It could be a requirement to obtain a passport but why does it have to be displayed on the biodata page? The people that Nigeria copied from do not even do that. It's oversabi and inferiority complex that's killing Nigeria.
In addition, I saw that a local government certificate of indigeneship is required for a passport. This suggests that a Nigerian birth certificate isn't sufficient to prove your citizenship. Or perhaps, a certificate of indigeneship is used to prove your nationality (Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo). etc. This deviates from global standards as a birth certificate is sufficient to prove your citizenship in most countries (like Ghana). The govt is more focused on packaging and overcompensating instead of actually delivering results. Ghana is better governed, more civilized, the standard of living is higher and the govt is more focused on delivering results.
In any case, as much as I like the little developments happening in Nigeria, I won't be returning to Nigeria until it reaches the standard of Ghana (but I'll still leave Canada though...I've applied for a Canadian travel document and my destination is a country in Africa)

Nigeria has the biggest entertainment industry on the continent. The only rival to Nigeria is South Africa.
Unlike Wizkid, Burna Boy and Davido are still very much relevant because they keep in touch with thier roots.
