The judiciary worker, Mr. Godwin Udoaka, who was shot by a soldier attached to Wizchino Construction Company Limited, could not find any consultant to interpret the result of an X-ray conducted on him on Thursday at the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital.
It was gathered that the X-ray had been conducted earlier, but the consultant, who is to interpret the result of the X-ray has yet to be seen by the time our correspondent left the hospital at 6pm.

Udoaka’s wife, Imaobong Udoaka, said her husband had been going through agonising pains since Wednesday.

The Acting Chief Judge of Akwa Ibom State, Justice Godwin Abraham, who visited Udoaka in the hospital on Thursday, assured the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria and Udoaka’s family that justice would prevail.

He appealed for calm from all Nigerians, as well as Udoaka’s relations, adding that nobody should take the law into their own hands.

He said, “We are legal people, we must act within the law; we will ensure that this matter is followed to the letter. Nobody is above the law; no one can do this and escape the long arms of the law.

“I have been informed that the matter has been reported to the police. Whoever is responsible for this must be made to face the music.”

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Army, 2 Brigade, denied that Udoaka was shot by a soldier of 6 Battalion, Seargent Usman Tella, who was attached to Wizchino Engineering Limited, a Chinese firm in Akwa Ibom State.

A statement from Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 2 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Captain Umar Shuiab, said the army could have dismissed the story, but for “obvious intended mischief and misinformation.”

The statement read in part, “We wish to inform the public that the incident happened around Asutan Street by Udo Street in Uyo on Wednesday at about 12.42pm when Udoka was asked to give way for an Hilux van which came in opposite direction and had right of way.

“It was thereafter that argument ensued between the two drivers. The soldier, who was an escort to the Hilux, got provoked came out and hit the windscreen of the bus which resulted in broken glass.

“We call on well-meaning Nigerians not to believe the exaggerated version of the story as reported. We call on the media to always check their contents before rushing to publish.”

A personal chef of rapper/producer Sean “Diddy” Combs sued her former employer for sexual harassment after she says he routinely made her serve him food “while he and/or his guests were engaged in or immediately following sexual activity.”

According to People Magazine, Cindy Rueda says she was hired to work for Combs in 2015, but was “lured into a situation where she could be accused of theft and ultimately terminated” after complaining about the working conditions to Combs’ estate director Stacy Friend. Rueda was fired on May 8, 2016, and filed her lawsuit one year later.

Rueda claimed that she was often summoned into her former boss’s room to discover that he “was naked” and asked her if “she was attracted to or liked his naked body.” She also said that one of Combs’s friends cornered her in the kitchen while he was nude.

TMZ reported that Rueda was let go for allegedly stealing a watch, but Combs promised not to press charges if she signed a waiver promising not to sue him.

Rueda refused to sign the paperwork on the grounds that another employee set her up to look like she stole the jewelry. She’s suing for sexual harassment, hostile work environment, and other workplace infractions.

“This is a frivolous lawsuit by a disgruntled ex-employee who was fired for cause,” a rep for Combs told the gossip site.

At least four Chibok girls kidnapped by Islamist terror group, Boko Haram in mid-April 2014, today appeared in the insurgent group's propaganda video explaining their decision not to join other abducted girls released last weekend.

The video was offered to SaharaReporters by Nigerian journalist, Ahmad Salkida, who is known to have unfettered access to the militant group.


The abducted schoolgirls, responding to questions posed by a male voice in the background gave their names and exact class level at Chibok Girls High School where they were kidnapped approximately three years ago.

James Baker, 27, viciously assaulted 32-year-old India Ali following a meeting at the Cheesecake Factory restaurant, in Los Angeles, California. The two had gone to the Westin Hotel following the date last July.

That’s where Baker launched the attack that left Ms Ali, from Los Angeles, with internal bleeding. The victim also vomited during the assault and blood was splattered everywhere in the hotel room.

‘I lifted up my head and saw all the throw-up,’ she told New York Daily News.

‘My face was laying in it on the floor. I got up and looked on the bed and there was blood everywhere.



‘I made my way to the bathroom and saw bloody towels on the floor.’

Baker was arrested after police tracked Ms Ali’s smartphone and found him in her car, which had been stolen.

Following his conviction of felony assault, Ms Ali warned people about dating someone they met on the internet.

She added: ‘I don’t want anybody else to go through anything like this.

‘I’m trying to put the word out for the younger generation. Don’t meet up with someone you don’t know like this. Just don’t do it.’

Baker could be jailed for ten years when he’s sentenced on June 5.

Ms Ali was in intensive care for a week after she was assaulted.

59-year-old Nigerian Senior Surgeon, Dr. Lawal Haruna, who reportedly removed a woman’s ovary accidentally instead of her appendix has been struck off after being branded a ‘danger to patients'.

He allegedly botched up three operations over the course of two years including removing a woman’s ovary because he said the appendix and fallopian tubes were similar ‘worm-like structures’ in the same area.

A 43-year-old man, Mr. Ajayi Oladele, has been reportedly tortured to death by operatives of the Nigerian Navy at 4 Mechanised Brigade, Benin-City, Edo State, over his alleged inability to repay N1.5 million he borrowed from a friend, Mr. Kayode Adeosho in January. Oladele was allegedly granted bail by officers of the Army Brigade Benin, where he was being detained after his health deteriorated.
 He, however, died on Friday evening at the Warri Central Hospital where he was rushed for medical treatment.

The PUNCH learnt that the deceased, a father of three, was arrested on May 8, 2017 in Warri, where he lived with his family and was allegedly tortured by soldiers who came to arrest him despite appeals that he had serious health challenges.

It was learnt that the soldiers also denied the Late Oladele access to his drugs until his health got worse.

The bereaved family in company with its lawyer, Mr Kunle Ogheneovo Edun, confirmed the development at a news conference held in Warri on Saturday, accusing the soldiers of deliberately killing their breadwinner over N1.5 million debt.

Edun, who spoke on behalf of the family, called on the authorities of the Nigerian Army to probe the killing to ensure that Oladele’s killers were arrested and justice was served.

He explained that when his health condition worsened, the late Oladele was taken to the Military Hospital in Benin where his legs were chained to the bed. When it became obvious that the Military Hospital could no longer manage the health condition, that was when he was released on May 10, 2017.

The deceased wife, Esther, who could barely speak at the press conference, demanded for justice and also called on relevant authorities to investigate the matter and bring the perpetrators to book.

The Public Relations Officer, 4 Brigade, Benin City, Capt. Maidawa Maidawa, could not be reached on the telephone for clarification on the incident.

But Sgt Hassan, who had earlier called the family to take the deceased on bail before he eventually died, when contacted declined to speak on the matter saying that journalists should come to Benin for any inquiry.

According to him, “You know the 4 Brigade in Benin-City, go there and make enquiries. The woman knows the place, let her take you there, this is an operational office line you are calling, any moment from now someone else is going to take over the phone.”

Former governor of Kano State, Ibrahim Shekarau, says “the humane nature and policies” of Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, has endeared him to the people while “his political achievements have made him a legend.”

Shekarau, also a former Minister of Education, said the affection the governor shows to the people can be seen in the “numerous humane policies and projects Fayose is executing in the state.”

According to a statement on Saturday by the Chief Press Secretary to Fayose, Idowu Adelusi, Shekarau spoke during a visit to Ado-Ekiti.

Shekarau, who was taken round some projects by Fayose, said he was overwhelmed by the close relationship between Fayose and the people of Ekiti.

He charged Nigerian leaders to emulate the Ekiti governor by identifying with their people and meeting their needs.

His words: “I am not surprised by the great performance of Governor Ayodele Fayose in Ekiti State.

“We were governors at the same time in 2003, though we were in different political parties, he did wonderfully well then too.

“I am impressed by the projects being executed by the governor despite the recession in the country and the small statutory allocations coming to the state”.

Similarly, Deputy Governor of Gombe State, Charles Yau Ilya, said he was happy at the projects and that what he saw on ground confirmed that the Ekiti governor was a true and real friend of the common man.

“This is my first visit to Ekiti State and I have heard a lot about Governor Ayodele Fayose.

“I am really happy that the governor is a living legend, whose love for the people of the state is duly reciprocated by the people who are showing their love for him too,” he said.
