The Arsenal board have warned Arsen Wenger about delaying on transfer business as the club prepare to announce a new two-year deal for the French boss.

The 67-year-old is a prominent figure at the North London club since he arrived in 1996, winning several trophies and achievements to put them among one of the best clubs in Europe.

However, Arsene Wenger has come under intense speculations for his side’s lacklustre performances which has seen them lose out on major trophies in the last decade. There have been protests from a large section of the fans that have expressed their frustrations about Wenger’s reign.

But reliable reports around Arsenal have it that the club are ready to announce a two-year-deal for the Frenchman but have warned about doing his transfer business earlier this summer.

It is understood that the board wants Arsene Wenger to re-invent himself and make changes to his management approach in order to challenge for major titles next season.

Arsenal have been linked with a number of targets this summer, with reports that the Gunners want to better their performances next season after failing to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
