Recall that in 2017, a  Birmingham man miraculously survived after being shot in the head.

The victim, a man in his 30s, was shot in broad daylight on Arthur Street in the Small Heath area of the city at around 6.30pm on Monday.

“Police were called to reports of a shooting in Arthur Street, Small Heath, at around 6.30pm last night (July 3),” said a spokesperson for West Midlands Police.

“A man in his 30s has been taken to hospital with a head injury which is not believed to be life-threatening. The road has been cordoned off while investigations into the street shooting are carried out.”

He also suffered injuries to his arm and chest and was taken to hospital by local ambulance and paramedic teams.

“On arrival, crews discovered a man in his 30s with injuries to his arm, chest and head,” confirmed West Midlands Ambulance Service. “Following treatment from ambulance staff at the scene, the man, who was fully conscious, was transported to hospital for further assessment.”

The local health provider also said that the injured person had been the victim of a shooting, confirming that a gunshot wound had been reported in Arthur Street, Small Heath.

The location of the shooting is a residential street, just a few hundred metres from Birmingham City Football Club’s home ground of St Andrew’s.
