President Mohammad Buhari has restated federal government’s commitment to tackle the challenges of insecurity in the country.

The president gave the assurance in Bauchi on Thursday while commissioning Air Force Special Operation Centre in the state.

He expressed that the establishment of the Air Force base was to contend with the emerging security threats in the North East and by extension Nigeria.

He regretted the incursion of insurgents and attributed their activities as the bane of economic setback as well as poverty and hunger in the troubled region.

Federal government, he vowed, will not watch innocent citizens being killed on daily basis.

Buhari urged the military not to relent in their genuine determination to safeguard the nation’s territory with a particular reference to terrorism.

The president commended the Bauchi state government for the necessary support given to the federal government in terms of mass land given for the establishment of the Air Force base.
