A 50-year-old caretaker, identified as Sani, has landed in prison custody for allegedly raping his neighbour’s three years old daughter to death in Katsina State. The incident was said to have happened in Funtua local government area of the state when Sani allegedly lured the victim to a nearby uncompleted building, closed her mouth and raped her.

Sani and the victim’s parents are residing in the same house in Funtua. The Police First Information Report (FIR) on the incident revealed that Sani allegedly lured the victim to a nearby uncompleted building, closed her mouth and raped her.

The victim reportedly died while being raped. Police Prosecutor, Inspector Sani Ado told the court on Thursday that Sani’s offence was contrary to Section 283 and 221 of Penal code law. Ado however said investigation was still in progress on the case.

He pleaded with the court for a new date for the case to be mentioned. The Magistrate court presided over by Hajiya Fadila Dikko granted the prosecutor’s request and adjourned the case to 9th April, 2018 for mention and directed that Sani be remanded in prison custody till then.

The case of rape has been on a rise lately, last week, a 16 year old girl has died after she was allegedly raped and impregnated by her family doctorat the Federal Medical Center, Bida, Niger State.

According to TheNation, the girl identified as Fatima Yusuf was said to have lost her life after she gave birth to her baby. She was reported to have been impregnated by the doctor, Dr. Seyi, who treated her mother while she was admitted at the hospital.

The doctor was reported to have raped the lady repeatedly while her mother was on admission at the medical center for the treatment of diabetes.
