The source of the fire remains unknown but the fire has since been contained by the Lagos State Fire Department. The palace is yet to send out an official statement. A bitter legal battle between Depp and his former managers Joel and Robert Mandel of The Management Group (TMG) has seen both sides try to dodge the blame over Johnny's profligate spending, and the latest papers claim the actor paid 'hundreds of thousands of dollars' to employ a sound engineer. "Depp insisted that this sound engineer be kept on yearly retainer so that he no longer had to memorise his lines," the documents suggest. But Johnny's lawyer has hit back at the claims, describing them to the BBC as "psychobabble". "This is how guilty people respond when confronted with the detailed results of a nine-month legal and forensic investigation conducted by four firms," said Adam Waldman. The legal battle started when Johnny sued his ex-managers for fraud after firing them in March 2016, but TMG are now counter-suing, insisting that they "did everything possible to protect Depp from his own irresponsible and profligate spending". Among the claims that have already arisen from the increasingly acrimonious lawsuit are that Johnny spent a huge $3million to blast author Hunter S Thompson's ashes out of a specially made cannon, that he splashed $18million on an 150-foot yacht and $4 million on a failed record label. There are also allegations he spent $30,000 a month on wine, $200,000 a month on private planes, $150,000 a month on round-the-clock security, and $300,000 a month to maintain a staff of 40 people. Dismissing Johnny's insistence that the monthly wine money was used to "invest" in pricey bottles of vintage wine, lawyers for TMG said: "Depp would be hard pressed to find a single bottle of wine that he purchased during his tenure with TMG that he or his various companions have not yet consumed.Wine is not an investment if you drink it as soon as you buy it." Our correspondent learnt that the latest attack was the third in 2017. A lawmaker, Emma Orie, who represents Ohaji /Egbema state constituency told our correspondent on the phone on Wednesday, that his office was not burgled during the armed robbery attack. He, however, said that the offices of three of his colleagues, Mike Iheanatu (Aboh Mbaise) Uche Oguwuike (Ikeduru) and Uche Agabiga (Orsu) were robbed by the gangsters. An Assembly source, who preferred to be anonymous, said that the hoodlums gained access into the offices of the three lawmakers through the ceilings at night., Punch reports. According to him, it was when the staff members attached to the lawmakers resumed for work in the morning that they discovered that the tables and chairs had been turned upside down, and computers, documents, television sets and other valuables had been stolen. When contacted, the Chief Press Secretary to the speaker of the house of Assembly, Ben Ilochonwu confirmed the development and said that the hoodlums only stole electronic sets and gadgets from the lawmakers’ offices. When contacted for reaction, one of the affected lawmakers, Iheanatu, dropped the phone on our correspondent immediately he introduced himself to him. The federal government through the Minister Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, on Tuesday appealed the founder of Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua (TB Joshua) to reconsider his decision to relocate from Nigeria, DailyPost reports. He said the such move will not be in the best of the country. TB Joshua on Sunday announced that he would relocate from Nigeria to Israel due to “hostile environmentâ€. He said, “This is the most persecuted ministry in the world. Who are the people persecuting the ministry? My people, Africa. “That is why I choose to live a lonely life. If you want to see me, come to this church. I don’t go out. It has not been easy – because I don’t know who is a friend or who is an enemy. “If you learn TB Joshua is not around, I am in a revival. I live in the church here. I don’t have a house outside.†“What happened to me from the beginning of my ministry is enough to chase me out of this country. “But I am still in your midst. Upon the persecution and hatred, I decided to follow the path of love. You show hatred; I show love. “When I go for a revival, you will see the stadium full but I am not carried away by that. I leave where I’m celebrated to live where I’m persecuted.†But Mohammed in a chat with journalists during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Nigerian Association of Tour Operators (NATOP) in Lagos, described Joshua’s decision as unfortunate. Mohammed called for dialogue between the pastor and the authorities over whatever challenges he was facing. His words: “That will be very unfortunate in the sense that if he does move out, it will affect our tourism in Nigeria. “Pastor Joshua is an important person, he must bear with us. This is his country; if he moves out and go to South Africa, for example, the revenue will go to South Africa. “It is better that Pastor Joshua sits down with the relevant authority and resolve whatever problem he has. A Schengen visa costs €60 per adult person, €35 per persons age 6-12 years of age, while children under six years are issued the visa free of charge. However, Adefin allegedly defrauded the woman of N850,000 on pretext of securing a Schengen visa for her, and has appeared in a Surulere Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagostoday (Wednesday). ‎ ‎ Adefin, whose address was not provided, is facing a two-count charge of stealing and obtaining money under false pretences. ‎ The accused committed the offences sometime in August 2016 at No. 24, Adisa Bashau St., Off Adelabu, Surulere, at about 1.00 p.m., Police Prosecutor Christopher Okoliko told the court. ‎He said the accused obtained N850,000 from the complainant, Fibiana Ikechion, with a promise to get a Schengen visa for her. The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the Schengen 26-member-states include Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Italy and Spain. Okoliko said the accused failed to procure the visa for the complainant or refund the money. ‎The offences contravened sections 285(1) and 321 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised).‎ NAN also reports that Section 285 (1) stipulates three years for stealing, while Section 321 provides two years for obtaining by false pretences. ‎ The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.‎ Ruling on the bail application of the accused, the Chief Magistrate, Mr. A.A. Paul, granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum. Paul said one of the sureties must be gainfully employed, while the other surety should be a landed property owner in Lagos State. In addition, the sureties ‎should provide evidence of tax payments to the Lagos State Government. ‎The case was adjourned until May 31 for mention. Popular Democratic Party presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton has opened up on her challenges during the 2016 election which prevented her from making history. Hillary Clinton on Tuesday laid the blame for her defeat in last year’s White House race squarely at the feet of FBI director James Comey and Russia’s Vladimir Putin, saying they had “scared off†voters. The Democrat, speaking at a charity luncheon in New York, said she took “absolute personal responsibility†for a series of campaign blunders that contributed to her loss to Donald Trump. But she pointed a finger at Russian hacking and interference and at the Federal Bureau of Investigation director, who revealed just before the November 8 election he was re-opening a probe into Clinton’s use of a personal email server while serving as secretary of state. “I was on the way to winning until a combination of Jim Comey’s letter on October 28th and Russian WikiLeaks raised doubts in the minds of people who were inclined to vote for me, but got scared off,†Clinton said. “If the election had been on October 27, I’d be your president.†Trump responded hours later with a pair of snarky tweets, attacking Clinton and saying the Russia affair was a Democratic ploy to justify her loss to him. In January the US intelligence community announced it had concluded Russia interfered in the election — and that Putin himself ordered a campaign to undermine the US democratic process and harm Clinton’s electability in order to help Trump win. Clinton described the Russian president as someone who was “not a member of my fan club.†“He certainly interfered in our election and it was clear he hurt me and helped my opponent,†she said. Clinton pointed to the release of an old video tape on October 7 on which Trump is heard crudely discussing groping women, and how “within an hour or two†of the tapes’ release, the Russian theft of Clinton staffers’ emails was made public on WikiLeaks. “What a coincidence. According to a statement signed by the institution’s Director of Public Communications, Olatunji Oladejo, said Effiong Imarbong died after she jumped from a dangerous position having displayed signs of restlessness during the show. The statement said, “It is with deep regret that the management of the University of Ibadan announces the sudden death of Miss Effiong Deborah Imarbong, a 100 Level student in our Faculty of Law on Monday, May 1, 2017 at the University College Hospital, Ibadan. Imarbong became hyperactive and developed strange attitude after returning to the hall and left the venue after a wild dance.“It was further revealed that she left the venue of the movie show and, thereafter, there was a bang, which her colleagues explained, she jumped from a dangerous position in the Hall.  She was later found by her colleagues in a seemingly helpless condition in the precinct of the hall,†the statement said.
