Amidst growing concerns on the health status of President Muhammadu Buhari, a former Special Adviser to late President Umaru Yar’Adua, Segun Adeniyi, said the drama surrounding Buhari’s health might have just begun.

Adeniyi, who served as the spokesman for Yar’Adua when the ex-President was sick and was incommunicado for several weeks, said this in a message on his official Twitter handle.

Adeniyi’s tweet comes on the eve of the seventh anniversary of Yar’Adua’s death.

He said, “Going by feelers from Aso Rock, the real drama of the health challenge of President Buhari may have just started.”

The House of Representatives on Thursday, May 4, approved the second reading of a bill seeking to impose N100,000 fine on anyone who abuses the country’s national flag.

According to the sponsor of the bill, Hon. Sam Onuigbo, representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North/South in Abia state, there has been high rate of abuse with the national flag, The Guardian reports.

Discussing the general principles of the bill at plenary, Onuigbo urged the House to do everything possible to preserve the national flag.

The PDP lawmaker said the bill, which would amend the Flag and Coat of Arms Act 2004, would further make provisions to safeguard all the country’s national heritage, when passed.

He expressed concern that there are underground efforts to change the national flag as many public and government offices now include the coat of arms in it.

He said: “It is important to declare that any addition, subtraction or super imposition outside the version designed by Pa Michael Akinkunmi in 1959 is not the Nigerian flag.”

“Section 10 of the Principal Act is being amended by removing the fine of N100 and replacing same with N100,000.”

The Nigeria flag was designed in 1959 and first officially hoisted on October 1, 1960.

Earlier, NAIJ.com had reported that Michael Taiwo Akinkunmi, the man who designed Nigeria’s flag is still alive but his present living condition is that of a forgotten hero.

“I was well-known all over the place,” Michael Taiwo Akinkunmi says. “Everybody was calling me Mr Flag Man.”

He designed the flag in October 1959, a year before Nigeria gained independence. He was paid – 100 pounds, equal to $281 in 1959.

Tanzanian conjoined twins Maria and Consolata Mwakikuti are in their last year at secondary school and are looking forward to graduating after their final exams. The 19 year-olds are studying in Iringa Udzungwa in Tanzania's south-west region.
Their mother died after giving birth, their father has also passed away, and they were raised by a Catholic church charity, Maria Consolata, which adopted them and gave them their names.

The BBC's Leonard Mubali travelled to meet them.

He joined them for a class session and says they were getting on well with their classmates and taking an active part in the lessons. He says Consolata was more talkative and engaged than her sister.

Headmaster Edward Fue said he had been shocked when he met the young women last year saying he did not know how to help them because the school did not have special facilities.
The school, with the aid of the local government, have now built a special room for them to rest. They also hired a driver to take them to where they live.

The reporter says that the girls are against the idea of being surgically separated.

The Taraba State police command has announced the arrest of a 60-year-old man, Abubakar Abdulkadir, who was in possession of roasted human parts.

The police suspect that the body parts found on Mr Abdulkadir were those of his nephew, Ali Gimba who’d been declared missing since April 27..

Making the disclosure Friday, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr David Misal, said the suspect was arrested at Alin-Gora Village, Ardo-kola Council Area of the state.

The police spokesman said;

“He was found in possession of body parts of the missing boy. He roasted part of the boy’s body and loaded it in a sack,”

“We also recovered a knife and a hoe which the suspect used in digging a hole to pour and cover the boy’s blood.”

“We want to know the purpose of this crime. Is it for ritual; to eat the flesh, or for sale.”

Bloodshed was averted on Friday evening at the Plateau State PDP Secretariat in Jos, when a faction loyal to Senator Alli Modu Sheriff tried to take over the place.

It took a combined team of security agencies to forestall crisis. While the group was still trying to force its way into the secretariat, news leaked to a rival faction said to have been elected through a congress and led by a former Minister of Sports, Damishi Sango.

The development forced the police, officials of the Department of State Services and Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps to immediately take over the secretariat, frisking persons going in and out of the place.

Addressing his supporters, Sango said, “The battle for the soul of Plateau has just begun”, adding that the masterminds of the crisis were bent on destabilising the PDP before the local government elections.

He said, “They want to cause confusion but I have told my people that there must be no violence, there must be no bloodshed. “We know the people behind all these, let them release timetable for local government elections.

You cannot claim what does not belong to you. “If you want to claim what doesn’t belong to you, proceed to the court. The man who is claiming to be PDP chairman has been granted bail by the court for criminal impersonation.

They just want to cause confusion and disrupt the peace. “We have to be very careful because Plateau State is still enjoying fragile peace. We don’t want anybody to tamper with that.

This is the struggle for the soul of Plateau, it has begun.” In his reaction, Gyang Badung, head of the other faction, said that the bail which was granted to him was not because Sango was challenging his position as Plateau State PDP chairman “but because of alleged criminal impersonation.

” He said, “Being law-abiding citizens, we will not do anything that will breach the laws of the land because peace is not negotiable.

We have no ill motive, our members were invited from all the 17 local governments to come for the meeting, and we are looking forward to the reconciliation of the party.

“Unfortunately, the Sango faction is not loyal to our leader, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, who has been declared by the court as the PDP National Chairman. “Whatever we are doing here has the backing of our National Secretariat.

We don’t want bloodshed, but I will assure you that we will take over the Secretariat by the grace of God in no distant time”, he stressed.

As preparations heat up for his relocation to Israel, Prophet T.B. Joshua, founder of Synagogue Church of All Nation has revealed the mystery behind his power, DailyPost reports.

The founder made this revelation in a documentary currently airing on national Israeli television, Reshet TV about the impending arrival of the Nigerian cleric.



Prophet Joshua had declared his intention to leave Nigeria and relocate his ministry to the nation of Israel, which is believed to be the birthplace of Jesus Christ.

He told his congregation that he had just returned from the ‘Holy Land’ where he held meetings with three prominent Israeli mayors of Jerusalem, Tiberias and the Jordan Valley.



Meanwhile, Reshet TV has aired an 11-minute feature on Joshua in Hebrew, detailing his recent visits to Israel and meetings with government dignitaries.
