Amazon KDP stands for Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing and its Amazon’s print on demand, self publishing platform.
It is the publishing section of Amazon where you can publish books.

Things to Note about Amazon KDP
As a beginner there are three major features you should note about Amazon KDP business model.

First of all, KDP isn’t just ebooks. Most people hear the name “Kindle” and think KDP is for only publishing ebooks on Amazon’s Kindle device. While you can use KDP to publish on the Kindle eReader, you can also publish paperback and hard cover books!

Secondly, KDP is Print on Demand. POD is a powerful strategy that allows you to create products with zero out of pocket expenses. That’s right! You can self publish a paperback book without paying anything up front. The way KDP works is - you create your interior manuscript and upload it to the KDP platform. You create your cover image and upload it to the KDP platform. You enter your title, description, keywords… choose the trim size and other features, and even select the price point.

Then Amazon put your book on their catalog for FREE! When a customer finds and buys your book, Amazon prints the book to order. They take their fee and send you a royalty. The fees never come out of your pocket.

Third, there is no buying or shipping inventory with KDP. Because KDP is print on demand, you don’t ever have to go to the store and find the product to ship in. You never have to place an “order” and send it to Amazon for fulfillment. Amazon prints the books to order and manages the inventory for you… and, remember, with zero out of pocket expenses.

The owners of Amazon, now moved ahead of that and created a Section of the E-commerce platform, known as Amazon KDP, where you can publish and sell books.

What you Simply do is create and UPLOAD a high-value digital book to Amazon and earn up to 70% commission for doing so, while they take 30% for doing the selling.

You may say that you are not good with writing long contents.

That is never a problem, because there are three kinds of books you can sell on Amazon.

The three class of books are
1. High content books
2. Low Content books
3. No Content books.

High content books are books with high volume of contents from 26 pages and above. They can be fictional or non fictional contents.

One uniqueness of Amazon lies in the fact that, even if you can't create enough content to get a conventional (high content book) you can create other class of books.
Either Low content or No content.
