beach-fun

The Lagos Bar Beach is undergoing a facelift to make it more user-friendly during the Christmas and New Year festivities, and therefore its management has temporarily restricted touristic visits to the beach to allow a hitch-free refurbishment.

Mr Effiong Ekanem, the Chairman, Tourism Committee of Lagos Bar Beach, disclosed this on Wednesday in an interview in Lagos.

According to Ekanem, the beach would be officially reopened on Dec. 20, adding that there were several activities lined up from Dec. 20 to Dec. 31 at the beach to thrill fun seekers throughout the festive period.

“The beach is restricted from visitors, but would be formerly opened tomorrow.

“You can see how different the beach is looking, the Lagos State government is trying to give it a befitting look,’’ Ekanem said.

He explained that, “though there are programmes to entertain fun seekers at the beach this festive period, the renovation is meant to ensure that bar beach becomes one of the best beaches around.’’
He said that the management would continue to ensure that the security network and safety of fun seekers at the beach were guaranteed.

“Security at the beach has always been the number one priority and would not be tampered with,’’ NAN quotes Ekanem as saying. [NAN]
