The running mate to Governor Yahaya Bello in the November 16 governorship election, Chief Edward Onoja, is to be sworn-in on Monday, as the new deputy governor of Kogi State. Onoja, until recently served as the Chief of Staff (CoS) to the Governor. He later emerged as the running mate to Bello, who is seeking a second term in office, on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). It was gathered that the swearing-in which was initially being mooted for Saturday will hold on Monday when the Assembly screens and confirms Onoja as the new deputy governor. He is thereafter expected to proceed to the Lugard House where the oath of office will be administered to him by the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Nasir Ajanah. Achuba was impeached as deputy governor on Friday, following the judicial panel report submitted to the house of assembly. The judicial panel of enquiry set up by the CJ to investigate allegations of gross misconduct leveled against Achuba. The panel chaired by Barr. John Baiyeshea, submitted its report to the Assembly on Friday.
