A group, the Niger Delta Renaissance Organisation, NDRO, has described the Senator representing Delta South in the National Assembly, Ovie Omo-Agege, as a disgrace to the people of the Niger Delta region.

In a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Comrade Nwokoma Messiah, the group said the conduct of the Senator on Wednesday is condemnable.

Thugs suspected to be loyal to the suspended Senator had invaded the red chambers and forcefully took away the mace.

The action has continued to elicit condemnations all over the country with the NDRO joining the fray.

The group’s statement said, “The Niger Delta Renaissance Organisation NDRO wish to condemn the resort to self-help which the Senator from Delta State attempted to do at the Senate by bringing in hoodlums to carte away the mace which is the symbol of the authority of the legislature.

“We are calling on the relevant security apparatus to investigate those behind this irresponsible act and bring them to justice though we doubt the commitment of this federal Government led by dictator Buhari to prosecute the secretary of the Parliamentary Support Group.”
