LYRICS

Remember me
Tin ba ti lo
Rii!
Riidimakulayan

Of the mountains I have climbed
Traveled between space and time
Tell them my story my struggles and my glory (and my glory)
Don’t leave anything behind
(Remember me)
Tell them of the songs I sang
That i was not a lonely man
Tell them that I lived my life with kindness in my eyes
And love inside my heart
And i hope they will

Remember me (ahh eh)
Tin ba ti lo (Ba ti lo)
Remember me
Ti n ba le soro mo
T’oba ti tan
Ti n ba ti lo
Remember m?

(Remember me)
Remember
Remember me
Remember me

One day when it is your time
You will leave this world behind
All the things you said and did
Will be your legacy
Ooh ohh

For you see, life is like a song
It doesn’t just go on and on
There is an end to everything
So as you dance and as you sing
Make the most of the melodies
And i hope they will

Remember you
To ba ti lo
Remember you
T’oo ba le soro mo
T’oba ti tan
To ba ti lo
Remember you
(Remember you)

Remember me
Remember me
Remember me
(Remember me)

Remember me

Erica in her response, said Lucy is the most annoying and difficult housemate to work with. She said Lucy always believes she is right and would never take any other person’s suggestion over hers.

Big Brother Naija Lockdown housemate, Kiddwaya has warned his love interest in the house, Erica, that loving him comes with its own risks.

According to Kiddwaya, he is a busy person and after the reality TV show, he might not have time for her.

Kiddwaya speaking to Erica early Friday morning, August 28 as they cuddled in bed said

“I just think loving a guy like me is a bit so risky.”

When Erica asked him to explain, Kiddwaya further added, “I’m all over the place.”

Erica then told Kidd that she would be busy too but that her love is based on trust.

“I’ll be busy too. I have my own life. You have yours. I can only love you if I trust you,” Erica said.

When Kidd asked her if she trusted him, Erica simply said “No.”

“Then you don’t love me. I want you to do what you want,” Kidd responded

Wrestler and albino rights campaigner mourned in DR Congo by sweethoney12(f) : 7:08 am On Sep 02

People in the Democratic Republic of Congo have been paying tribute to a champion wrestler who was also a leading advocate for the rights of people with albinism.

Alphonse Mwimba Makiese, whose wrestling name was Texas Mwimba, died at the weekend after a long illness at the age of 53, his son, Claudy, told the BBC.

Albinism is a rare, hereditary condition that leads to a lack of pigmentation in the hair, skin and eyes. Without melanin in their skin, those with albinism are more vulnerable to the damaging effects of the sun.

There are also a lot of superstitions associated with the condition and in some countries people with albinism are killed for their body parts.

In 2016, Texas Mwimba told the BBC that where he was from fishermen thought that his hair would bring them good luck if added to their nets. He refused the offer of money in exchange for his hair.

He said he spent his life fighting prejudice and “silly beliefs and superstitions”.

He became a wrestler because he was bullied at school over his condition.

Initially he was told that he was too fragile to become a wrestler, but he ignored their complaints.

He went on to set up the Texas Mwimba Foundation to fight for the rights of people with albinism.

One Twitter user described Texas Mwimba as the “pride” of the country:

Security: Enugu Leaders Of Thought Pass Vote Of Confidence In Ugwuanyi (Photos) by sweethoney12(f) : 7:00 am On Sep 04

…As gov signs State Forest Guard Act into Law

IgbereTV reports that Leaders of Thought in Enugu State, comprising traditional rulers, religious and opinion leaders, among others, on Thursday, rose from a closed-door meeting with Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, and passed a vote of confidence in the governor for the way he has been discharging his responsibilities in the state as the Chief Security Officer.

Addressing newsmen after the meeting, the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo, said that they took brief from Gov. Ugwuanyi on the recent security developments in the state as well as the actions taken by his administration to arrest the situation and ensure that the state remains safe and peaceful.

Chief Nwodo who disclosed that all those present at the meeting have reaffirmed their conviction to continue to support Gov. Ugwuanyi’s good works in ensuring that the state remains one of the safest in the country, added that the governor informed them that “he has given a directive to all the Local Government Chairmen to rejig our security architecture in consultation with the traditional rulers and Presidents-General of town unions”.

The President-General further disclosed that Gov. Ugwuanyi, who at the meeting, signed the Enugu State Forest Guard Act, 2020, enacted by the State House of Assembly, into Law and directed the council chairmen to ensure the effective operations of the law, also “briefed us about herdsmen activities in some of the local government areas and actions taken in consultations with the security agencies to show them the way out of those areas that these have occurred”

Chief Nwodo revealed that the governor told them how the State Security Council deliberated in details, the recent civil disturbances in the state, and reassured them that “the state government will do everything in its powers to see that whoever was found to have not acted in conformity with the law will be adequately dealt with”.

Justifying the vote of confidence, the President-General of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, said: “In the last few days, an economic review of the state has shown that out of the six most viable states in Nigeria, Enugu State is one of them. The viability of each state was recorded on the basis of their capacity to generate enough internally generated revenue to sustain their recurrent expenditure without dependence on federal allocations.

“If Enugu State government can attract businessmen to come to the state and pay taxes, then Enugu must be investment friendly. To be investment friendly, Enugu must be safe. And this credit goes to our state governor and his team.

“And we felt we should move a vote of confidence and tell him that we are proud of the way he is discharging his responsibilities. And we urged him to continue to be doing what he has been doing.

“On our part, every community leader, every traditional ruler, every President-General of town unions, all schools represented by their heads here have re-enforced; all the bishops, clergymen have re-enforced their conviction that they must continue to support this good work to ensure that our state remains one of the safest states in Nigeria”.

The Billionaire rapper, 43, whose political party is called The Birthday Party, has only made the ballot in 10 states, including Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota, according to CNN.

West’s campaign finance report, filed to the Federal Election Commission on Friday, reported bringing in a total of $6.8 million between July 15 and Aug. 31.

The campaign raised $11,472 in contributions from eight donors that gave between $200 and $1,000 and smaller donors who gave under $200 during that time, the report shows.

The report also shows that the campaign spent a total of $5.9 million during that time period. $2.7 million was paid to Millennial Strategies, based in Long Island, N.Y., and Atlas Strategy Group for “ballot access services, polling, campaign management consulting, legal services, and election law research, according to the filing. ”

“I paid her dowry hence I own her – Controversial Kenyan Twitter personality says women shouldn’t be given freedom after marriage by sweethoney12(f) : 7:41 am On Sep 16

Captain Kale, an outspoken and popular Twitter personality, who is a household name in Kenya on Friday Septembrer 11, said that married women shouldn’t be given freedom after marriage as according to him, if you pay her dowry, she becomes your property.

Kale stated this while reacting to a topic in which radio host, Maina Kagena asked women about the definition of freedom in marriage.

“Ladies, when you tell your husband you want freedom in your marriage/relationship, what do you mean” the topic reads.

Many gave their views on what defines freedom in marriage. One woman said: “It’s freedom to be myself as long as I handle my duties as a wife and mother. Freedom to go out with my girlfriends, wear what I want and because he trusts me, I respect him”

Hillary said: “Marriage is actually a transmission from being alone to being with someone so any decision involves two parties you can’t just decide yourself to do your own. Freedom is allowed but it’s limited if you are a type of woman who wants it in plenty just be single you will have it limitless.period,”

“Dinah Kinyae: When I leave the house, he shouldn’t ask me where I’m going and when I come back, he shouldn’t ask me where I’m coming from. I’m a grown-up and know my limits dammit”

Douglas Adaka: “Ladies who demand freedom after dowry is paid are saboteurs and they should know that they are legally owned. Only those who dowry hasn’t been paid should demand freedom,”

Mike Nyingi: “You can’t be married and want to behave like you are single…. Once in a marriage, it’s no longer me or I… it’s us or we”

In his own reaction, Captain Kale  alluded giving freedom to women to handing a fully loaded gun to your enemy.

“When I married her, I paid for her, hence me owning her. She should do as I say. Even her going to say hi to her parents needs me to think about it,” he tweeted.

“Women are irresponsible human beings and they need to be guided everytime. They can’t function without someone being hard on them,”

“Giving women fredom is like giving a gun full of bullets to your enemy” Kale added.

Writing further, he said that a woman should not even visit her own parents without informing her husband 5 months in advance.

Interview: Omah Lay Speaking On The “Get Layd” EP & Songs “Bad Influence” by sweethoney12(f) : 7:14 am On Sep 19

Omah Lay Songs

Omah Lay crept his way into the hearts of millions like a thief in the night and now he’s like drug fans would like to overdose on.

In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, Stanley Omah Didia who seemed like a regular young singer with nothing for his passion and talent for music ignited a fire with his hit single “You”.

Born to a family with deep musical roots in Port Harcourt, Omah Lay is certainly music royalty. His grandfather was a renowned percussionist for the legendary Highlife singer Celestine Ukwu until his death in 1976. His father followed suit by becoming a drummer himself.

The young Port Harcourt lad has followed the footsteps of his father and grandfather by marking the family name down in the history of the Nigerian music industry. His musical journey started during his teenage years as a member of the rap group, Lil King. Noticing how adept he is at producing, he switched roles and became the most sought after producer in the city.

But that didn’t last for long as he picked up the mic again when he realized he could use his great singing skills to take his career to greater heights. In 2019, he released two singles “Hello Brother” and “Do Not Disturb” both of which boosted his already growing fanbase in Port Harcourt.

Following the positive reception of the singles “You” and “Bad Influence,” which were released earlier in the year 2020, Omah Lay dropped the “Get Layd EP” on the 22nd of May, 2020 adding three new songs. This EP is still the number one (No.1) EP in the country at the moment with all 5 songs from the EP featuring on Top Nigerian music charts. The singer recently debuted as the cover star of Apple Music’s ‘Africa Rising’ Playlist which is geared towards identifying, showcasing, and elevating rising African talent.

Despite the fact that he is one of the raving artistes at the moment, very little is known about the musical genius who has been described as a lethal combination of “Burna Boy’s lyricism and the sweet melodies of Wizkid”. To feed music fans and our viewers with exclusive info about the fast-rising Star Tooxclusive had a chat with Omah Lay about his sound, records, future plans, and more.

Omah Lay

In an interview with the New Wave King of Afrobeat Omah Lay shared the following with us;

How did you come up with the name “Omah Lay”?

I just merged my middle name with a local expression where I’m from. ‘Lay’ is usually used when calling out to someone far away; it’s a way of stressing to call. So ‘Omah Lay’ is like a stressed call out to Omah.

How would you describe your sound.’

Afro-fusion, basically. I like to blend elements from different genres into what I do, which also has highlife influences. So, Afro-fusion.

What’s the biggest challenge you’ve had to overcome so far?’

My biggest challenge so far has been trusting my sound. Not knowing how people would react to my music scared me, so I didn’t know whether to ‘adapt’ or trust myself. The reception has been great so far, so the new challenge is growing from here.

Who are the artistes that inspire/influence you?

Drake, Wande Coal, Burna Boy… there’s a whole lot of them.

What do you enjoy most about being an artiste? What do you hate most?’

The creative process is what I enjoy most. Bringing an idea to life and seeing people enjoy it. I haven’t seen anything I hate yet. I’m just trying to soak it all in.

What’s your favorite thing to do when you aren’t writing/producing/playing etc?

Watching movies, playing FIFA or sleeping lol

How do you make music? Voice on a ready-made beat or write first and then contact the producer you want?

I make the music however it comes. I could hear a beat first, then write. Or write, then produce or hit up a producer. It happens either way.

What inspired the “Get Layd “ EP, & your Mega hit song ‘Bad Influence’ ?

For Get Layd, I just wanted to display my range cuz I don’t want my sound or personality to be boxed in. That’s why I titled the EP ‘Get Layd’, which basically means getting a piece of me.

Bad Influence was really about me getting used to a bigger city and new vices. I originally did it for just Instagram cuz I’d been away for a while, then I put out the full version for free, then on digital stores cuz of the demand. Things just took off from there and it’s been a blessing to experience.

Apart from dropping a music video for, “Lo Lo”, what should fans expect in the coming months

For now it’s still all about Get Layd, but I’m still recording all the time. Maybe another EP before the end of the year…? Still haven’t decided.

Do you feel pressured by the fact that you are being constantly compared with the established youngsters in the industry (Rema and the likes)?

I don’t feel pressured by it. People will always compare but I don’t pay attention to it. In the end, the music sets you apart so that’s what I focus on.

Do you sometimes think about how you would be able to maintain longevity in the industry considering your stunning arrival in the industry?

We can only work hard and pray to be here for a long time. So far, things have happened quickly and my team has been amazing. Hopefully, we keep the same energy and people keep loving the music.

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?’

I don’t think I’ve experienced enough yet to want to change anything. It’s a chance to live off my passion and I’m just trying to enjoy things as I go.

What would you be doing right now, if it wasn’t for your music career?

I’d be a pastor. No other options?

What message would you give to your fans?

My message to the fans is a big thank you for loving and supporting the music. No way all this would be possible without you. Love y’all so much!

BREAKING: APC Rejects Edo Governorship Election Results by sweethoney12(f) : 7:02 am On Sep 21

The All Progressives Party (APC) in Edo State has rejected the outcome of Saturday’s Edo Governorship, in which incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki was declared winner.

Igbere TV had on Sunday reported how Obaseki, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, secured 307,955 votes to defeat Osagie Ize-Iyamu, the APC candidate, who got 223, 619 votes.

In a statement forwarded to Igbere TV, Sunday, the APC alleged foul play in election, but called on party members to stay calm “while party leaders study the result and decide what is next.”

In the statement signed by the Chairman of the APC Media Campaign Council, Mr. John Mayaki, rejecting the result, the APC cited alleged strong arm tactics.

“Our people were arbitrarily arrested, many of the figures were fabricated,” said the terse statement, which the party said was only a preliminary reaction.

It further alleged illicit tampering with results, to shore up PDP numbers and mark down APC’s.

“Areas where we won, they cancelled them.  They decreased the votes in areas we had advantage,” the party further claimed. “They rejected our results and jerked up theirs.”

Meanwhile, the party also claimed there was arbitrary arrest of local party members, who could have resisted the outrage, while Governor Godwin Obaseki was busy diverting attention with false alarm.

“Obaseki shouted that he was being rigged out and blamed INEC at the initial stage but that was to divert attention from the evil going on in the field”, the statement said.

The party, however, told its members to stay calm, thanking them for their support, and adding that party leaders were studying the result and would announce their decision and course of action as soon as possible.
