In a recent interview John Legend revealed that he actually once tried breaking up with his woman, Chrissy Teigen – years before they got married.

The 38-year-old singer said he tried breaking up with Chrissy, but she refused. Their “breakup” lasted only for an hour and a half, according to him.

John Legend told The Guardian, “I was really stressed and busy. I was just like: ‘I’d just be happier single right now,’ and she was like: 'No'.”

Talking about his relationship with Chrissy, he says “She pushes me to be funnier, not because she’s trying to, I think it’s just being around her. And to be bolder.”

John and Chrissy got married in Italy back in 2013. The couple have been together for nearly ten years and have a daughter together.
