A Nigerian lady identified as Olaitan Adonis has ended it all after her boyfriend, Ola Saheed, reportedly married another woman.
Reports gathered that Olaitan, mother of a seven-year-old boy, saved her money in his bank account while their relationship lasted.
Sadly, he used the money to marry someone else over the weekend and after receiving the news, Olaitan, who couldn’t hold back her tears, consumed a poisonous substance to end it all.
A source who spoke anonymously said,
“I heard they were together last Thursday, September 8, they even spent the night together, but on Friday, a friend of hers told her the guy is getting married on Sunday, September 11. She was said to have consumed a poisonous substance and died the following day, Saturday, September 10.â€
The employer of the deceased who also spoke on the tragic incident, said,
“My salesgirl has been giving him money from my shop for upkeep, but he squandered the whole money. She even sent him N10k on Friday. After she ended it all, we called him and he said it’s none of his business.â€
Friends of the deceased have taken to Facebook to mourn her unfortunate demise.

Superstar Nigerian rapper, Panshak Zamani, popularly known as Ice Prince, has reacted after his release from Ikoyi prison.
He stated that freedom is priceless after spending six days in the correctional centre.
The rapper stated this via his Twitter handle on Thursday night, September 15, a week after he was released on bail.
“Freedom is priceless,†he tweeted.
The ‘Oleku’ crooner is standing trial on a three-count charge bordering on assault, obstructing a policeman from carrying out its statutory duties, and abduction.
He was arrested in the early hours of Friday September 2, for allegedly abducting and assaulting a police officer in Lagos.
The court granted him bail in the sum of N500,000 and asked him to provide “two responsible sureties.
The court also ordered his remand at the Ikoyi correctional facility until his bail conditions were met.

Also, presidential candidates representing the nation’s 18 registered political parties would be slugging it out in next year’s general election, the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has stated.
This is in spite of reports that the African Democratic Congress ADC may have suspended its presidential candidate, Dumebi Kachikwu.
However, at its regular weekly meeting held on, the Commission approved the final list of candidates for national elections (Presidential, Senatorial and Federal Constituencies) pursuant to section 32(1) of the Electoral Act 2022 and item 8 of the Timetable and Schedule of Activities for the 2023 General Election.

INEC National Commissioner in charge of Information and Voter Education Committee, Barr. Festus Okoye explained that the publication of the full names and addresses of all nominated candidates follows the political parties’ conduct of primaries and completion of the nomination exercise.
“Nigerians may recall that at end of the process, the personal particulars of all nominated candidates were displayed in their constituencies nationwide as provided by section 29(3) of the Electoral Act.
“Subsequently, validly nominated candidates had the opportunity to voluntarily withdraw their candidature by notice in writing and personally deliver such notice to the political party that nominated them for the election. Thereafter, political parties substituted such candidates under section 31 of the Electoral Act for which the last day was 15th July 2022 for national elections and 12th August 2022 for State elections as clearly provided in item 6 of the Commission’s Timetable and Schedule of Activities.
“Thereafter, no withdrawal or substitution of candidates is allowed except in the event of death as provided in section 34(1) of the Electoral Act or pursuant to an order of a Court of competent jurisdictionâ€, he stated.
According to him, the list published today contains the names of candidates validly nominated for national elections at the close of party primaries and the period earmarked for withdrawal and substitution of candidates.
He said the final list of candidates for State elections (Governorship and State Constituencies) will be published on 4th October 2022 as already indicated on the Timetable and Schedule of Activities for the 2023 General Election.
“We note the fact that not all the political parties conducted primaries in all the constituencies, submitted the particulars of candidates that emerged from valid primaries or substituted their candidates after fresh primaries within 14 days as provided in section 33 of the Electoral Act.
“This has led to numerous litigations, some of which are ongoing. Where the Commission was served with Court orders by aggrieved aspirants or candidates before the publication of this list, these have been indicated under the remark column.
“In summary, all the 18 political parties have fielded candidates and their running mates for the Presidential election. For legislative elections, 1,101 candidates are vying for 109 Senatorial seats and 3,122 candidates for Federal Constituencies i.e. House of Representatives seats, making a total of 4,223 candidates contesting for 469 legislative positions.Â
“In terms of gender distribution, 3,875 candidates are male, made up of 35 for Presidential and Vice Presidential, 1,008 for Senate and 2,832 for House of Representatives. Similarly, 381 females comprising 1 for Presidential, 92 for Senate, and 288 for House of Representatives are contesting. There are also 11 Persons with disabilities (PWDs) in the race.
“The list for specific constituencies is published in each State where they are located while the comprehensive nationwide list has been uploaded to the Commission’s website.
“We appeal to all political parties to channel any observations on the list of candidates to the Commission and such must be signed by the National Chairman and Secretary of the political party and supported with an affidavit as provided in section 32(2) of the Electoral Act 2022â€, the statement added.

WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury has claimed Anthony Joshua is yet to return his contract to finalise their Battle of Britain clash in Cardiff this December – slamming him as a ‘s**thouse bodybuilder’ and accusing him of not having the b****cks’ to face him.

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has said Atiku Abubakar's decision to pick Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State as his running mate didn't come to him as a surprise.
Atiku is the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in the 2023 election.
Wike made the statement while speaking at a media briefing in Port Harcourt on Friday.
The governor stated that he was aware of the underground moves by the Delta governor before the PDP presidential primaries, stressing that he expected good sense to prevail in the party.
He said Okowa was the only South-South governor who didn’t buy a nomination form to vie for the presidency or a senatorial seat and that might have been a pointer to his undeclared ambition.
He said: “Atiku was going to run with Okowa. That Okowa supported him. We were all aware. It is not that we didn’t see.
“Take for instance the United States of America, (Joe) Biden ran and the current vice president of America, Kamala Harris, gave Biden serious problem.
“When they wanted to pick the Vice President, Biden said this woman gave me a serious problem, I cannot pick this woman, but those in Biden’s camp, who meant well for him told him, ‘If you want to win this election, you must pick Kamala Harris.’ And look at the support (for Biden) today.
“The problem with some of our leaders is that there are so many rent-seekers around them. They (rent-seekers) have not been in power for years.
“So they are all looking for how to bounce back. They are people who have no value to add.â€
If you’re female and reading this wondering why I’m only writing about women who cheat, know that there is a piece on — “13 Reasons Why Men Cheat†— that has become one of my most widely read.
But now it’s time to look at female infidelity.
There is a common misperception that it’s only men who step out on their partners and that women are always faithful. To that, I say: Who are all these men cheating with exactly? Do heterosexual men only cheat with single women and each other?
The simple truth is that approximately as many married, heterosexual women cheat as married, heterosexual men. Research suggests that 10 to 20 percent of men and women in marriages or other committed (monogamous) relationships will actively engage in sexual activity outside of their primary relationship. And these numbers are likely under-reported, possibly by a wide margin, thanks to denial and confusion about what constitutes infidelity in the digital era. For example: Are you cheating if you look at porn? If you flirt on social media? If you have a profile on Ashley Madison that you check regularly, even though you never hook up in person?
To help couples answer these questions, I offer you my fully functional, digital-era definition of what it means to cheat:
Infidelity (cheating) is the breaking of trust that occurs when you keep profound, meaningful secrets from a committed primary partner.
I like this definition for four primary reasons:
1. The definition speaks to the most basic element of what happens when we cheat on our partners. We betray their trust. In such cases, even more than our sextracurricular activity, it is the lying and the secrecy of betrayal that wounds a beloved and unknowing partner (male or female).
2. The definition encompasses both online and real-world sexual activity, as well as sexual and romantic activities that stop short of intercourse: everything from looking at porn to kissing another man/woman to something as simple as flirting (now commonly referred to as micro-cheating).
3. The definition is flexible depending on the couple. It lets couples define their own version of sexual fidelity based on honest discussions and mutual decision-making. This means that it might be just fine to look at porn or to engage in some other form of extramarital sexual activity, as long as your mate knows about this behavior and is okay with it.
4. The definition helps the cheater understand that the problem he or she created occurred the moment he or she started lying to accommodate or cover up his or her infidelity. The harm is not a spouse finding out the bad news — the harm is that it was covered up.
None of that, of course, explains why women cheat. Nor does it address the fact that women and men often cheat for very different reasons.
So Why Do Women Cheat?
Typically, females step out on a committed partner for one or more of the following reasons:
They feel underappreciated, neglected, or ignored. They feel more like a housekeeper, nanny, or financial provider than a wife or girlfriend. So they seek an external situation that validates them for who they are, rather than the services they perform.
They crave intimacy. Women tend to feel valued and connected to a significant other more through non-sexual, emotional interplay (talking, having fun together, being thoughtful, building a home and social life together, etc.) than sexual activity. When they’re not feeling that type of connection from their primary partner, they may seek it elsewhere.
They are overwhelmed by the needs of others. Recent research about women who cheat indicates that many women, despite stating that they deeply love their spouse, their home, their work, and their lives, cheat anyway. These women often describe feeling so under-supported and overwhelmed by having to be all things to all people at all times that they seek extramarital sex as a form of life-fulfillment.
They are lonely. Women can experience loneliness in a relationship for any number of reasons. Maybe their spouse works long hours or travels for business on a regular basis, or maybe their spouse is emotionally unavailable. Whatever the cause, they feel lonely, and they seek connection through infidelity to fill the void.
They expect too much from a primary relationship. Some women have unreasonable expectations about what their primary partner and relationship should provide. They expect their significant other to meet their every need 24/7, 365 days a year, and when that doesn’t happen, they seek attention elsewhere.
They are responding to or re-enacting early-life trauma and abuse. Sometimes women who experienced profound early-life (or adult) trauma, especially sexual trauma, will re-enact that trauma as a way of trying to master or control it.
They’re not having enough satisfying sex at home. There is a societal misconception that only men enjoy sex. But plenty of women also enjoy sex, and if they’re not getting it at home, or it’s not enjoyable to them, for whatever reason, they may well seek it elsewhere.
As with male cheaters, women who cheat typically do not realize (in the moment) how profoundly infidelity affects their partner and their relationship. Cheating hurts betrayed men just as much as it hurts betrayed women. The keeping of secrets, especially sexual and romantic secrets, damages relationship trust and is incredibly painful regardless of gender.
If a couple chooses to address the situation together, couple’s counseling can turn a relationship crisis into a growth opportunity. Unfortunately, even when experienced therapists are extensively involved with people committed to healing, some couples are unable to ever regain the necessary sense of trust and emotional safety required to make it together. For these couples, solid, neutral relationship therapy can help the people involved to process a long overdue goodbye. But cheating doesn’t have to be seen as the end of a relationship; instead, it can be viewed as a test of its maturity and ability to weather the storm.
Governor Nyesom Wike has refuted reports suggesting that the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Bola Tinubu offered him a senatorial ticket to defect to the party after the Rivers State leader lost the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s presidential primary poll.
The reports had claimed that Wike made the comment during a media chat on Friday but the governor’s media aide Kelvin Ebiri says the stories are “baselessâ€.
“We wish to state emphatically that this news is false, baseless, and ludicrous as the Rivers State governor throughout the media chat never mentioned the name of the APC presidential candidate or alluded to him offering him a senatorial ticket,†he said.
Ebiri also shared a transcript of the media parley where the governor made a comment about senatorial form as thus: “’First of all, this is how you know those who are prepared to run an election. Some of them collected presidential forms and at the same time collected senatorial forms. You’ll know that those people are not serious to run.
“’I never collected senatorial form. Even after the whole thing, people said come and go for Senate, I said no. I won’t do that. I’ve already made a commitment that this Senate ticket should be zoned to this area (Etche) because they’ve never had it before. I must not be in power.’â€

I am from Effoi, in the Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. I am 17 years old. I am an orphan. I don’t have parents.
Is it true that you were trafficked by someone?
Yes, it is true. The man’s name is Okon.
When and how did it happen?
The incident happened in 2019; I was 14 years old at the time. I met the man on Facebook and we started discussing. I was in a boarding school then. I was in SS2 in Cornelia Connelly College, Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State. I met Okon on Facebook and we started talking.
After I told him about myself, he told me that he was my biological father and that he had my siblings with him. I have never met my biological dad; it was just my mum that I knew but she died when I was only five. That was the reason I was put in an orphanage.
Along the line, Okon told me to come and meet him but I said there was no way I could come out of the orphanage. But he insisted that I should come to meet him. So, I sneaked out and went to meet him.
What happened then?
When I came back to the orphanage, my mates reported me to the principal of my school and the principal invited the coordinator of the orphanage. The coordinator said he would come on Monday; the incident happened on a Friday. Later that day, I called Okon and told him what had happened as a result of my visit to him. He then asked me to pack my things and that he would come pick me from the place. He promised to take care of me and sponsor my education. I did as he instructed me. I packed my bags and patiently waited for him to come pick me. He came with a car to pick me. That was how I started living with him.
Where did he take you to?
He took me to Ibeno Local Government Area where he hails from. He was always telling me he was my father, but then he started sleeping with me. Sometimes he would send me out to sleep with other men and they would pay him. He made money off me. This continued until he impregnated me and we had to pin the pregnancy on another man. The man insisted the pregnancy wasn’t his at first but Okon blackmailed him; he said he would tell everyone that the man r*ped me. Then the man eventually took responsibility for the pregnancy. I gave birth to the baby but I lost it later. However, we didn’t tell the man, so he continued to send money. The man was based in Abuja and anytime he came to Akwa Ibom to visit the child, Okon would give me his biological child to present to the man as his child.
Did you ever attempt to escape?
I always told him that I was tired and that he should let me leave but he wouldn’t agree. He was always threatening me; so there was no way for me to escape.
He also threatened me that if I opened up to anyone, he would strangle me to death. After the child died, he told me it was the other man that killed the child. With annoyance, I tried reaching the man but he didn’t pick my calls, so I sent him a text and explained everything to him. The man reply my text message and sympathised with me on the death of the baby. I think the man called Okon and told him what I said. But Okon told him that the baby didn’t die and told me to call him back and tell him that the baby was still alive. Out of fear I called the man again and told him the child didn’t die, as instructed by Okon.
How were you rescued?
Okon attempted to impregnate me again, with the plan to give the child to the man but I refused. He started maltreating me and forcing himself on me. He started beating me with wire and using a plastic chair to hit me. He locked me inside one room without food and water but I found a way to escape and reported to Child’s Right and Rehabilitation Centre. They stepped in and reported him to the police, leading to his arrest.
Where is Okon now?
He is still in police detention.
Have you received any medical care after your escape?
Yes, I have gone to the hospital. I was tested and the doctor confirmed that I am pregnant. There is a cut on my head too.
Whose pregnancy is it?
It is for Okon.
How do you feel now?
I don’t feel good at all because of the pregnancy. I am frustrated and very sad.
Where do you live now?
I live in an orphanage here in Eket.
Do you wish to continue your education or you want to acquire a skill?
I stopped school in SS2. I really want to continue my education.
In all of this, what have you learnt?
I have learnt my lesson. I have learnt to be contented and not to trust anyone I don’t know. In all of this, I still thank God because I was able to find my brother even though I am not happy with myself because of the situation I am in.
