Saudi Hajj ministry has imposed 106 U.S. dollars fee on each domestic pilgrim to be paid by organizations and companies offering services for them.

The fee will be in the form of bank guarantee of 30 percent of the value of services provided by the ministry. The fees should be paid before registering domestic pilgrims through the online portal for the upcoming pilgrimage season. The fees should be transferred to the ministry’s account through local banks that are registered with the Saudi Monetary Agency.

The ministry warned those organisations of hiking their prices, in order to make the pilgrims to pay for the new fee, while ordering them to allocate all administration, reception and data processing jobs to Saudis.

Neymar said the midfielder would be a great addition to the Catalan club.

28-year-old Paulinho is currently playing for Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande.

The Acting President Yemi Osinbajo is back in Nigeria, after a visit to President Muhammad Buhari on Tuesday night.

According to Laolu Akande, Osinbajo’s media aide, the acting president will preside over federal executive council (FEC) meeting at Abuja by 11 am on Wednesday.

“AgP Osinbajo now back in Abuja from London & will be presiding over FEC this morning starting @ 11am at the Council Chambers in Aso Rock,” Akande said.

Osinbajo left Nigeria after presiding over the quarterly presidential business forum at the presidential villa in Abuja on Tuesday.

The details of his meeting with the president remains unclear as at press time.

President Muhammadu Buhari has been out of the country on a medical vacation since May 7, 2017.

Aisha Buhari, his wife, has visited him on two occasions, while the president had spoken to Nigerians once, wishing Nigerians a successful celebration, after the Ramadan fast.

The president’s absence and lack of information on his health status has driven many controversies within the nation over the last 63 days.

Osinbajo, who got Buhari’s full permission to act as president, has been leading Africa’s most populous nation for over two months.

The Ward head of Yargaya village in Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area of Kano state, Alhaji Saje Sani and six others have been arrested by the Kano State Police Command over the alleged rape of a 13-year- old girl.

Other allegedly involved in the rape are Garba Usaini aka Sadauki – 68 years, Magaji Ahmed aka Begi, 50, Umar Yusif, 38,Yakubu Abdullahi aka Alhaji, 28, Habibu Isa, 30, Yahaya Ibrahim, 30, all of Dawakin Kudu LGA of Kano State.

The spokesperson for the command, DSP Magaji Majiya said the suspects committed the alleged offence on separate occasions which left the 13-year-old girl pregnant.

He disclosed this while parading the suspects before newsmen in Kano on Tuesday, July 11.

According to him, medical report shows the teenage girl is seven months pregnant.

Majiya also said the suspects would be charged to court on completion of investigation.

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara has faulted the approach employed in fighting the war against corruption.

Dogara, speaking to a delegation from the Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC) in Abuja, said with immense “emphasis” placed on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the country was only dealing with symptoms of corruption whereas “corruption is like a tree”.

“In Nigeria, we have been asking the question, are we earning or are we just running charity with it or just leave people to manage it,” the Speaker said.

“From the way we are fighting corruption, it is like emphasis is built on EFCC, but the problem with that approach that you are dealing with the symptoms of corruption.

“Once you continue to deal with the leaves and the fruits, and the root is still there, you cannot totally eliminate corruption.

“These are preventive agencies and we ought to invest more in agencies such as the Fiscal Responsibility Commission because we have to make it difficult for corruption itself to take place. Once we do that, we will be applying the remedy at the root of corruption.

“There is no limit to the kind of attention we can pay to agencies like this, because this is the right way to combat corruption itself to ensure that resources are efficiently allocated and that we have fiscal discipline”‎, he stated.
