Nigerian artistes don’t have the best track record with albums and who can really blame them?

Due to the colossal rate of piracy in the country, the return is never really worth the stress of putting together an entire body of work.

Though, there have been a couple of artistes over the years who’ve looked beyond merely dropping excellent singles to dropping aplomb albums as well.

And for most of them, their debut albums catalyse their journey to the very top of their game.

Last year alone, we got Simisola, a stellar debut from everyone’s favourite new female vocalist; and Magic, BOJ’s delayed Debut album but appreciated gift to his fans.

Years before that, we were blessed with the likes of Superstar, which marked the beginning of Wizkid’s massive career; 2Face, which introduced the world to a voice to be reckoned with and Wande Coal’s Mushin 2 Mohits, which redefined pop music in Nigeria as we know it.
