Former Big Brother Nigeria housemates, Lilian Afegbai and Gifty Powers, and actress, Tonto Dikeh, were in the news recently.

Lilian had uploaded a post on Instagram saying that she wouldn’t consider having cosmetic surgery as she was satisfied with her body.

However, Gifty took offence to the ‘sexy’ pictures that Lilian posted. According to her, Lilian had once abused her for uploading body-revealing pictures. Many also felt the cosmetic surgery part was a shade at Tonto Dikeh.

However, in a chat with Sunday Scoop, Lilian maintained that she didn’t have Tonto Dikeh in mind when she made the post.

“I don’t know them personally; so, I don’t know where the controversy came from. I have never met Tonto Dikeh and Gifty. I have never had any prior interaction with either of them.

“I wrote something about myself and I didn’t have the intention of shading anyone. I don’t get involved in things like that. After the whole issue, I had to go back to read what I wrote to see if I had done something wrong but no, I was not referring to anybody. It was just unfortunate that bloggers blew the whole thing up. My intention was to motivate and inspire my followers,” she said.

On whether she had had contact with any of the actresses since the incident, Afegbai said,

“I haven’t reached out to anyone and I don’t intend to reach out to anybody. I didn’t do anything wrong. If I wanted to insult anyone, I would have done it directly and thrash it out. I don’t involve myself in too much drama. I don’t have a problem with anybody doing anything with their bodies. I was talking about myself when I said I didn’t see the need for it.”

Narrating her version of events at the BBN finale party where Gifty alleged she begged for champagne, Lilian said,

“I was at the event and I saw Gifty and her mother. I have no reason to beg for champagne. If you want to trend because your career is dead, you don’t have to lie. Even Ebuka gave me a bottle of champagne at the event and if I needed one, I would have ordered for it. I didn’t even stay at the event for too long.”

On what she feels about Tonto Dikeh’s reaction to the issue, Lilian said, “I feel it was a misconception. I really don’t know why she reacted like that but I definitely wasn’t talking to or about her. I feel people just like drama and that’s why it even got to this level.”
