Money is the root of all evil. It can either keep a man or destroy him, it can also unite a family or destroy it. And if from infant you treat a child as a god, he/she is liable to act as a devil when they grow up. Sometimes, is good for a wise man to play a fool for the fool to be the fool.

Philip Schofield’s wife breaks her silence after her husband came out as gay after 27 years of marriage by Folake(f) : 7:32 am On Feb 10

Philip Schofield’s wife of 27 years, Stephanie Lowe has broken her silence after her husband revealed on TV that he’s gay.

On Friday morning, February 7, Briitish television host Philip Schofield took to Instagram to reveal that he’s gay before appearing on This Morning to discuss his announcement.

Philip Schofield

Two days after his announcement, his wife Stephanie spoke publicly about it for the first time.

Speaking candidly to The Sun on Sunday, Steph, 55, said: “We’ve had to face the most emotionally painful time in our 27 years of marriage.”

Phil married Stephanie, 55, in 1993 after they met when she was a BBC production Assistant and he was working for the BBC Children’s television. Their 27-year marriage is blessed with two daughters, Molly, 27, a talent manager, and Ruby, 24.

Philip said he “knew” he was gay when he married his wife. He added that he believes he’s known he was gay throughout his marriage to Stephanie, saying: “Whatever was ”there’ I thought, ‘OK, whatever this is, you stay back because I am happy.’ ”

He added that he was “naive” to think he could suppress his sexuality when he married Steph 27 years ago.

The star has hailed his wife and daughters for the way they’ve supported him through everything.

Philip Schofield

It comes as it was revealed that Stephanie reportedly has no plans to divorce him. A source has claimed Stephanie Lowe does not wish to formally end their marriage until he is settled in a new relationship.

The source told The Mirror: “Steph isn’t bitter over Phil’s coming out. She isn’t the type to be spiteful by dragging him into court. She’s saying she’ll stick with him until he’s settled and happy in a new relationship, and then they’ll talk about an amicable split deal.”

Two years ago, This Morning celebrated Phillip and Steph’s 25th silver wedding anniversary during the show. However, there are claims Philip’s sexuality was an “open secret” on the This Morning set and he allegedly told ITV bosses about his plans to come out in an impromptu meeting on Thursday. It’s also claimed that his close friend and co-host Holly had known about his sexuality for some time.

“I Nearly Abandoned My Music Career Because I Sounded Like Wizkid” – T-Classic Reveals by Folake(f) : 9:17 am On Feb 10

Sensational singer, T-Classic has revealed how he almost quit music because of pressure.

In a recent interview, the singer opened up on how he almost quit his music career. According to him, he never had a chance to hit it big because other big acts were dropping songs at the time he was still an upcoming artiste. He revealed that he sounded like Wizkid and Kizz Daniel but with the help of Killertunes, he was able to change his sound.

He added that he lived with Killertunes for 3 years who bought everything from clothes to even boxers just for him to survive.T- Classic further disclosed that since the success of all his tracks released last year, things have changed financially as he has been able to provide for his family.

In his words: “There was pressure, that was why I wanted to stop after the last song. My eyes see oo. Some things even happened in the label that I don’t want to talk about, you understand? I cried like it was too much. It was that time Lil Kesh dropped Lyrically, other artistes too were dropping hits back to back. It was really sad. But it doesn’t in any way affect my style of music. I will give that to Killertunes when it comes to sounds because I used to sound like Wizkid then. So he helped me worked on my sound like he would tell me to blow air into my voice.

“Now, I hear people saying I’m sounding like Kizz Daniel and I’m like wow, I don’t even know Kizz Daniel when I started. That was 2013, I’m like I have been sounding like this for a long time and Killertunes tried to help me build this and modify it. It doesn’t get to me though, I’m just doing my things.

On things that have changed now, he said. Things that have changed, first of all, I couldn’t afford to buy things for myself back then, clothes, shoes, even food. There is one Mallam that used to make noodles for me and Killertunes back then, I stayed with Killertunes for like 3 years in the same room. We ate together, wore the same clothes, and sometimes, he would buy clothes for me including boxers. One thousand naira was a big money for me back then, but now I can buy food for many people now. I can afford to buy food, clothes, shoes, and jewelry. I may not be able to buy a car now but we are getting there.

“Now, I pay my siblings’ school fees. I pay my parents salary every month. Things have really changed for me, to the extent that I can’t even do some things or go out alone, I have to ask my guys to do it for me. There was a time I was in a car with my friends, we went to get fuel, as I got down and put the keg down. Someone just said, T Classic, you sef dey buy fuel? (laugh) I’m like, I don’t understand this again but I thank God, I’m happy where I am.”

How Igbo Christian Was Buried In Muslim Grave In Kano By Hisbah by Folake(f) : 12:48 am On Feb 11

Basil Chukwumeze

Basil Chukwumeze

When Chief Basil Chukwumeze Obiefule Ejesi died on December 26 last year in Kano State, his family members and kinsmen had hoped to carry his remains back to his hometown in Amucha, Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State for burial.

But his final journey back home turned out to be a very long one as he was mistaken for another deceased person and buried in Kano in a grave marked for a Muslim, one Abdullahi Obinwa, who hailed from Anambra State, but changed his faith while in Kano.

The late Ejesi, who was said to have been born in Kano some 60 years ago, was survived by his wife and children, among them a pharmacist. He lived in his own house at Number 18 Aitken Road in Sabon-Garri Area of the state capital.

A family relation of the deceased, Mr Felix Ezeala, told the story of the fatal error of mistaken identity of Egesi who was finally buried at Amucha on January 30, 2020, saying that his late towns man had suddenly taken ill and was rushed to the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano, on December 24, last year, where he eventually died on the morning of December 26, following complications related to hypertension.

“His corpse was taken to the mortuary section and the deceased tally number was 22. Two of his immediate relatives were there, in the person of Felix Nwanze and Bath Ejesi, his cousin. They registered their names as the people with the tally number and who would visit the corpse and see how it was, until the time to take it to the East.

“A wake-keep was arranged to hold on the 24th January 2020. However, when the relatives of the deceased went to the hospital on that Friday – that date was billed for his wake-keep, they were shocked at their finding.

“They went there with his casket and the clothes for his dressing, but when they went there with the tally number, hoping to see the corpse in good condition, surprisingly the Chief Morticians, one Abdulwahid Buhari, told them that the corpse had been released to Hisbah.

“They asked him what had the corpse of their brother to do with Hisbah? They were told that it was an order of a Sharia Upper Court, situated opposite the Emir’s inside the city. They were totally confused. It was at this point that they called on my attention to the development.

“When they called me, I was equally uncomfortable with the development. I know the late Basil as a complete gentleman to the core. He was not a troublesome person during his lifetime. I wondered in my mind. What could have led to his corpse being taken away by Hisbah?

“We then decided to go the said Sharia Upper Court to establish what had transpired. All of us went to the Sharia Upper Court. We inquired from the registrar what had actually transpired. He said yes that it was from this court that they issued the order.

“He explained that there was a complaint that he was a Muslim and had died and that they (Hisbah) wanted to bury him according to Islamic rites, but his family had refused.

“But we told the registrar that there was a mistake because our brother’s profile did not fit into what he had described as our brother Basil who had died as a devout Christian.

“At this point, the registrar asked us to go and come back when the judge who gave the order would return. He said that the judge was not around to give us the comprehensive details of the judgment.

“At that moment I called the Director of Department of State Services to intimate him on what was going on. I also called the Commissioner of Police to also to intimidate him.

“But before the judge could come back, we went back to the hospital and met the Chief Medical Director. He called the acting HoD of the Pathology Department. He asked him about the court order that was minuted to him, including what exactly transpired?

“He brought out the paper and what the paper read was one Abdullahi Obinwa. He then said that if the name of the intended corpse was Abdullahi Obinwa, how come they released the corpse of one Basil Ejesi to Hisbah?

The pathologist responded that he only minuted on the same memo to the Chief Mortician for appropriate action, saying that the Mortician was in the best position to answer the question about the mix-up. Then, they called the Chief Morticians and asked him to bring the record.

“In the record, we saw the exact name of our brother written, his age, 60 years was also written and his tally number. It was there that they discovered that it was a wrong corpse that they released to the Sharia police.

“Then we went back to the court, with the Chief Legal Adviser of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, one Barrister Nasidi, alongside the acting HoD of the Pathology Department and the Chief Mortician. The judge told us that they acted based on the application made by Hisbah in respect of one Abdullahi Obinwa, who had been a Moslem since 1978.

“The judge said that his order was very clear to them that when they get to the mortuary, they should ensure that the corpse they were to take was that of the late Abdullahi Obinwa and no other person’s.

“He added that his order included that they were to get three witnesses to also confirm and sign the paper that it was Abdullahi’s corpse. He showed us documented evidence that he actually gave those orders.

“The judge said that he made room for the family of the said Abdullahi Obinwa to be contacted, saying that they contacted his wife, but they returned to say that his wife was not cooperating.

“He said that he sent for the wife, but she refused to come. And even when they gave her paper to write why, she wrote something that was immediately clear.

“It was there and then that they decided to take the corpse to the Gandu Albasa Mosque and call on the Chief Imam who knew the late Obinwa well enough. Again the judge said that he ordered that the Chief Imam should also get three others to reconfirm the deceased and after their signing the papers, they should bring them back to him for the record of the court.

“The record he showed indicated that they went through all the directives of the court and returned the signed papers. It was then that they buried the man on 20th January, 2020.

“The judge then asked us what we wanted. In response, we demanded for the corpse of our late brother. At that point, he explained that he could not ask for the corpse to be exhumed immediately until he has heard from the other party. For equity and justice to prevail, all the parties should return back by 9:00a.m on Monday.

“On Monday, we set out to the Sharia court in the company of the wife of the deceased and his first son, who is also a pharmacist. On arrival, we were met by those who gave the wrong information to the judge. When the life photograph of our late brother was presented, it became clear that a mistake had occurred. The person who helped out the most was the one who went and brought an album of the late Abdullahi Obinwa.

“It was now easy to compare the two deceased persons. They showed them to the judge and the judge showed it the complainants who immediately confessed that they had made a mistake. There and then the judge rebuked them for their mistake and drew our attention to the fact that he acted on the information given to him, pointing out that he neither knew the late Obinwa or the late Basil.

“The judge, however, observed that only a superior court has the power to upturn his judgment. But I think the lawyers there, including the legal adviser of the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, and our own lawyer reminded him that ab initio his order was improper as he had no jurisdiction over Aminu Kano Teaching hospital, which is a federal establishment.

“Somehow, the lawyers settled their thing and the judge reasoned with them. He thereafter wrote a letter to the DPO at Sharada, asking him to provide cover for the Hisbah officials and the staff of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital to go and exhume the corpse from the cemetery and hand it over to his family.

“He ordered that they should open the corpse, invite the family to see and certify that what they were about to be given was their brothers corpse, while saying that he would not like another complaint to arise from the present order.

“The deceased was exhumed, taken to the hospital and he was okay. Nothing was tampled with. His body was complete when we received it. The Hisbah officials gave us a paper to sign that we met his body in good condition for which I was a signatory.

“The body of the deceased was released to us and departed from Kano on Tuesday in the morning by 8 O’clock and arrived at Orlu by Wednesday. The corpse was buried on Friday by 12:00 midday in his home,” he narrated.

THE IMAM’S SIDE OF THE STORY

According to a BBC report, Aminu Adam, the Chief Imam of Gadun Albasa Mosque, who led in the burial rites, admitted that he made an error.

“We were told that Abdullahi Obinwa was number 22 on the mortuary and when I went to identify the corpse, Basil Ejensi looked like Obinwa, who had lived with us for 40 years.

“They were both chubby and not too tall, but there was no beard. When I asked the mortuary attendant, he said that they sometimes remove beards from bodies so I assumed it was Obinwa,” he explained.

THE MISSING CORPSE OF LATE ABDULLAHI OBINWA

It is a tradition of Igbo people outside Igbo land to take their corpses home.

However, problem always arises if the deceased had changed his faith or had been converted to another faith during his life-time.

The thinking of members of the host community was that if the corpse was taken to Igbo land, the deceased would certainly not be buried according to the faith he had professed during his life time.

That was the case of the said Abdullahi Obinwa, who hailed from Onitsha in Anambra State.

Checks conducted by Sunday Sun showed that the deceased came to Kano years ago through the invitation of a sister who was also not a Christian.

He was the Secretary to the council of the former Eze Ndigbo, Igwe O. T. Nnadi and played a role in the Igbo traditional association in the state in those days. He was a professed Muslim who had lived in Shagari Quarters in the 90s.

A source from the late Obinwa’s community in the state told Sunday Sun that towards the later part of his life, he moved out of Kundila Estate to a predominantly Christian residential quarters on Ijebu Road in Sabon Garri Area. It was gathered that he was sick for some years and eventually gave up recently.

When he died, the source said, his corpse was taken to the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano, from where he was quietly conveyed to his hometown a few days before the court order from the Sharia Court reached the hospital.

Senator Who Gave Birth To 27 Children Reveals His Father Had 40 Children At 86 by Folake(f) : 2:47 am On Feb 11

Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Alhassan Ado-Doguwa

Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Alhassan Ado-Doguwa

The Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Alhassan Ado-Doguwa, has reacted after people condemned him for showing off his four wives and 27 children on the floor of the chamber, warning that it was against his private life.

According to Punch, Ado-Doguwa, who said he was allowed as an adherent of Islam to marry that number of wives, nothing that it was a common thing in the northern part of the country dominated by Muslim Hausa and Fulani.

Ado-Doguwa said his father, who died in 2019 at 86, was survived by over 40 children, one of whom was a four-year-old.

Ado-Doguwa, who was in the National Assembly between 1992 and 1993 in the botched Third Republic, has been a member of the House since 1999, representing Tudun-Wada/Doguwa Federal Constituency of Kano State.

On January 29, 2020, Ado-Doguwa was among the six new members who were sworn in after winning reruns declared by courts.

The ceremony had become dramatic when Ado-Doguwa had spent about one hour to thank the leadership and members of the House, the All Progressives Congress and his four wives and 27 children, some of whom were in the chamber.

The announcement by the lawmaker had generated cheers and applause from the audience.

The Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, who interjected the lawmaker, had said he wanted to be sure if the Majority Leader actually said “27 children and still counting.” The comment also generated laughter in the chamber.

Ado-Doguwa later “apologised” to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State for having four wives when the governor only had one.

Speaking with the leadership of the House Press Corps, Ado-Doguwa said, “My father left behind over 40 kids. He died only last year. Amongst the children he left, one of them is less than four years old. An 86-year-old man left a child of less than four years old for me and I’m catering for him by the grace of God.

“As far as I’m concerned, as a Muslim, it is not I who caters for them, God caters for everyone, He only uses human beings as agents. And I’m glad that God is using me as His agent to feed my entire family, to train them and take them to good schools which I’m doing. And catering for my family does not in any way deprive me of the privilege to also cater for the downtrodden in the society, and that is the secret of my coming to the House day-in-day-out.”

He also said “If anybody from the South looks at me somehow, because that (having more wives and children) is not part of their tradition, I’d understand. But I’d be more disappointed if a Fulani, Hausa or a Kanuri girl will look at what I did with any sense of disdain. And if not that I’m also a member of the fourth estate of the realm by extension, the first thing I would do was to take it up with Daily Trust for allowing a lady, a columnist, to come and attack my personality, make reference to my name openly. Not because I’m Leader of the House but as a person, I’m entitled to the privacy of my family life. As a person, that’s embarrassing. This is my position. And I want to warn everyone. Everyone!

“My wives are respected women, they are proud of me and I’m proud of them in their collective entity. And if there is any trouble, do you think I could force them to come to the floor of the House? And one thing you don’t know: right from 1992 when I got married and successfully got the remaining three, all of these women have been my wives; I’ve never divorced anyone of them.

“If you like, I can give you records of so many VIPs who divorced their wives. I married from my locality, from respected families among my people in my constituency. I know their families and they know mine before we came together as man and wives.”

The lawmaker described his wives as legitimate, indigenous and not ‘imported’.

He said, “I’m not only disappointed, I’m disenchanted by the kind of reactions I received especially on social media on the day of my swearing-in, simply because I brought my four wives with me on the floor of the House and I told the House that these people, these women are here to respect the institution of the House.

“These are my legitimate wives; everybody knows them, starting from Abuja down to my village. And I’m a Muslim; not only a Muslim, I’m a proud Muslim, practising Islam. And the most fundamental pillars of every faithful person in Islam is what they said Prophet Muhammad should be your watchword, the Prophet should be your role model. Every proud Muslim places Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as his role model in actions and in thoughts. So, as a proud Muslim, marrying four wives is in all ramifications, copying the practice of Muhammad (PBUH).

“I’m allowed by my religion to marry four wives. I’m allowed by my religion to marry and generate, to produce and reproduce. So, if there is anything that can now be subject of ridicule, subject of reactions, write-ups in pages of papers and, unfortunately, sometimes by Muslims, no one of my wives was embarrassed, no one of my kids was embarrassed.”

He further said, “As a good Muslim that I am, I tell you that I’m proud of my family; I’m proud of marrying four wives; I’m proud these four wives are not even imported. We have a lot of people here who call themselves VIPs and who went out to import wives. My wives are indigenous wives; not only are they indigenous, they are my village people, all four of them are from Doguwa Local Government Area. So, I cannot be a subject of embarrassment unnecessarily.

“So, I want you guys (journalists) to take this out as widely as possible. This is my reaction. And I’ll not take it lightly. And if I have the opportunity, God willing, I’ll continue to count my kids.”

File Photo

One 32-year-old housewife, Mrs. Chinwendu Chita, has been remanded by an Ejigbo Magistrate Court for turning her husband, Okechukwu Chita, into a punching bag at their residence at Alhaji Agbeke Street, Ago-Okota, Isolo over his inability to impregnate her.

Chinwendu claimed that she has been married to her husband for some years, but he has been unable to impregnate her and has not shown any commitment for them to have a child.

It was gathered that Chinwendu had constantly been assaulting her husband since 2018 to the extent that Okechukwu was said to be afraid to return to their matrimonial home.

It was gathered that Okechukwu, who hails from Anambra State, got married to Chinwendu from Abia State for some years but the couple had no child to show for the marriage despite the fact that Okechukwu was said to be a successful business man.

The wife was said to have been saddened by the situation which made her to turn violent against Okechukwu.

On Monday last week, Chinwendu was said to have grabbed Okechukwu, beat him mercilessly, but he managed to run to the Police Station and reported the assault.

She was reportedly assaulted the female police officer who was sent to invite her to the station as well.

‘Delete Facebook, It’s lame’ – Tesla founder, Elon Musk says by Folake(f) : 7:32 am On Feb 11

Technology entrepreneur, Elon Musk, has taken another swipe at Facebook, calling it ‘lame.’

Reacting to a Twitter post by actor Sacha Baron Cohen calling for Facebook to be regulated by the government over its content, the Tesla founder tweeted “#DeleteFacebook It’s lame.”

In the post, Baron Cohen, who’s a vocal critic of social media platforms, including Twitter and Google video platform YouTube, wrote: ‘We don’t let 1 person control the water for 2.5 billion people. We don’t let 1 person control electricity for 2.5 billion people. Why do we let 1 man control the information seen by 2.5 billion people? Facebook needs to be regulated by governments, not ruled by an emperor!,‘ said the actor and comedian.

As for Musk, this is not the first time he has publicly criticized Facebook or Mark Zuckerberg.

In 2018, he deleted the official Facebook pages of his companies, Tesla (TSLA) and SpaceX, after it was disclosed that political consulting firm Cambridge Analytica had accessed personal informations of over 87 million Facebook users without their knowledge.

“What’s Facebook?” Musk tweeted at the time.

Mum raped by son’s best friend after she invited him in for tea and a chat by Folake(f) : 10:47 am On Feb 11

A mum-of-two has told how her life was destroyed after she was raped by her son’s former best friend.

Carlyn Thompson has waived her right to anonymity to narrate how she was raped by Gregory Houslin.

The mom-of-two has known Gregory Houslin since he was 14. But in 2005, Houslin, then 23, visited Carlyn and raped her after she made him a cup of tea. Houslin, now 38, was jailed for five-and-a-half years for rape.

Carlyn, who is keeping details of her location secret because she still fears Houslin, is now speaking out to let other victims know there is hope.

The 58-year-old retired teacher said: “He nearly ruined my life but I’m now trying to move forward and let other women know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.”

They met in 1996 when Carlyn’s sons Matthew and Dom brought Houslin home after school, reports the Daily Record.

She said: “He was polite and seemed like a typical teenage boy. After that, whenever I came home from work, Gregory was always upstairs with my sons, listening to music and playing games.”

Years passed, and in 2002, Carlyn’s sons moved out after finishing school. Houslin remained friendly with Carlyn, visiting her twice a year.

On the day of the attack, Carlyn let him in for a cup of tea and they chatted about work and family.

She said: “I realised it was late and I told Gregory I should get some sleep.

“I opened the front door, expecting him to leave, but he told me he wasn’t going anywhere.”

She tried to phone Matthew, who lived across the street, but got no answer. She tried to get Houslin out for 20 minutes but he refused. Then he gripped her by the arms and pulled her on to a sofa.

Carlyn said: “I was still holding my phone so I dialled 999 but I dropped it before I could find the call button. Then Gregory ripped my trousers and underwear off.

“I screamed, ‘I’m being raped. Help me!’ But no one came. Gregory put his hand over my mouth. Then he raped me.”

Afterwards, Carlyn grabbed her phone and escaped to the bathroom, where she called police.

Houslin then appeared behind her. She said: “Moments later, I heard sirens outside, so I pushed past him and sprinted out the front door.

“My sons were distraught and couldn’t believe what he had done.”

In September 2005, Houslin, of Watford, was found guilty of rape at St Albans Crown Court. He was released four years later and Carlyn was shocked when she bumped into him in a cafe.
