The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has again cautioned Nigerians to be wary of investments in crypto currency as they are virtual currencies that are not legal tender in Nigeria.

Acting Director, Corporate Communications, Isaac Okoroafor, gave the warning in a statement on Wednesday.

He noted that crypto currencies such as Bitcoin, Ripples, Monero, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Onecoin, and Exchanges such as NairaEx were not licensed or regulated by the CBN.

Okoroafor said “dealers and investors in any kind of crypto currency in Nigeria are not protected by law, thus may be unable to seek legal redress in event of failure of the exchangers or collapse of the business.”

The CBN further warned Nigerians against investing in crypto currencies as doing so would be at their own risk.

Bitcoin was the best performing currency of the year 2016. It appreciated from four cents in 2010 to over $1,000 in 2017.

Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi 

While speaking in a telephone interview with The PUNCH, in Abuja, on Wednesday, the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, said what the party’s National Executive Committee did at its last meeting, was to pass a vote of confidence in President Muhammadu Buhari and the Chief John Odigie-Oyegun-led National Working Committee.

The All Progressives Congress spokesman made it clear that a vote of confidence was not the same as endorsing the President for a second term, adding that the issue of endorsing the President for a second term did not form part of discussions during the NEC meeting.

Speaking in response to a question on whether the endorsement of Buhari for a second term in 2019 was part of decisions taken during the party’s last NEC meeting, Abdullahi said, “NO.”

He said: “You will recall that the Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, addressed this issue while responding to a question on the issue of 2019 at yesterday (Tuesday’s) briefing when he said, the President has not said he wants to contest and that for now, his focus is on the issue of governance, so the issue of endorsing him (President) for a second term in 2019 did not arise.”

Recall that Reuters had on Wednesday, quoted two unnamed APC leaders as saying the APC National Executive Committee of the APC had endorsed President Buhari to seek re-election.

Anna Akuson, a witness in the N3.9 billion fraud trial involving Alex Badeh, former Chief of Air Staff, on Wednesday told the Federal High Court, Abuja how he recovered $1 million cash from the ex-Airforce Chief’s apartment.

Mr. Akuson, an operative of the EFCC, who testified as PW20, said that the money was found in a wardrobe at the upper apartment of the building located at No. 6 Ogun River Street, Off Danube Street, Maitama, Abuja during a search.

Akuson said: “I am a cameraman working with the EFCC. On February 24, 2016, I was assigned to go on a search with some operatives. The team leader told me the properties (we were to search) belong to Alex Badeh.

“On reaching the place, I started my recording from outside. In the master bedroom (upstairs), we found a travelling bag covered with a pillow-case in the wardrobe. We opened the travelling bag and found US dollars inside. We brought the bag down and the money was counted.

“After the search, we returned to the office and I copied the visual from my camera to a hard drive, after which I burned it to a DVD disc”.

Mr. Badeh is facing trial alongside Iyalikam Nigeria Limited, on a 10-count charge of money laundering to the tune of N3.9billion.

Between January and December, 2013,he allegedly used dollar equivalent of N1.4 billion removed from the accounts of the Nigerian Air Force to purchase a mansion situated at No. 6, Ogun River Street, Off Danube Street, Maitama, Abuja.

However, the defence counsel told the court it was first time he would hear about the certificate of identification and the DVD disc of the recordin.

He relied on Section 379 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015.

Mr. Olujimi argued, “I am for the first time seeing these documents in court now that the Registrar handed them over to me.

“There is no doubt that the prosecutor did not include these two documents in the information he filed before this court.

That means we have been deprived of the rights of an accused person by the law. These two documents ought to have accompanied the information which the court has”.

Olujimi further applied that the next date of hearing, which is March 1 be vacated to enable the defence study the documents and prepare their defence.

Consequently, Justice Abang of Abuja federal high court adjourned the case to March 14 for continuation of trial.

The issue of cheating in marriages has become topical in recent times and actress Nana Ama McBrown has shared her perspective on the matter.

According to her, women can never stop men from cheating on them but when they do they should attach some respect to it.

“You cannot stop men from cheating, but while cheating, they should attach some respect to the act,” she said.

In an interview with Kwame Adjetia on Neat 100.9 FM’s ‘Entertainment Ghana,’ she said the fact that men in the Bible cheated clearly tells that they cannot weaned off the act.

Nana Ama added that it takes much smartness for a husband to cheat on her wife without her noticing it.

“If you are cheating on your wife and you have not been caught, it’s a plus to you.”

Nana Ama McBrown, 44, who got married in 2016 to 35 year-old Maxwell Mawu Mensah, is not bothered about the age different with her husband. According to her, she is not the only one who has married a man younger than her.

She has starred in movies like ‘My Bible,’ ‘Daughters f the Night,’ ‘The End,’ ‘Dead End,’ ‘My Own Mother,’ among others.

Krakow, Poland – Before Will Smith was making millions as an actor, the West Philadelphia (born and raised) entertainer was one of Hip Hop’s foremost feel-good MCs. Along with his trusty DJ/producer, Jazzy Jeff, he evolved from rap stardom into a staple of American pop culture thanks to his role in NBC’s hit show The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

While in Krakow, Poland covering the Red Bull 3Style World Finals, HipHopDX caught up with Jeff — one of the judges for the five-night competition — to get his thoughts on a potential successor to the Fresh Prince role. With rumors of a reboot popping up recently, DX asked Jeff which rapper could fill the giant footprints left by his megastar partner-in-rhyme. In his eyes, there was one choice that stood head and shoulders above the rest.

“I think Chance [The Rapper] would be a really good Fresh Prince,” Jeff told DX. “‘Cause Chance always seems to have a lighthearted demeanor. He’s got a serious side to him but Chance is always smiling. Chance is always trying to do something really positive. I think Chance would be a really good Fresh Prince.”

Jeff, who played Jazz on the sitcom, not only cited Chance’s charisma as a selling point but also noted that the Chicago MC’s fearlessness and big-picture thinking make for a favorable comparison to Smith.

“Chance is a trailblazer and Will has always been a trailblazer,” he noted. “There has never been an ‘I can’t’ [in their vocabulary]. I think I really got a lot of that from [Smith], that ‘There’s no Plan B. Plan B just means you think that Plan A can fail. It’s just ‘This is what I’m gonna do and I just need to do it.’ There’s no ‘I hope it happens.’ It may take a little time but I’m just gonna do it.

“And I think for Chance to be as young as he is, to remain independent, to understand just even a little bit about the music industry, I think is great because it’s very easy to fall into those pitfalls. It’s very easy for someone to bring you a suitcase full of money, and it changes your entire perspective instead of realizing, ‘I probably could have 10 suitcases full of money if I just keep my product to myself.'”

Saweetie has enjoyed a meteoric rise behind her viral hit "ICY GRL," which landed her a major deal with Warner Bros. Records. The 24-year-old stopped by Hot 97's Ebro In The Morning yesterday (Feb. 28) for a concise interview and even added a freestyle for the crew.

The Bay Area native was on a mission to convince the morning show that she was entirely focused on growing her hip-hop career. "I be rapping about myself, I'm a storyteller. I just learned to write songs at the beginning of this year. I was a freestyle rapper," admits the former USC Trojan.

Saweetie takes aim at her detractors during the live freestyle, "If you didn't know I'm the eighth wonder of the sea/If you asking about who's hot you better ask about me/I don't know a finer woman with a college degree/How to gossip when you too busy being a queen."

Ebro kept it brutally honest during his critique, which made for an awkward scene, but Saweetie took everything in stride. "If you was a dude I'd probably be harder on you. I just thought the raps was basic," said the radio personality. "I think you need to get a little sharper on your diction, clarity and your content."

Phonte has announced his long-promised sophomore album No News Is Good News will finally see the light of day, seven years following the release of his solo debut Charity Starts at Home.  The LP, which was first announced nearly two years ago, is slated to drop at midnight.

In an interview with HipHopDX in June 2016, he originally targeted for a September 30, 2016 release date.

He originally attributed the delay to the immense amount of things on his plate, including his touring schedule with The Foreign Exchange as well as his role in VH1’s The Breaks as the pro-black battle rap character Imam Ali. On top of that, Phonte released Tigallerro, a collaborative project with singer Eric Roberson, in 2016.

When discussing the album with WatchLoud in July 2016, he noted how different the approach would be from his debut. “I didn’t want to write over the course of a year or two,” he explained. “This project will be a lot more immediate, with song banged out in a short, concentrated burst.”

Over the course of the week, there were rumors that current Big Brother Naija housemate BamBam was wanted back home by her parents as a result of her perceived escapades with fellow housemate Teddy A.
