A car rammed into crowd at the Calabar bikers parade resulting to multiple casualties. HGS Media Plus reports.

The incident happened on Tuesday, December 27 at the Bogobiri axis of the carnival route.

The flag-off of the bikers and exotic cars parade is usually held as part of the event leading to a Wednesday carnival in Calabar.

It was gathered that the driver of the vehicle was parading in the event when he suddenly lost control and rammed into crowd.

An eyewitness from the scene claimed more that 10 persons have died

Graphic videos obtained by HGS show bodies from the incident scene lying on the road with blood flowing.

However, the number of casualties is currently unknown but many are feared dead.

An unconfirmed number of persons also reportededly sustained various degrees of injuries.

The affected persons were rushed to Navy Reference hospital, Calabar.

Law enforcement agencies had to use tear gas to disperse the angry crowd.

One Sunday Ogodi, a father of eight children, and his accomplice, Jude Andrew have been arrested for stealing motorcycles in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.

The suspects were arrested by the Ika North East Chapter of Anti-Cult Volunteer Corps early this week.

Ogodi, a native of Abraka, said that he ventured into the business of buying and selling stolen motorcycles about two months ago after his farm business collapsed.

He revealed that his plan to go into the illicit business became a reality after his encounter with Jude Andrew, a native of Ekuku-Agbor.

While he serves as the sales man, Jude Andrew made sure that the motorcycles are ready for Ogodi to pack to Abaka. for sales

Ogodi and Jude, according to reports from residents of the area in Boji-Boji, Owa, have sold more than thirty motorcycles in recent time.

Nemesis caught up with Ogodi early this week as he was arrested at Ekuku-Agbor on his way to Abraka by members of Ika North East Anti-Cult Volunteer Corps following a tip off by residents.

Ogodi later confessed that he got involved in illicit motorcycle business so as to make ends meet. He begged for mercy, declaring that he will not go back to crime again.

On the part of Jude Andrew, he said that he is a friend to Ogodi, but he is not a motorcycle thief. He claimed that he was only directed by someone at old Abraka Road in Boji-Boji, Owa, to be selling motorcycles to Ogodi.

On how he got the motorcycles, Jude said they were given to him by someone whose name he refused to disclose, at the time of interrogation.

After a thorough search, a new motorcycle was found at Jude's bedroom. The motorcycle was covered with foam and bed sheet.

Both Sunday Ogodi and Jude Andrew were later handed over to men of the Nigerian Police in Ika North East.

Meanwhile, the Anti-Cult leader in the local government, Mr Moses Efamehule has warned criminals to stay off, assuring that his team is fully prepared to fight against any criminal act, particularly in this yuletide season.

Joseph Marley, also known as Jo Mersa, the grandson of music legend, Bob Marley has died

The musician died at the age of 31. Accordingto report from TIDAL, the singer was found unresponsive in a vehicle in the United States of America on Tuesday, December 27.


Joseph, is said to have suffered from asthma his entire life, and he died of an asthma attack, South Florida radio station, WZPP reported.

The Jamaican-American reggae artist, debuted in 2014 releasing an EP called "Comfortable" through iTunes and Spotify.

He also appeared on the Grammy-winning album Strictly Roots by Morgan Heritage.

TIDAL took to Twitter to honor the late artist.

TIDAL wrote; "Forever in our hearts. RIP Jo Mersa Marley."

The official autopsy results for Joseph's death have not yet been revealed.

Gov. Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State on Saturday said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar would reopen the nation’s borders if elected at the 2023 general elections.

Tambuwal, the Director General of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council made the assertion at the PDP campaign rally in Illela Local Government Area of the state.

According to him, the PDP presidential candidate has better plans for the country.

“These include reopening of the nation’s borders, addressing challenges of insecurity and the provision of basic necessities of life for Nigerians,” he said.


The governor added that his administration in the state had a lot of sympathy for the people of Illela being among the worst hit areas by banditry attacks.

“However, in spite of challenges of insecurity, economic recess and the negative impact of COVID-19, we have executed several projects under healthcare, education, water supply and social interventions, among others,” he said.

In his remarks, Alhaji Yusuf Sulaiman, the DG, of Sokoto Campaign Management Council, asked the people of the area to elect continuity in governance by casting their votes for PDP.

Malam Sa’idu Umar, the PDP governorship candidate pledged that the International market project at Illela would receive the attention it deserved from his administration if elected.

Also at Kware LGA, Umar said he owed special attention to the people of the state in general.


He promised to sustain the legacies of Tambuwal and initiate more developmental project if elected.

On his part, Alhaji Mannir Dan’iya, the Sokoto North Senatorial candidate of PDP and incumbent Deputy Governor attested to the current administration’s successes in the state.

He urged the people of the state to reciprocate the gesture by voting for PDP, adding that many developmental projects were planned for Kware LGA in the 2023 budget.

A police officer has killed his 5-year-old niece on New Year's eve, December 31 in Owerri, Imo state. HGS Media Plus just learnt.

According to Dotun's report, the policeman fired a shot in celebration of the new year but unfortunately, the bullet landed on his 5-year-old niece.

"Trigger happy policemen. Why must you shoot in the air to celebrate? It’s despicable. A likely drunken uncle shot his niece (5 year old) on the 31st night while trying to shoot in the air. They just came back, went to celebrate new year at their dads. They lost him a year ago"
