being a man to your children.

In his book, Being a Good Dad When You Didn’t Have One, Tim Wesemann gives his readers a two-word piece of advice: “Lighten up!” He says that adults laugh an average of 15 times a day while children laugh 400 times. “Sometime between childhood and adulthood, we lose 385 laughs a day! That’s a great loss!” Wesemann says. “Maybe we need not only the faith of a child but the funny bone of one as well.”

I agree. One of my favorite moments happened on a family trip. Brett is several years younger than his siblings. I was addressing his older brothers’ behavior when I snapped at the boys and said in my best dad voice, “You are acting like children.” Brett was only five, and he thought I was including him in the accusation. He pondered the comment and then said, “But I am a children.” The laughter from the backseat derailed my dad authority and it definitely lightened the moment. The family that can laugh together has a huge advantage in the journey.

The Psalmist wrote these words: “Behold, children are a gift of the Lord; the fruit of the womb is a reward.” Sometimes it is hard to remember what a blessing those little ones are when they are throwing down a tantrum at Target. I encourage parents to enjoy every phase of their children’s journey. And I learned that what your children take away as favorite memories may be surprising. One of the questions I asked my sons was their favorite memories of time with me. I expected that they would remember the big trips we took together or some expensive outing. I was humbled by their responses.

Firstborn son Matt: “My favorite memories are throwing the baseball/football in the front yard of our Pecan Valley house, going to baseball games and growing up around sports.”

Second born son Scott: “Playing catch in the backyard for hours on end, even when your knees hurt. Going to cut down Christmas Trees every November and stopping at the Dairy Queen on the way home.”

Youngest son Brett: “You coaching my sports teams and going to cut down the Christmas tree.”

It was the little things that counted for them. The memories that really mattered to them were things that cost me only time. Each one of the boys felt valued when they felt I had sacrificed or made a special effort to spend time with them. I thought the big things mattered the most but I was wrong.

Model what you are teaching. Here is a powerful quote from Clarence Budington Kelland: “My father didn’t tell me how to live; he lived, and he let me watch him do it.” Wow. I have seen that prove out in my own life. I can tell you exactly what my father modeled for me, but I would have a hard time remembering any of his lectures. I believe that is an overlooked component of the wisdom expressed in Proverbs: “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” That training should include being a role model and then the verbal training will sink in. Being an authentic role model makes the message effective.

You are a role model for your children, like it or not. Your children will, to one degree or another, model their lives after you. You most likely have inherited some of your father’s characteristics and your children are inheriting some of yours. These are three principles that will give you a much better chance to leave a positive legacy as a dad.

“I Learnt To Shoot When I Joined Eiye” – Robber Arrested Opens Up by AngelPrisi(f) : 5:16 am On Jun 20

The Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command has apprehended a suspected robber, Nurudeen Kazeem, who allegedly shot a policeman at LASU-Igando area of the state last week, with him confessing that he honed his shooting skill as a cultist.

Nurudeen (27) a.k.a Onyabo, who was a trained tailor, before becoming a commercial motorcyle rider, was arrested by the Rapid Response Squad Decoy Team in connection with the shooting of an RRS officer investigating chains of robbery cases in LASU– Iba/Igando area.

The suspect had shot the policeman in the leg while trying to dispossess a delivery man of some expensive phones.

Tribune Online learnt that one of the gang members had ordered for the phones online for delivery at a specific address around LASU-Iba Road.

Nurudeen confessed that he shot the officer twice in the leg to avoid arrest.

He added that he was trained to kill by cult members after his initiation into Eiye confraternity.

“I have killed two people in the past. One was to complement my initiation into Eiye confraternity.

“I was led to a beer parlour in LASU-Iyana-Iba axis, where I was showed a man to kill. I shot the guy there and I escaped. I killed another guy after shooting at him. I also macheted the victim who was a member of Aye confraternity in LASU/Iyana Iba area,” he explained.

On how he joined the cult group, the suspect said;

“I and a friend of mine were forcefully initiated into Eiye confraternity. We were asked by some guys to use our motorcycles to take them to a naming ceremony.

“Those guys changed the route after bringing out guns to scare us and led us into a bush where other innocent guys were to be initiated into the confraternity.

“In the bush, they beat us mercilessly. That was how we were initiated. Since then, they armed me with gun and cartridges to kill people, particularly rival cult members. It was while doing this that I was invited into robbery by Cali (Wilfred Ehis),”

“Cali invited me to assist him in collecting phones from delivery men. He ordered the phone online, gave them the delivery address and we ambushed the delivery men and collected the phones at gun point,”

Wilfred Ehis, 30, who had earlier been arrested in April, was, thereafter, re-arrested by the operatives after the arrest of Nurudeen.

According to investigations, Ehis had been the brains behind several robberies in LASU-Iyana-Iba and Igando areas of the state.

Sources revealed that Ehis and his gang members lodged in different hotels around the area.

Ehis, from whom a shotgun was also recovered sometime in April, 2017 in company of three other accomplices, had confessed to the police that he hired Nurudeen to help him rob delivery men of online shopped phones.

According to Nurudeen;

“I have done this three times for Cali. I took the phones to him in the hotels where he stayed. He gave me N60,000 for the first operation. The second, he gave me N50,000 and the third, N45,000.

The fourth was the one I shot the police officer, but I didn’t know he was a police officer,”

Arrested along with Nurudeen were: Yusuph Bello (33), the gang’s armourer from whom two guns and machetes were recovered, and Sunday Hassan (26), the gang’s bike rider.

All the suspects had been transferred to the SARS office in Ikeja for further investigation.

FG Denies Removing Crk From Secondary School Curriculum. by AngelPrisi(f) : 4:31 pm On Jun 21

The Federal Ministry of Education has denied reports that Christian Religious Knowledge, CRK, has been removed as a subject of study from the curriculum of public secondary schools in Nigeria while Islamic Religious Studies, IRS, has been reintroduced.

Director of Press, Federal Ministry of Education, Mrs. Chinenye Ihuoma, who denied the report, said the Ministry had only designed a new subject which merged Civic Education, IRS, CRK and Social Studies into “Religion and National Values.”

“The alternation is not from the minister, this is purely from the National Council on Education. It is just as the council has said that History should be a subject of its own at the basic level in the first nine years. Now, a new subject has been introduced, called Religion and National Values.

It is a fusion of religion and civics. I have not seen the details but in a case where you have subject combinations in the same period, everyone will attend lectures that correspond with their own religion. Arabic and Islamic Studies are not standing alone.

Islamic Religious Study and Christian Religious Study as well as national values will be taught under a new subject.”she said
