Most of your faves made the list… It’s wrap-up season and this is why TooXclusive is bringing you a list of the hottest albums in the music industry for the year 2022. It has been a very busy year and quite a number of songs and studio albums were released. Nonetheless, we could only select a hand full. Let’s get into it 1. Mr Money With The Vibe- AsakeMr Money With The Vibe also called, MMWTV is Asake‘s debut album. It was released on 7 September 2022 and has only 2 guest features; Burna Boy and Russ. MMWTV has 17 tracks. Mr. Money With The Vibe Album, Produced by Magicstick. The song contains his breakthrough track, Omo Ope, and many other astonishing tunes. The afro-pop singer laced his album with contagious energy and vibes. Most of the songs of the album spent a lot of time topping charts. Although Asake only sprung fully into action after he joined the YBNL family, he has proven his loyalty to this craft. The singer is fully committed to putting out good music and putting smiles on the beautiful faces of his fans globally. 2. Love, Damini – Burna BoyThe body of work, love, Damini is the 6th studio album of Grammy-award-winner, Oluwadamini Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy. It’s a project that houses 19-solid tracks, with guest features from both local and international brains. Burna featured the likes of Ed Sheeran, a British singer, Khalid, Ladysmith Black, Victony to mention a few. Love, Damini was released in July 2022 and was produced by a couple of talented producers. It also serves as a follow-up to Burna BOy’s Grammy-nominated 2020 album, Twice As Tall. 3. Boy Alone – Omah LayFast-rising Nigerian music star, Stanley Omah Didia came through with his highly-anticipated studio album on the 15th of July. The body of work houses 6 impressive tracks. It will b recalled that Omah Lay got famous during the 2020 lockdown period after Nigerians got subjected to social media majorly. Many of the songs off Omah Lay’s Boy Alone have topped various charts. 4. Rave & Roses – RemaNigerian singer, Rema premiered his debut album, Rave & Roses on the 25th of March 2022 via Jonzing World and Mavin Records. The album included guest appearances from 6lack, Chris Brown, AJ Tracey, and Yseult. It houses 16 tracks, including the raving, Calm Down, Time N Affection, and a host of other impressive records. Remmy boy, who describes his music genre as “Afrorave” solidly confirms his stance in the music industry, as he vows to be here for a long time. Many of his predecessors, especially Timaya have also described him as their favorite new school artist in the music industry. 5. Love Is Not Enough (Vol 1 & 2) – Young JonnMuli-talented Nigerian singer, music producer, and songwriter, Young Jonn excited music lovers after he premiered his debut album titled, Love, Is Not Enough (Vol 1 & 2). A body of work that holds music genres like Afrobeat, Afro-pop, RnB, and Amapiano. Love Is Not Enough (Vol 1 & 2) houses 5 solid tracks like 32, Normally, and his breakthrough song, Dada. The production credit of the project goes to the likes Smyley, Niphkeys, Young Jonn, Type A & MagicSticks. 6. Billion Dollar Baby – Seyi VibezFollowing the release of his previous contributions, Seyi, No Vibes EP”, Balogun Afolabi Oluwaloseyi comes through with another infectious body of work tilled, Billion Dollar Baby. is an impressive and inspirational track for fans of Seyi to update their playlist with. The 11-track album goes viral for its hustling vibe – something his fans cannot get enough of. Balogun Afolabi Oluwaloseyi, whose stage name is Seyi Vibez always lets his fans know that he is going to be here to serve them for a very long time. His energy is quite contagious and his style is like non-other in the street side of the industry currently Not long ago, Seyi got dragged for adopting his new style of music from the likes of Asake, Bella Shmurda, and Olamide to mention a few. However, he shocked naysayers with his clap back, after he noted that none of the new school rappers inspire him. 7. Playboy – FireboyHighly revered Afrobeat crooner, Adedamola Adefolahan, also known as Fireboy released his anticipated studio album, Playboy, titled after one of his hit tracks. Playboy is a 13-track album with guest features from the likes of Asake on the chart-topping track, Bandana, British singer, Ed Sheeran, Chris Brown, and a host of others. It’s an album with a mashup of Nigerian R&B, Afropop, and Afrobeats. Fireboy DML’s debut studio album, Laughter, Tears, and Goosebumps (LTG) was released on the 29th of November, 2019. It houses 13 songs with no guest performers. Production credit goes to talents like Cracker Mallo, Echo the Guru, IamBeatz, and P.Prime, Pheelz. 8. More Love, Less Ego – WizkidAYodeji Ibrahim Balogun, widely known as Wizkid released his critically acclaimed body of worth, More Love; Less Ego on the 11th of November, 2022. The album, which should have originally been premiered earlier, got pushed back following the tragic demise of Davido’s son, Ifeanyi David Adeleke. More Love; Less Ego houses 13 chart-topping tracks, with guest features from A-list international artists. The album also serves as a follow-up to Wizkid’s award-winning 2020 project, Made In Lagos. “All the time, I want to show up as my highest self,” he says. 9. The Second Wave – RugerControversial Afrobeat singer, Micheal Adebayo Olayinka, better known as Ruger decided to whet the petite of music lovers around the world, and especially that of his fans by releasing a 4-track extended play titled, The Second Wave. This EP serves as his sophomore album, as well as a follow-up to his debut, Pandemic EP. The tracks contain his most famous and chart-topping chart tracks, Dior and Girlfriend. 10. V – AsaVeteran Nigerian singer, songwriter, record producer, and performer, Bujola Elemide, widely known as Asa quenched the 3-year-long thirst of her fans with her highly-anticipated studio album titled, “V”.The album “V” features creatives like Wizkid, The cavemen, and Amarae. An album that serves as a follow-up to her 2019 body of work, “Lucid”. “V” portrayed a different side to her and houses 10 solid tracks, and serves as the singer’s 5th studio album. Shedding light on the album, Asa said: V is about happiness, love, friendship, and lots of joy, It’s fresh and modern, but it’s also something you’re familiar with. I’m simply expressing being with the flow of things. Writing V songs at home meant the soil, air, food, and sun all made contributions to the creation of this album, The album was written entirely in front of the water and that definitely contributed greatly to the songs because I was so calm.
