Former President Goodluck Jonathan has again preached peace to nations around the world, saying it is preferable to gain honour and lose power.

Igbere TV reports that his Facebook post on Friday came at the time sources in US President Donald Trump’s camp said he was not considering conceding defeat if he loses the election to Democrat Joe Biden.

“Nobody’s ambition is worth the blood of any citizen. It is better to gain honour at the cost of losing power than to gain power at the cost of losing honour,” Mr Jonathan wrote.

“At any point in time, the power of love should matter more than the love of power.

“This is my philosophy. I have lived it. It has brought great peace to both my beloved nation and I. And I recommend it to all leaders facing challenging situations, either in government, or at the polls, or even in their dealings with fellow political actors.”

Jonathan sought re-election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2015.

In a move considered first in the nation’s history, he conceded defeat to the incumbent Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Nigerian gay rights activist, Bisi Alimi and his husband acquired a second home in London as they mark their 4th wedding anniversary, IgbereTV reports.

Bisi shared photos of the interior of the house while reminiscing on how far he’s come.

Bisi said he has gone from that “homeless boy” to a “house owner in London twice”.

He thanked Nigeria’s Funmi Iyanda who invited him on her TV show, New Dawn, to talk about his sexuality years ago.

Donald Trump is still hopeful he will be declared the winner of the US presidential election despite Joe Biden’s projected victory in the election which made him president-elect of the United States.

Recall Trump claimed that there has been voter fraud in the election with no evidence, and has already lost 10 different lawsuits that they have filed since election day.

Taking to Twitter to share the latest update, the Republican politician who is yet to concede defeat, said he’s making big progress and results will start coming in next week.

Trump also affirmed in his tweet that he’ll win.

Lil Frosh’s girlfriend, Gift has called out Sina Rambo and his team for trying to silence her. 

It would be recalled that earlier in the year, Sina Rambo called out his sister’s baby father over domestic violence. The singer called him several derogatory names and vowed to make him pay for hurting his family. Sina Rambo also happened to be the one that interviewed Lil Frosh who again denied the domestic violence allegations leveled against him.

In reaction to this, Gift called him out for being a hypocrite. She added that the rapper reacted differently when his sister was being abused by her baby daddy and now he and his crew are trying to cover up what Lil Frosh did to her. She wrote: “Lol sad to think Sinarambo acted differently when his sister got beaten up by her boyfriend… Now he’s tryna take away my TRUTH together with his crew, just cause I’m not his sister…God is watching all of you!”

Oby Ezekwesili, former Minister of Education, says she rejected the offer to run as President Buhari’s running mate during the 2011 presidential election, IgbereTV reports.

Commercial motorcyclists known locally as Okada riders on Tuesday clashed with the Lagos State Task Force at Second Rainbow bus stop along Oshodi-Apapa Expressway.

It was gathered that the task force operatives seized some motorcycles, causing the angry motorcyclists to block the road with bonfires.

“We are angry that the government has not responded positively to the #EndSARS demands by the youths and now this. This is the only thing we survive with. Without our motorcycles, we will die,” one of the affected motorcyclists told Vanguard.

CNN's investigation of Lekki shooting has been hailed by musician, Davido.

Recall that CNN released its investigation of the incident today.

The investigation indicted the Nigerian army, saying soldiers used live bullets at Lekki toll gate protesters on 20th October, 2020.

Recall after the shooting, the protest lost it’s identity and it was hijacked by hoodlums who didn’t hesitate to “set the state on fire”.

In the video released by CNN, people in Army uniform were seen shooting directly at the protesters, and screams were heard from people in pain.

Some of the words heard are; “they’ve killed him, they’ve killed him”, another person shouted “they’re Killing my people”.

Reacting to this, Davido who was invited by the IGP in Abuja during the heat of the protest, expressed love for CNN.

An investigation by CNN has revealed that the Nigerian Army used live bullets on #EndSARS protesters at Lekki toll gate in Lagos on October 20, contrary to claims by the army that blank bullets were used.

The news organisation said it got verified video footage using timestamps and data from the video files which shows soldiers who appear to be shooting in the direction of protesters who were calling for an end to police brutality.

It said accounts from eyewitnesses establish that after the army withdrew, a second round of shooting happened later in the evening.

It said current and former Nigerian military sources confirmed that the bullet casings “match those used by the army”. One of which was purchased from Serbia with ‘2005’ inscription on it.

Two eyewitnesses told CNN they saw soldiers arriving the toll gate in a Toyota Hilux pickup truck with “OP Awatse” written on it – the name of a joint military task force that operates in Lagos.

The network said its video evidence shows the shooting by the army lasted from 6:43 p.m. until at least 8:24 p.m.

CNN identified a protester Victor Ibanga who reportedly died on the night of the shootings.

Some of those present told the network that dozens of people were killed and many injured. But Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu told CNN only two were killed.

Disc jockey DJ Switch who was present at the toll gate on the night of the shooting said they counted about 15 bodies.

According to the investigation, Elisha, Victor’s brother, received a call on October 21 that Victor had been shot dead and “that the police took his body away”.

CNN said many persons have been recorded missing since the shooting.

It also quoted one Peace Okon as saying she has not seen her 18-year-old brother Wisdom Okon who went to the protest ground on the night of the shooting.

“I’ve gone to hospitals; I’ve gone to police stations, I’ve gone to everywhere. I can’t find him,” she said.

A Lagos State Government spokesman declined to comment, saying the matter is already before a panel of inquiry.

Julia Nuno

Julia Nuno, a 32-year-old tattoo-obsessed woman has covered her body with tattoos.

According to Daily Star UK, the woman has spent nearly £20,000 on various designs to ensure almost every part of her body is covered in ink.

Julia Nuno got her first piece of permanent body art when she was 18.

And in the last three years, she's dedicated a total of 234 hours getting a full body suit.

The residential carer, from California, has splurged £19,530 so far, covering every inch of her skin from the soles of her feet to the top of her head.

Despite concerns from her family, Julia even had her genital area tattooed earlier this month in Texas.

She also plans to get her face - the last remaining untouched space - covered in geometric flowers in the future.

Julia said: "It’s taken me quite a while, I started getting tattooed as soon as I was old enough.

"Collecting them came a bit for me, it’s only over the last few years that I have been going constantly.

"I started out small with a hibiscus flower on my chest but it just ended up growing...

"I had no intention of collecting or getting a suit but somewhere down the line I just decided to go all the way. Now I can’t stop."

For the last three years, Julia has spent three hours in tattoo parlours every fortnight, adding to her collection.

But the ink lover admits it’s the sessions and process of getting the work done that keeps her going back, adding she usually lets the artist choose the design.

"For a long time I told myself and other people that I would never shave my head to get it tattooed, I said 'that’s crazy'," she said.

"But when I ran out of space on my body it was the next obvious part.

"I feel like the more tattooed I am the more irritating it feels to see empty space.

"When I’m finished I’m going to go over my existing suit restoring the colours and existing lines.

"The sessions are really special to me, the art is nice but it’s the actual tattooing sessions that I’m really addicted to. A lot of times I let the man who tattoos me pick the art.

"I have ideas about what I want to get but usually it’s what he chooses."

Despite concerns from her family that she might be going too far, Julia feels she must keep going and plans to get her face covered later this year.

The singleton added that while some people have been put off by her tattoos others have been entranced by them and often strangers will come up to her in the street to touch her skin.

She said: "The people I work with are very accepting and look past it but I think some of my family have problems with how many tattoos I have.

Katie Price said she has been forced to padlock the family fridge and hide food to stop her son Harvey from eating in the middle of the night.

The 42-year-old former glamour model has revealed that her eldest child lashes out and leaves holes in the wall if she denies him food.

Harvey, 18, suffers from an excessive appetite caused by his genetic condition Prader-Willi syndrome, which can impact muscle tone and functions of the nervous system and sparks the constant desire to eat.

Doctors have warned that Harvey, who weights almost 29 stone, is at serious risk of a heart attack if he does not lose weight urgently.

Despite doing her best to limit her son’s food intake, Katie explained that Harvey turns violent when he doesn’t get food.

She told The Sun: “It’s a cruel and horrible illness where he feels hungry all the time — and if he doesn’t get food he gets angry. It’s hard work.

“He’ll smash things up if you say no. I’ve had to re-plaster my walls because he’ll bash holes in them with his head.

“He knows what nice things taste of. I’ll give him sweet potato chips instead of real fries but he knows the difference.”

Mother of five Katie added: “He’ll need to lose weight or he’ll end up dead. I don’t want to lose him.

“You can’t leave food or leftovers on the side or he’ll eat it, and he’s really quick too.

“He even eats in his sleep. He’ll walk downstairs and eat whatever he can find. We’ve even found him rummaging through friends’ bags for food.”

A woman allegedly killed her mother and chopped the body into pieces in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom, IgbereTV reports.

According to an eyewitness, Abasi-Ifreke Ime Eshiet who posted the photos from the crime scene, the shocking incident happened at Urua Anan Road, Ikot Ekpene.

Some of the photos shows the suspect carrying the body pieces in a bowl before she was tied up and bundled into a police van.
