The Lagos State Head of Service, Mrs. Olabowale Ademola, has asked workers in the state civil service to advertise government with their actions and enhance service delivery in the state.

Ademola spoke in Ikeja on Thursday during the recognition and award ceremony organised by the Lagos State Office of Transformation, Creativity and Innovation (OTIS).

The ceremony was among a series of events marking the 2017 Service Charter Week of the agency.

Ademola, in her remarks, said OTIS had changed the face of governance in the state, and called on workers to be part of the change.

She said, “The service charter is giving Lagos State the right face of governance. It is what every public servant in ministries, departments and agencies should buy into. In the way we comport ourselves in the public, people should see us and say the civil service has truly changed.”

The Director-General of the OTIS, Toba Otusanya, said the service charter was an initiative of the agency to improve service delivery in the state.

He said, “Service charter is about focusing the energies of government agencies towards delivering effective services.

“We usually go out to see ministries’ level of compliance. We speak to members of the public and they tell us their experiences with regard to their interactions with the agencies of the government.”

The Director of Welfare in the Office of the HoS, Mr. Arole Adebola, said workers should make changes in their self-esteem, self-ideal, self-image and self-respect.
