JUST IN: LASU Exam Stampede Injures Six by Whizee(m) : 5:19 pm

About six students were injured in a stampede on Monday at the Lagos State University (LASU).

The incident occurred during a GNS 102 examination at the new ICT centre, near the varsity’s Faculty of Management Sciences.

The exam, it was learnt, was the last expected to be taken by the 100-level students for the 2018/2019 session second semester examinations.

According to reports, a student, name withheld, was quoted saying about six persons were injured in the stampede.

LASU spokesman, Adekoya Ademola, has confirmed the incident.

He did not reveal the casualty figure.

“It is just a small incident blown out of proportion. They are new students, who want to have a feel of the new ICT centre. Instead of some of them to come tomorrow, they all want to take their examination there today,” Mr Ademola said.

Ademola added that those affected have been treated and discharged from the hospital.
