The president-elect, Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerians to disregard rumours about his health, saying he is strong and ready for the task ahead.

"Forget Rumours About My Health, I’m Strong And Ready For The Task Ahead" – Tinubu

Tinubu stated this on Monday after he arrived Abuja from France where he had gone to rest and plan the transition programme ahead of his inauguration on May 29.

The former Lagos governor, who was alleged to have travelled out of the country due to his failing health, was welcomed by a crowd of supporters at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, the country’s capital.

The President-elect was in company with his wife, Senator Remi Tinubu, and his son, Seyi Tinubu, when he returned to Nigeria after spending one month abroad.

Speaking to the crowd who followed him home after he returned to the country, the President-elect asked Nigerians to ignore reports from rumour mills, adding that he is “very strong”.

He said: “I’m happy to be back. I have rested, I’m refreshed and I’m ready for the task ahead. Forget about what the rumour mill may have told you. I’m strong, very strong.

Asked about his plans for the country, Tinubu said he had been consulting and planning with a view to putting together a strong team so he could hit the ground running once he assumes office on May 29.

On May 29, Tinubu will be sworn in as Nigeria’s president to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari who would be completing his two-term of eight years.

KanyiDaily recalls that the Chief Whip of the Senate, Orji Uzor Kalu has assured Nigerians that the President-elect, Bola Tinubu was not on a sick bed in the hospital.
