Lawrence Anini was a menace in the 80s. Popularly called Anini unleased deadly attacks in the old Bendel State, now Edo and Delta states. Ishola Oyenusi, also called ‘Doctor’ Oyenusi was a robbery kingpin who wreaked havoc in the 70s in the western part of the country using physical and diabolical weapons. A cold-blooded armed robber, Oyenusi robbed banks and people in both daylight and night and was said to kill his victims afterward which earned him the name “Doctor rob and kill.†Oyenusi’s last robbery was at the WAHUM factory in Ikeja in March 1971. He and his gang members stole £28,000 and killed a police officer in the process. He was eventually arrested in Ibadan by a team of detectives including Retired Police inspector Joseph Itoto Igodo on May 7, 1971. On September 8, 1971, Oyenusi and his gang members were executed at the famous Bar Beach.Â
Mighty Joe
Born Isiaka Busari, Mighty Joe became the leader after his boss Oyenusi was executed. Some of the men in his camp included ex-soldiers who were demobilized. Mighty Joe and his gang terrorized the South West robbing and killing as they wished. In 1973, his reign of terror came to an end after he was arrested for robbing a hotel bartender by the name Micheal Osayunana of N10 Naira. He was tried and sentenced to death by a firing squad. Reports also had it that while in prison, awaiting his execution, Mighty Joe converted to Islam
Abubakar Shekau
Shekau led the Jama’atu Ahlis-Sunnah Lidda’awati Wal Jihad popularly known as Boko Haram following the death of its leader Mohammed Yusuf IN 2009. Boko haram terrorized the North East for years. In 2009, it was believed Shekau had been killed only to reappear in viral videos, where he was seen making more threats and boasting of his many crimes against the country.
Boko Haram raided multiple communities and abducted residents, including children. The abduction of Chibok girls in 2014, to date, is one of the atrocities committed by this sect, that not many will forget in years to come.

Born Terwase Akwaza, Gana was the leader of a militia group in Benue State who plowed several communities for over a decade. Gana reportedly wreaked havoc on these communities between 2015 and 2020. Gana in 2020, turned himself in for amnesty and was allegedly murdered by the Nigerian Army.

A 16-year-old Ezera Nmesomachi has emerged the overall winner of the 2022 Teens Essay Competition organized by The National Children and Teens Desk of The Presbyterian Church Of Nigeria.
A native of Ebem Ohafia, Ohafia LGA Abia state, Nmesomachi worships at Solid Rock Parish of Presbyterian Church Of Nigeria, Umuahia.
The essay competition which has as the theme, “The Beauty Of The Presbyterian Liturgy†was organized for teenagers between the ages of 13 – 19 years in all the parishes of the church within the country.
Nmesomachi, an ex-student of Intellectual Giant Christian Academy Umuahia sat for the 2022 WAEC.
Speaking on the essay Topic she said it has to do with the uniqueness of the method of worship, making one stand apart from every other method of worship by other churches.
Nmesomachi while speaking said it is the first time to write an essay competition and having the first position motivates her.
She said hard work inspired her to write the essay, In her words ’’actually when I was writing this essay it wasn’t easy at some point I became frustrated I just felt like I won’t be able to get the first position so it’s of no use writing this I just need to drop my pen because as that time I was still writing my exams so I was actually struggling, reading for my exams and writing essay to emerge the first position.
‘’I feel very happy and grateful to God, to my parents and to the church at large for giving me this opportunity to showcase my talent and do what I love most.
‘’For those that wrote this essay competition with me and couldn’t make it I will actually tell them to keep striving they should not give up on anything at all, they should also make hard work and God their priority.‘’

Bangtan Sonyeondan, better known by their mononymous acronym BTS, broke new ground in the music industry early on the morning of Monday, August 29, 2022, when the seven young men became the first and only group in history to win the MTV Video Music Award for Best Group Of The Year.

The members of BTS were honored as the first and only group in the history of the MTV Video Music Awards to win the Group of the Year award four times when they took home the trophy for their fourth time in 2022. Now they have eleven Video Music Awards to their name.
BTS has won a total of 65 awards across all the American award shows.
A total of 261 persons were confirmed dead after a McDonnell-Douglas DC-8 aircraft, flew hajj pilgrims to Sokoto on behalf of the defunct Nigeria Airways. The plane crashed in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on July 11, 1991. On why the plane crashed, this was reportedly due to a bad tire and loss of hydraulics.

On September 26, 1992, a Lockheed C-130H Hercules, flown by the Nigerian Airforce, crashed near Lagos. At least 158 occupants were reported dead after the crash. Reports have it that an engine failed just after take off and in no time, the second engine and then a third engine.
ADC Airlines
On November 7, 1996, all 144 passengers aboard a Boeing 727 operated by ADC airline were killed. The plane took off from Port Harcourt and crashed in Ejirin in Epe. The pilot was reportedly trying to avoid a head-on collision with another aircraft but failed.
Sossoliso Airlines
December 10, 2005, a McDonnell-Douglas operated by Sossoliso Airlines crashed, killing 108 persons. The passengers aboard the flight were mostly students of the Loyola Jesuit College in Abuja. Two occupants were rescued alive. Bad weather was the reason given for the crash.
