Manchester United midfielder, Marouane Fellaini, has said he would break his leg for manager Jose Mourinho, if he has to.

Fellaini has emerged as a key figure at Old Trafford this season under Mourinho and is grateful for the confidence the Portuguese has shown in him.

The 29-year-old, who made 47 appearances in all competitions this season, told hln.be: “When I feel that people trust me, I’m prepared to do everything.

“If I have to break my foot for him [Mourinho], I’ll do it. That’s me. Even when I’m in pain, I play.”

Fellaini will form part of Mourinho’s plans once again in 2017/2018, having seen a 12-month extension option in his contract triggered.

“Now I am here at Manchester United, I’m in and want to stay here,” Fellaini added.

“I work every day with great players, with great staff, at a great club and I’m happy to be here and try to give everything for this club.”

The management of the University of Ibadan (UI) on Monday ordered students of the institution to vacate the campus latest by 6pm following the outbreak of protests in the school.

UI’s Director of Communications and Publication, Olatunji Oladejo told newsmen that the closure became necessary so as to avert a crisis.

Students of the premier university had earlier staged a protest on the streets of Ibadan lamenting what they tagged the insensitive disposition of the university management to their security and welfare.

A student congress held on Saturday had passed a resolution that steps be taken to disrupt the forthcoming examinations if students were not provided with identity cards and allowed to use cooking appliances within the halls of residence.

Oladejo in a statement issued Monday afternoon however denied the allegation and stated that the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof Idowu Olayinka had convened an emergency meeting of the university Senate to review the circumstances surrounding the development.

“The University of Ibadan in its wisdom has decided to shift the examination earlier scheduled for June to July, 2017, ” Oladejo said.

It is not the first time that management of the University of Ibadan has closed down the school following student protests.

Vanguard reports that undergraduate students are to resume on July 17 while postgraduate students would be allowed to stay on campus for their research activities.

As women, we grow up dreaming about whom we’ll someday marry. We watch countless romantic movies and read fairy tales about Prince Charming. We have Pinterest boards for planning the big wedding day. We make lists of traits we’d love to see in a future husband, longing for Mr. Right. Often our expectations loom big. And in our quest for the happily ever after, we may start to feel like we have to settle.

Often when our interests are sparked and feelings are flowing, we can get swept away and even lose sight of what is true. Yet, love doesn’t have to be blind. There’s no reason to settle for relationships that are unhealthy or even harmful.

God cares about you. He cares about the one you marry. And you can trust He will give guidance or even some red flags to be aware of along the way.

10 Characteristics that Should Raise a Red Flag:

1. The Unbeliever – Marriage can be hard enough at times, add to that the pressure of deeper spiritual disconnect, and you may be in big trouble when the normal stressors of life occur. Missionary dating and marriage will be a road of extra struggle. If you hold vastly different spiritual beliefs now, don’t falsely assume you’ll get him to “turn around,” or change his ways later. It may happen, but it may not. Be careful not to settle for less than what God would want for the spiritual health and care of your marriage.

2. The Abuser – You are worth far too much to be abused by anyone. Ever. Move quickly away from anyone who brings you physical, verbal, or deep emotional harm. It’s not worth it to attach yourself to one who desperately needs help and freedom himself. You are not his saving grace. That is God’s work. Marriage is built on deep love and respect and this is most certainly no way to begin. See the warning signs for what they are. Believe you are valuable and precious to God. Say “no more” and move on.

3. The Addict – This man needs freedom that can only come by admitting there’s a problem and seeking counseling, professional help, and the strength that God can bring. Addiction to alcohol, drugs, or pornography will lead to destruction. And though your relationship may seem to challenge him in the right direction, don’t be fooled that he’ll so quickly “give it all up for you,” without the aid and accountability of professional help. You are not the one to set him free and your role is not to try to change him. Only God can.

4. The Narcissist – If your boyfriend cares more about what he looks like in the mirror on any given day, than what you do, or can’t seem to get enough of his “greatness,” you may have trouble ahead. No matter how handsome, talented, and charming one may seem, marriage is built on the word “together.” If the relationship before marriage seems a bit one-sided, emphasis on “his side,” it may be destined for struggle. Your life should be greatly cherished by the man who calls you his wife. Humility, compassion, love, and respect towards others are much more admirable characteristics than simply the externals.

5. The Controller – What seems to be disguised early on as “I’m only trying to help,” can really be a deep need for control and a heart of jealousy. This man will dominate and strive to make every decision for you, decide who you should spend time or who you should no longer see. The one driven by control needs will have continual issues with whether he can “trust you.” Often, under the grasp of the controller, you may start to feel like you can hardly breath. It’s suffocating. It’s supposed to be, that’s how he holds you in his grasp. Be free. This is not your problem to fix. It’s God’s.

6. The Angry, Hot-tempered Man – A man who cannot control his temper before you’re married, will most certainly be a man who cannot control his temper after you’re married. In most cases, it will worsen. No matter what our personality type, it still doesn’t give us room to plow over anyone in our pathway with harsh words and rants. Take time in different scenarios to see how he responds, especially under pressure. How does he act on the ball field? In traffic? When the waiter gets the order messed up? When the pressures mount at work? When you’re running late? The key is – does he realize it’s an area of weakness that he desires for God to help him change? If the answer is “no,” steer clear.

7. The Man Still Tied to Mama – We all love a man who loves his Mom. There is deep respect for those who care for and show love to their parents. Yet sometimes the lines get blurred. When the guy you’re dating still has every bill paid by his parents, they control every decision he makes, and he cares more about what Mama thinks than what you think - newsflash – struggle is ahead. One of the number one causes of divorce is relationship difficulty with in-laws. No family is perfect, but be sure you’re both on the same page when it comes to leaving, cleaving, and uniting as one. If there is trouble with drawing healthy boundaries before you’re married, there most definitely will be trouble later.

8. The Flirt, Cheat, Tempter – Behaviors established before marriage are not going to magically go away once you say “I do.” Sexual sin can be a deep trap of the enemy and once ensnared in these destructive patterns, they are difficult to break. The mistakes of the past should hold no control over our present and future. Watch for behaviors that signal trouble. Is he respectful to women? Does he flirt with your best friend or the waitress at dinner? Is he begging you to sleep with him? Red flag. Be careful that you have wisdom to see the true heart before you enter covenant relationship with one entrenched in sexual sin. You are worthy of respect, the one who loves you, will wait for you.

9. The Liar - Every marriage must be built on trust. Without this as a firm foundation, you’re in for trouble from the beginning. So what about those “little white lies” you started noticing along the way? In reality, there’s no such thing as little white lies. Any lie is meant to hide, deceive, or manipulate truth. There is no room for dishonesty in a healthy, loving relationship. It’s a dangerous trap and you will always be left wondering what he’s hiding.

10. The One with Destructive Money or Work Habits – If you’re supporting your boyfriend and paying for everything now - this may not change much later. Is he a hard worker? Does he have a job? Is he a workaholic? Does he have secretive spending habits? Addiction to gambling? Insurmountable debt? Once married, these patterns can worsen when the stressors of family life and responsibilities mount high. Money problems and financial struggles are one of the main causes of divorce. Have the discussions before you’re married. Decide upfront if the two of you can agree on the big issues.

One truth – Nothing is impossible with God. Absolutely nothing. If you find these traits in one you love, or even in yourself, the hope is that He doesn’t leave us on our own to try to figure it all out. He brings help and healing for any situation.

A 30-year-old woman missing for nearly two weeks has been found dead in her Eskom office at the Springs power station, South Africa on Monday, May 29th.

Lucia Thembisile Yende was last seen on May 17. Her white single cab Toyota Hilux was also found in the parking lot. Her body was found in the office which remained locked since the day she went missing, despite police dogs sniffing the premises.

“On the day she was reported missing, police came and searched the offices. They even had police dogs there but could not pick up any smell” Eskom national spokesperson Khulu Phasiwe told News24.

“We know that the woman was found in her office‚ but I don’t know what was the cause of death‚” police spokesperson Kay Makhubele told TimesLIVE on Tuesday morning.

Eskom officials were quoted as saying that “something untoward” had happened on the day that Yende had gone missing‚ referring to the fact that CCTV cameras had stopped recording.

Family spokesperson Mboneni Yende said relatives had tried to figure out what she had been up to at work‚ but were told the CCTV surveillance system was switched off that day.

“The sad part is that on Thursday we went there‚ there were three workers that were inside the station working. On that day‚ it had been 10 days since had been missing‚” Yende said.

“Are you telling me that if someone has been dead for 10 days then you can’t smell anything? That is highly impossible. The people who were there knew what they were doing?”

Meanwhile, Search and Rescue lead investigator Lourens Smit said there is suspected foul play surrounding the death of the young woman.

“When she was reported missing‚ the whole office and its surroundings were checked by SAPS and the K9 unit. The family and community members also searched. Her body was definitely not at the office. On day 13 [13 days after she went missing] her body is found‚ locked in her office.

That definitely suggests foul play.” Smit said. Lourens also said that Eskom’s CCTV was working up until the day Thembisile Yende went missing.

“According to her cousin‚ who went to the Eskom office‚ the cameras were not working on the day that she went missing‚” Smit added.
“Why the cameras were not working‚ I don’t know‚ but there is definitely more to the disappearance.”

Eskom spokesperson Khulu Phasiwe also said the company does not yet have details surrounding Yende’s death and that a post-mortem will shed some light on what happened to her.

“All we know is that she was reported missing for two weeks. She was found in a sub station. Circumstances surrounding her death will be uncovered by the police investigation‚”

Spokesperson Kay Makhubele said the police have opened an inquest docket. “It is alleged that the woman was last seen when she went to her work place at Eskom in Springs.

Late in the evening the family went to the police station to report her missing after seeing that she was not coming back home and not answering her phone‚” Makhubele said.

“Since then the police have been searching for the whereabouts of the woman. Yesterday [Monday]‚ the police were called at Eskom‚ where they pointed out one office which was not in use and had a funny smell. The police had to break the door because it was locked‚ only to discover the body of the missing woman.”

He said the police do not yet know the cause of Yende’s death and are awaiting post-mortem results.
Makhubele said allegations that cameras were not working when the woman went missing‚ will be part of the police investigation.

“The police are appealing to anyone who might have information to come forward by contacting the nearest police station or alternatively call our Crime Line 08600 10111 or SMS 32211.”

Not less than 44 migrants, including women and babies died of thirst while on their way to Libya.

Local officials on Thursday, June 1, said the migrants died after their vehicle broke down in the desert of northern Niger.

According to Lawal Taher, the department head for the Red Cross in the Bilma region six survivors walked to a remote village where they said those they were travelling with, mostly from Ghana and Nigeria died.

Rhissa Feltou, the mayor of Agadez, a remote town on the edge of the Sahara that has become the smuggling capital of Africa, confirmed the death toll of 44. The Red Cross dispatched a team to the site “to gather information” on the circumstances.

A ship crammed with almost 1,500 African migrants finally docked in Naples, Italy, on Sunday, May 28, after being blocked for two days due to tight security arrangements at the G7 summit.

The migrants had been rescued in the Mediterranean sea aboard small and shaky vessels while trying to reach Europe.

They included 207 women, 22 among them pregnant, and over 140 children of varying ages. Their sheer numbers meant they exceeded the ship’s capacity of just 600 people.

Yesterday May 1st, Venus Williams gave the impression during an interview that her sister Serena Williams was expecting a baby girl.

While granting an interview at the French Open, she referred to the baby as “she” and everyone assumed it meant it would be a daughter for Serena and Alexis but it isn’t so. Apparently, Venus was misunderstood and Serena has now clarified.

In an Instagram post, the tennis champion revealed that she’s looking forward to the surprise of finding out the gender of the baby on the same day the baby is born.

She said her sister referred to the baby as “she” because there are five girls in their family so they are used to using the “she” pronoun when referring to each other and by extension, the baby. She also revealed that whenever she wants any of her sisters to do her any favors, she tricks them into believing she will name the baby after that particular sister, causing them to inadvertently refer to the baby with the female pronoun.

The gender of the baby is still not known according to Serena.

Met Police Assistant Commissioner, Mark Rowley has confirmed that six people died in the suspected terror attack on London Bridge and Borough Market.

Armed police shot three male suspects dead.

The vehicle that ran into people on London Bridge, continued to drive towards Borough Market, where three attackers got out and attempted to stab people, including a police officer.

Armed police were called to the scene and within eight minutes, the three attackers were shot dead.

Rowley also said the attackers were wearing fake explosives.

Holly Jones, a BBC reporter at the bridge when the incident happened, said a van had swerved off the road into a crowd of pedestrians.

“A white van driver came speeding – probably about 50mph – veered of the road into the crowds of people who were walking along the pavement,” she told BBC News.

“He swerved right round me and then hit about five or six people. He hit about two people in front of me and then three behind.

“I’d say there are about four severely injured people.

“They all have paramedics assisting them at the moment.”

A Downing Street spokesman said: “The Prime Minister is in contact with officials and is being regularly updated on the incident at London Bridge.”
One man at the scene tweeted tonight: “Horrific scene at London Bridge… bodies strewn over the pavement. B&Q van mounted the pavement.”

Antoine Griezmann says he will stay at Atletico Madrid next season as it would be a “dirty move” to leave the club after their transfer ban was upheld.

The 26-year-old forward had been linked with a move to Manchester United, before their interest in him cooled.

Atletico’s appeal against a transfer ban for breaching Fifa rules over the signing of minors was rejected by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas).

“It’s a hard time for the club,” Griezmann told French television.

The France international told Telefoot he had decided to stay at the Spanish side after discussion with his sporting advisor Eric Olhats.

“It would be a dirty move to leave now – we talked to the leaders and we will be back for next season,” he added.

Atletico, together with city rivals Real Madrid, were banned in July 2016 from registering players for two transfer windows and fined after a Fifa investigation concerning players aged under 18 who played in competitions for Atletico between 2007 and 2014, and Real from 2005 to 2014.

Both sides failed in their initial appeals to Fifa, but Real had their ban halved by Cas, while Atletico’s suspension was upheld on Thursday, although their fine was reduced.

Atletico called the Cas ruling “unfair” and said it would cause “irreparable damage” to the club.

Later on Thursday, Griezmann posted a message on social media reading: “Now more than ever! #atleti #alltogether.”

He had previously told French television show Quotidien there was a “6/10” chance of joining Manchester United this summer.
